Olivia's POV "Tick, tick." In the vast living room, only the sound of the second hand moving remained. The housekeeper, Ivy Molly, said, "Luna, please stop waiting. Dawn is almost here." As the Luna, I was almost out of hope. I wanted to speak, but my throat hurt as if it had been cut by a knife. "Mrs. Molly, I'm not leaving. Alpha Kael said he would come back." I repeated those words over and over in my heart. Perhaps the Moon Goddess would pity me and turn that lie into the truth. As soon as I finished speaking, there was suddenly a slight movement at the door. Ivy looked over in surprise. "It must be the Alpha!" She hurried toward the door, ready to welcome him in. My wolf, Maya, had very sharp hearing. She soon realized that there was more than one set of footsteps outside the door. The door was pushed open with force. I heard Ivy suppressing her excitement as she said, "Welcome home, Alpha..." But before she could finish, her voice stopped abruptly. I did not turn around. In my consciousness, Maya grew restless and excited, almost wanting to break through the restraints of my body and rush straight toward her mate. Kael Foster stood in front of me and looked down at me. He was probably 6'3", almost blocking the light behind him. His features were deep and sharply defined, looking even colder and harder in the shadows. His thick, dark brown short hair was combed slightly back, revealing a full forehead. Kael had the kind of face that could make countless she-wolves' hearts race. But at this moment, there was not a trace of tenderness on that face that belonged to me. "As you said, Alpha. You finally came back." As he came closer, my skin suddenly reacted. Fine currents of electricity ran along my arm. It was a sensation my body had grown far too familiar with over the past three years. The mate bond had not disappeared. It had only been torn apart, yet it still remained in the memory of my skin. My fingers tightened around the teacup without my realizing it. The next second, a petite figure stepped out from behind him. Meg Shaw. She was an Omega she-wolf Kael had met in college. They had once loved each other deeply, but in the end, they had not ended up together. But now, their hands were clasped tightly together. What broke my heart the most was the way Kael looked at Meg with such tenderness. That gaze seemed to say that Meg was the destined home the Moon Goddess had personally given him. Maya howled in pain inside my mind. Olivia, why? Why is our mate holding another she-wolf's hand? I can't accept this. I don't like this. I endured the tearing pain in my chest and let out a cold laugh. "What? Is this the gift you prepared for our mating ceremony anniversary?" I glanced at Meg with contempt. "The mistress you brought home?" Kael let out a low growl. It was the posture an Alpha took when defending one of his own. "Alpha..." Ivy tried to step forward and say something. "Get out!" Kael directly issued an Alpha command, his tone allowing no resistance. Ivy looked at me uneasily, her eyes full of hesitation. But in the end, she could not defy the Alpha's command. She could only lower her head and silently leave the living room. The living room fell silent again. Meg was the first to speak. She gently shook Kael's arm and said softly, "Kael, maybe I should leave..." Kael held her face, his gaze gentle. "No, you need to stay." Then he looked at me. But Meg spoke first. "Luna Olivia, please don't blame Alpha. He is doing this for our pup." She gently touched her flat stomach, her face wearing a tender and loving expression. But when she raised her head and looked at me, there was a trace of smugness hidden in her eyes. "He just can't bear to let me and the pup wander outside, so he made this decision." My mind went blank in an instant. Pup? I instinctively raised my hand, wanting to touch my own lower abdomen. But the moment my fingertips moved, I gritted my teeth and forced myself to stop. Just this afternoon, the pack doctor had told me that I was already two months pregnant. I had carried this burning, precious surprise with me from sunset until dawn. Full of joy, I had wanted to wait for him to come back and then tell him this good news that belonged to us as soon as possible. But I waited from nightfall until dawn, and in the end, I did not receive even the slightest bit of joy. All I waited for was him bringing his old love home. And a cold, decisive order of banishment. Ivy seemed to want to say something else. But I had already hidden my tears away, pretending that I was still firm. "Mrs. Molly, help me pack my luggage. I don't want the smell of that cheap perfume of hers to stay on the furniture." "Yes, Luna... Miss Astor." Ivy asked quietly, "May I ask where you plan to go next?
