As of now Eli had two leads. The dried up water body at the foot of Roy Hill and Mr Digby's knowledge. Eli sighed, both these leads were quite hopeless but it was something he had to pursue. It could almost feel the mystery beckoning him.
It was too soon to go to Mr Digby right now, the poor fellow was probably still asleep. Therefore, Eli decided to first head down to the erstwhile creek. He decided to explore the area as far as he could go. It was just daybreak. He had enough time to explore the whole area before day end and there would still be time left to visit Mr Digby.
As Eli left the castle with some fruits in his pocket and a flask of water on his hips, he could feel that something was different. He looked back at the castle and it appeared that nothing had changed. May be nothing had, may be everything has been Eli's imagination. He brushed these thoughts off his mind and carried on with his downward journey.
As Eli was trekking through the back side of Roy Hill, he realised that the hill was mostly untouched from the happening of last night. As usual he navigated through the hill easily and soon he was at the foot of the hill and right in front of him was the dried creek bed. As far as his eyes could go all Eli saw was gravel and forest shrubs and plants sprouting through the creek bed.
It was very hard to imagine that once upon a time water would have flown through this creek. He could see the creek bed from the light tower of the castle. How lovely would it be to look down at beautiful peacefull flowing water. The light house would be his favorite point of the castle then.
Eli marched on. He was unsure what he was looking for. The message said something about the people who saw the waters plight. Eli thought to himself, " Anyone can see the water's plight. Anyone who would pass the creek would see the water's plight. ". But the truth was no one ever ventured towards this dry creek, there was no reason to do so. It was behind Roy Hill, so even the rare visitors who came upto Roy Hill never had to cross it. The same thought seem to have stuck Eli.
" Why, I could be the first person to come to this creek in a long time. Maybe, the last time someone saw it, it still had water."
But this epiphany did not answer any questions he had about the secret message
