Chapter 3

styr's POV She threw her arms around my neck, as mine went around her waist. She had nothing but a white towel, covering her chest to just after her butt. As we loosened the embrace and stared at each other, Zane called out, “Mate! Mate!” He sounded very excited. ‘I heard you for the first time in the woods, Zane,’ I responded, but only loud enough for me to hear. ‘But that's not why we're here, you will have to pipe down.’ Zane whimpered, withdrawing from the surface. I was yet to speak a word before the little princess pressed a kiss on my lips. As much as I wanted to, I couldn't deny how electrifying her touches were nor could I deny the weakening effect it had on me. As we shared this passionate kiss, I slid my hands under her towel, squeezing her butt cheeks, one with each hand. I couldn't control the desire that blazed in me as I planted kisses everywhere on her face, going down her neck. I lifted her from the ground and was insane by how her thin legs went around my waist. I finally had the opportunity to explore every bit of her 5’5”, slim body, covered in glittering brown skin. I massaged her butt, staring deep into her ocean blue eyes, and the best thing about her for me had to be black, afro curly hair, and--how they had the personal accessories of a round face, pointed jaw and sharp jawline, and a pointed nose. Carrying her in my arms, I walked over to the luxurious bed in her chamber, placing her right in it. The innocent reaction she gave when my hands reached her chest, excited me even more, and I was sure to make it a night of bliss for us both. ********************************************* “Are you staying this time?” She asked, as we both laid butt naked in bed, our only covering being a duvet. “We could have our mating ceremony in a week,” she said excitedly, “in three days,” she added. “Oh, my little princess,” I caressed her thick, black hair. “How about we focus on getting you that Alpha seat?” I said. “I am going to be Alpha,” she replied so innocently. I found her innocence a turn-on. “Not if they keep sending you on all those death quests, my dear,” I said. “You think they are trying to kill me?” She probed. “Yes dear,” I affirmed, “only people willing to die go into the dark woods,” I said. “And who knows what they'll say next?” An instant confusion overtook her, and her gullibility only made my work easier. “But my father and his father before him, all conquered those quests,” she replied. “Did they?” I asked rhetorically. “You are softly built and shouldn't have to do all that to take your seat as Alpha,” I said, sounding alluring. “But,” I continued before she got the chance to chip in, “if you must, let me help,” I said. “I don't think I'm allowed to get any help,” she said, “No one has to know,” I said to her. “We are mates, aren't we?” She nodded affirmatively to my question, “You don't think I will let my mate die on their ridiculous quest, do you?” I probed. “We're the same people, made one by our mate bond,” I said, making sure to sound alluring. “We don't know what other steps they'll throw at you, but we do know I was built for the wild,” I continued. “That is why I can't show my face, so no one suspects you're getting any help, because no one knows me,” I could see her buying my idea and nodding affirmatively. The emission of love and trust from her ocean-blue eyes was enchanting, but not enough to throw me off track. “You do want to rule after your father, don't you?” I asked, and she nodded affirmatively in response. “Then this is the only way,” I said. “I trust you,” she said, hugging me tightly. “I do have a condition though,” I didn't delay in cutting off her joy. “That you'll let me rule as Alpha, and you rule beside me as Luna, when we do conquer all the quests,” I demanded. There was a quick change in her countenance, but nothing that a little magic touch couldn't fix. “We would be the most powerful rulers of the Scarlet Heart pack, with a Luna of your caliber beside an Alpha like me,” I said. Her eyes revealed how lost in thoughts she was, weighing my words. “You trust me, princess, don't you?” I asked. She hesitated but eventually gave an affirmative nod. “Alright,” she responded. I hugged her tightly. “Now, go meet the officials, you're late,” I told her, helping her out of bed. I lay in bed with a grin on my face, watching her get dressed to go meet the pack officials. She smiled broadly at me, ignoring the fact that she was over twenty minutes late for her meeting. As she walked out of the chamber and closed the door behind her, I looked around every corner of the chamber. I got out of bed, walking every inch of her chambers and observing space after space. I peeped out the window and observed the town. It was just as my father had described, not so much had changed. I didn't expect to be here after years and years of banishment, and it felt ethereal to be here. “Well, well, Scarlet Heart,” I said, in a firm voice, although under my breath, “your doom has come to you.” “It's time to pay back for all your sins.” I clenched my fist.
