Chapter 15

Chapter 15 Isabelle POV We stand in silence at the oracle's door. Her husband is an elder and she's an oracle. The magic there, I don't know how it happened. I've changed into another shirt, this time with long sleeves and a pair of yoga tights. We walked over here in silence after Cass revealed that I might actually be the Moon Goddess's daughter. Was this what Luna Elizabeth was talking about? Is this how I'm special? The door opens and an elderly woman comes into view. "Alphas." She nods her head. "Oracle Kashima." "Would you like to come in?" She asks, stepping aside. We make our way into her home and she leads us to her living area. "How may I assist you today?" She asks, taking a seat in her lounger chair; obviously getting comfortable. Austin, Sebastian and Cassy sit, but I remain standing. She looks at me with a look of adoration and I manage to give her a small smile. "Oracle Kashima, we have a couple of questions that we wanted to ask." Sebastian says, since no one else was going to speak up. "Of course." she states. "I saw you coming." Austin looks over to Cassy and he nods his head. "We wanted to know the story of the Moon Goddess's Daughter.. Is your husband present?" The oracle's eyes go foggy for a moment before focusing back to us. "He will be here in a second." And a second is really all we had to wait because he came waltzing out of the back room. "Luna." He smiled at me. "Elder." I bow. "Marco is just fine." He says to me, with a smile. Despite his obvious age, he looks good, just a little stressed. "Alpha Austin, Alpha Sebastian, what may I do for you today?" He sends Cassy a little smile and a wink before sitting beside his wife. Cassy speaks up again. "The story of the Moon Goddess's daughter.. We wanted to know about that." He takes a deep breath. "Tell me what you know about it.." He says, motioning for them to talk. I stay standing behind the chairs, basically not trying to be seen. Cassy starts back up. "I was taught growing up that the Moon Goddess would have a daughter, just not in this lifetime.. well, my parents' life time. It goes like this really.. The Moon Goddess fell in love and got pregnant, but she wouldn't be able to take care of the baby by herself. Reason cause: her 'love' died. She granted an unexpecting couple with her baby and would love her and treat her like their own. They raised her until it would be time for her to take over. I think that there was something said about a war, but I could be wrong." Cassy explains. "We were told the same story by my grandparents.. " Sebastian mumbles as Austin nods his head in agreement. Why was I never told this story? Well it may be because I was hated and no one would care to tell me anything. The elder looks at the table for a little longer before speaking up. "That story isn't exactly wrong.. just a few missing details and blurry spots." He sits up straighter in his seat. "The Moon Goddess did in fact have a daughter and she did grant her to an unexpecting couple. But, she was not meant to be loved. The Moon Goddess's daughter was to grow up faster than any other wolf in werewolf history. She was meant to be purer than any other, stronger, able to withstand more and to never give up. Her life was meant to be challenging and she was meant to learn from it.. When the time comes, she is to stop a war from happening. A war that could wipe out all of werewolf kind." He looks over to his wife and she speaks up. "Why is it that you wished to know this story?" She asks, the question directed to any of us. I keep quiet, not wanting to believe what is happening. Sebastian speaks up, since it seems like Austin won't.. again. "Austin and I strongly believe that..'' he shoots a glance over his shoulder to me. "We strongly believe that we're mated to the Moon Goddess's daughter.." The oracle and elder's eyes shoot over to me. "I know the possibility is rare for such matings to happen with us being kings.. but she has shown all of the things that make her up.. and if this is true, we have a war that is going to happen that we have to stop." Sebastian finishes. The oracle beckons me to come closer with her hand. I slowly make my way to where she and her husband are sitting. She stands in front of me, her husband doing the same. "Hello Luna." They speak. Though just saying hi to both of them a few minutes earlier, I speak again.. In a waving/smiling matter that is. "I'm going to ask you to remove your shirt.. or we could tear your shirt." She suggests. I immediately shake my head no. "I'll remove it." "What for? Why does it need to be removed?" Austin says from behind me, finally speaking. I fight the urge to roll my eyes at him. The oracle just smiles. "To see both of your marks. I presume that is not a problem?" I answered him. "That is no problem at all. Right Austin?" I say, my tone leaving no room for disagreements to be made. Sebastian and Cassy look to Austin and it kind of all seems like we're waiting for his answer. "Right.. It's just- I didn't know-.." I turn back to the oracle. "I'll remove it so dad doesn't throw a fit about anyone touching me." Also because I like this shirt, but I don't say that out loud. I take a step back and remove my shirt, leaving me in a black sports bra and the black yoga tights I changed into. I toss the shirt to Austin and Sebastian, shooting them a wink in the process. Both of them swallow hard as Cassy sends me a cat call. It makes me laugh. I turn back to the oracle and her husband. They are focused on the markings on my arm and shoulders. The oracle lightly traces the spiral on my arms and looks closely at the words. Elder Marco looks back up to me. "Luna, I am going to ask you a few questions.. is that alright?" I nod my head. He quickly grabs a notebook and pen off of the table and stands back in front of me. All the while he is doing that, Oracle Kashima is still inspecting my arm and both marks. "Full name, please, Luna." "Isabelle Marie Mason." He hums. "Age?" "21. I turn 22 tomorrow." I mumble. "Your birthday is tomorrow Luna?" I nod. He writes something else down. "How old were you when you first shifted?" I debate on telling him the truth or not. I could and they would look at me differently.. View me as unstable. Or I could lie, but I would feel guilty about that. Oracle Kashima speaks up. "It's alright, Luna. This stays between us." I nod. "I was five.." I whisper. His eye brows raise. "Force shift?" I shake my head. "No.. I wouldn't think so." "What happened when you shifted? Any pain? Blood?" I shake my head. "I didn't feel anything, I was angry. Ellie and I just wanted to protect Luna Elizabeth." He nods as Oracle Kashima pulls back. She mouths something at him and he looks on in shock. I back away slowly, until I feel arms wrap around my waist and someone pulling my hand. I look down to see Sebastian curling my fingers with his, and pulling me onto the couch in between him and Austin. We regard the Oracle and Elder with calculating eyes.I am taken aback when they both turn back to us, me in particular, and drop down to both knees. "Savior." They both say, their gazes lowered. I try to stand but Austin keeps his arm locked around my waist and Sebastian keeps his hand coiled with mine, placing his other hand on my thigh. I pay it no mind as I look at the two in front of me. "What are you doing? Please stand." I say, with wide eyes. They both rush to stand on their feet, with their eyes still casted down. Austin's voice comes from beside me. "What is going on, Oracle? Elder?" They look like they're debating on whether they can speak or not. "Please explain what is going on.." I mumble. Oracle Kashima looks at me first. "You're our Savior." On both sides of me I hear Austin and Sebastian take a sharp intake of breath. I'm quite sure that I heard Cassy's intake of breath also. "Are you sure?" Cassy asks. The oracle nods her head. "Yes, the markings say so. Everything that has happened proves it to be so." She says slowly. "What are you talking about?" I ask, completely confused. Damn me and my stupidity sometimes. "Luna Isabelle.. You're the Daughter. You're the one meant to save us all." My stomach does a flip. Not a good flip; The type of flip when you figure out something nerve racking. I keep quiet as she continues. "You are the purest out of all werewolves. You're the strongest werewolf known to history besides Mother herself. You are the most persistent of us all and able to withstand more, Luna." I shake my head. "No, I'm not the strongest, Ellie pushes me to be persistent and I am not pure." I say. I whisper the last part quietly. "You are, my dear. It is up to you.. You must save us now." ~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~ I sit on the couch in the living area, staring into an empty space. It's hard for me to believe.. I was always told I would be nothing, or I'm not important. But in reality, I'm the most important of all. If I don't stop this war from happening, there will be no more of us. That's how the Lycanthrope community got wiped out over 200 hundred years ago. A Lycan got chosen, but he denied it. Said he wouldn't do it.. Hunters wiped them out. There were too many hunters to take down. "Isabelle." I hear Sebastian call my name, snapping me out of my thoughts. I look up to see him. He has changed from earlier, now wearing a white t-shirt and a pair of black gym shorts. "Are you hungry?" He asks. I shake my head. "Are you sure?" Well, I haven't eaten today at all.. but I'm afraid to try and stomach anything at the moment. "Yes, but I'll come sit with you." I could go to keep my mind off of things, just for the moment that is. I jump up from off of the couch to fast and get slightly dizzy. "Geez.." I mutter to myself. When we get to the kitchen, Austin is at the stove... trying to cook. He is failing; MISERABLY. "What are you doing?" I ask, walking closer. Sebastian takes a seat, and watches us. Austin turns to look at me with wide eyes. "I was trying- to like.." I laugh, cutting him off. "What are you trying to make?" I ask him, walking over to Sebastian. He opens his arms and I willingly fall into them. "...Spaghetti and meatballs.. But the meat wouldn't work right so I tried to do this" He holds up some battered hamburger meat. "But it didn't work." He pouts. His pout is honestly adorable. I stifle a laugh into Sebastian's chest. "I'm going to tell you what to do." I say, getting into Sebastian's lap sideways so that I can face Austin. He wraps his arm around my back and the other is resting on my knee, rubbing in small circles. "Get the hamburger meat and make it into several little balls." Sebastian snickers. "Oh hush. You should be learning to cook with him." I tell him, bringing my head up from his chest. Sebastian shakes his head. "Not today, love. I like where I am." He says, pulling me impossibly closer. I shake my head in disbelief. "Done." Austin says. "Let me see." He brings them over to me so that I can look. They look fairly good for the to be done by someone who can't cook.I smile. "Good. Now go put on some water and boil it, please." I say closing my eyes. He complies, taking out everything he needs before filling the boiler up with water. "That's enough." I speak with my eyes closed. Sebastian snorts. "How could you tell? Your eyes were closed." I shrug. "Years of cooking, I guess." I chuckle. "Let me know when the water is boiling so you can put the noodles in the water." I say to Austin, closing my eyes. I hear him hum a response. Sebastian's arms tighten around me and I let out a deep breath. "Belle?" "Hmm?" "What did you mean by earlier?" Sebastian asks. I pull my head up from his chest and give him a confused look. "What happened earlier?" I ask, honestly confused. "You said you weren't pure.. What did you mean?" His eyebrows pull together when he asks me this. "I was going to ask the same thing.." Austin says, walking over to us. I lay my head back on Sebastian's chest and close my eyes. I keep my mouth closed, not offering them anything. "Princess?" "I meant what I said." I say gritting my teeth, not daring to open my eyes. "..And what did you mean by that?" I sit up from Sebastian's chest again, this time with my hands in my lap. "I'm not pure... I may be mentally, but physically, I'm not." They both sigh, and I swear I see the moment of what I'm saying dawn on them. "What happened..?" I slide off of Sebastian's lap and push past Austin, moving to boiling water sitting on the stove. I take the spaghetti noodles and drop a hefty amount into the water. "I was cleaning and no one was home, and I thought that I was alone. I thought that everyone was gone. I was in the process of walking back up to the attic to take a break but someone grabbed me and threw something over my face." I pause, turning back to face them. "I'm still not sure to this day what it was, but when I woke up, I couldn't remember anything. I know that I was nearly naked and my arms and legs were tied tightly above my head and towards the end of the bed with silver chains. Thomas' face came into view and I wanted to scream. I wanted to scream so bad, but I couldn't. My mouth was gagged, and you couldn't hear anything through it but my muffled cries and screams. Ellie wasn't responding when I called out to her, so I knew that I would have to find a way out on my own. But I knew I couldn't fight him off; He's an alpha and I was only 16." I look up at the twins. "I tried so hard to stop him; I did. No matter how much I tried to kick or tear my hands free they wouldn't move. The silver chains burned my wrists, but not as much as I thought it would. After he was done, he walked off and into his bathroom, not bothering to pay me any attention. He just kept repeating 5 words: 'This is your fault, Isabelle.'  Over and over again with a sick smile on his face. I just lay there, too tired to scream any more, with tears rolling down my face. I cried to Ellie. Cried for her to help me, over and over again." Austin tries to come closer but I hold up my hand. "Listen, you wanted to know." "Isabelle-" He tries to stop me again, but I continue. "He came back from his bathroom, and I'm pretty sure you can think what was on his mind." I let out a forced breath. "By that time, Ellie was trying to respond to me, trying to see what was wrong. But I couldn't say anything but 'help me, Ellie'. Thomas turned my head and beckoned me to open my eyes. Ellie complied and when she saw Thomas, everything just snapped. My hands were free from the chains, as were my legs. All of the pain from Luna Elizabeth dying, my pack hating me, my parents abandoning me, did nothing but fueled her rage. She was beyond angry, and I let her take over." I wipe the tears that have come from my eyes and continue, turning back to the stove. "We damn near killed Thomas. I thought we did for a second.. He'd stopped healing and Ellie wouldn't stop tearing at his throat.." I let out a watery smile. "I had to stop Ellie when I saw him take a breath. He wasn't even fighting back, not that he could. I ran out of the room and outside to the woods. We stayed out there for almost 3 days. I didn't want to eat, so Ellie would force feed me when she would go hunt; so I didn't die. I still feared Thomas after that though. Ellie would constantly tell me that if I suck up to him, he'd know he could get away with it again. She would always get mad at me after that whenever he would hit us or call us names she didn't like. I managed to push her back until I became a rogue.. After that I let her free." This time when I turn back to the twins they're right behind me. "Told you.." I shrug. "Mentally, I know I'm pure. It's the physical part I'm worried about." They both wrap me in their arms and I hug them back. I want to say that I'm fine but before I can, Sebastian speaks up. "You are the strongest person I know. Whether it be mentally or physically, you are. You are pure. And you are ours." The pride in his voice is clear, and it almost makes me smile. "I love you." They both mumble into my hair, low enough that I almost didn't hear it. It makes me think that It wasn't meant to be heard. Hearing that from both of them makes Ellie ecstatic and it has me in shock. Shock that I will not show, no matter how shocked I am. And I believe them both. I believe that they do love me. They wouldn't have listened if they didn't. They would've rejected me if they didn't.. They wouldn't have chased me the first day they met me or hurt the warrior at Nathaniel's pack. I have never loved anyone before but I think that I love them too.. That fact scares me. It's not nothing that I thought I would ever feel. They make me feel safe. They actually make me feel wanted. "I love you" I find myself mumbling. Truth be told, nothing has ever felt more right.
