GETTING IN TOUCH

Act 1, Scene 5

Setting: University lecture hall. Students settle into their seats. LEE YEON walks in, still distracted from earlier. His eyes scan the room — and freeze.

(TAEYANG is there, sitting at the far left, flipping through a notebook. He doesn’t look up. LEE YEON’s lips part slightly in surprise.)

LEE YEON

(voiceover, stunned)

Again? In my class?

(starts walking slowly)

Okay… Okay, maybe it’s fate. Maybe…

(He takes a seat far from Taeyang. The PROFESSOR enters and begins the lecture. Time passes. Then—)

PROFESSOR

Alright, we’re starting your midterm projects today. You’ll be working in groups of five — seniors and juniors mixed. Groups are assigned randomly.

(Students groan and murmur. LEE YEON tries to act uninterested, but his fingers tighten around his pen.)

PROFESSOR

Group 7: Yoon Taeyang… Lee Yeon… Min Jiwoo, Hara Kim, and Do Seokjin.

(There’s a beat of stunned silence. LEE YEON blinks. TAEYANG looks up slowly. Their eyes meet. Tension. Stillness. Then—)

LEE YEON

(voiceover, internally screaming with joy)

No way. This can’t be real. This is not happening.

(pause)

Thank you, universe. Thank you.

(LEE YEON walks over to the group’s table, keeping his cool, then bows politely.)

LEE YEON

(smiling, calm voice)

Nice to meet you all. I’m Lee Yeon, junior in media studies. I’ll do my best.

(He glances at Taeyang, whose expression is unreadable — not angry, but clearly shocked. His grip on the table tightens. The others introduce themselves, but the energy between Lee Yeon and Taeyang is thick — and only they feel it.)

LEE YEON

(voiceover)

You remember me, don’t you?

(He smiles faintly. For the first time, Taeyang meets his eyes properly — and says nothing.)

(Lights dim.)
