9. Clean Walls, Clean Start

The following text is loosely based upon true events. For those with thoughts of self-harm, etc should seek out the appropriate help right away. Remember, your life matters. Sorry for the short chapters. I promise to make it up soon.

David's POV

She was in a frenzy. Her white fur stained red, her amethyst eyes full of rage. She may be a medium-sized wolf, however, she terrified me. She had an alpha aura I could not understand. She was an omega yet possessed an alpha aura stronger than my own. I tried to approach her. That was clearly not the right course of action as she first tried to attack me before realizing who I was to her. Then she grew worse... I refused to shift... she got on top of me and began biting like she was going to kill. Instead, she backed off and tried to harm herself. Before she could, I jumped on her back and pinned her down so she could do nothing but whine. 

Once the whining turned to what sounded like human sobs, I got off and just cradled her. Something wasn't right about all of what I had been told. There was an element missing and I was determined to find that out but first priority is my Luna getting the help she clearly needed... No human could have withstood all she went through without a breakdown but what was in her past that we didn't know? I covered her with my jacket and picked her up running as fast as I could to my sister... Her hospital has a special ward for situations like this. I was hoping beyond hope that if anyone could help, it would be Sue. 

Angelica's POV

When I woke up from whatever psychotic break I had, I was in David's arms with nothing but his jacket covering my body from the eyes of the men we passed along the way. All I heard was him muttering something about Sue. Who was Sue? I just knew I could trust him. It took me a while to realize he was taking me to the hospital. I must have gotten hurt. I just cuddled into him and fell back asleep. I would trust him with my life. His intentions are pure and for once, I was willing to do all I could to appease him too.

"Angelica... You need to wake up... It's time for vitals."

Day three according to the nurses. I had been in this area of the hospital for three days. I don't really remember intake or anything. I think I spent the last few days in bed and crying. I actively avoided everyone and everything as much as I could. I even refused to eat. I had no interest in it. As usual, I would be compliant and let them take my blood pressure and temperature. In return, I would be allowed to go make myself some decaf coffee or go smoke. Neither appealed to me. I would sit in my own corner... my own bubble... I still could not piece together what happened that day I finally mind linked with David... 

"Well, it's nice to know I can finally get through to you. Acting on your behalf is getting challenging."

"Wait... Erica?"

"Yes. We need to talk but for now, just know I am handling things on this side of things. David will reach out soon I'm sure. Somehow, some way. For now, focus on you and getting better. We will catch you up on everything later once you are okay."

What the f**k did that mean? Erica would not answer and I was surrounded by mundanes so I couldn't simply growl to try and get the information I needed. A woman I somewhat recognized walked up to me and held her hand out to me. I just looked at her hand and back at her to try and decipher her intentions.

"It's okay. I'm Sue. You can trust me. I'm here to help you so you can get out of here. Come with me. Let's see what we can do."

We spent hours talking. It felt great to unload but something still seemed odd... I still couldn't piece together what happened with Seth and Jordan. Sue thought I mentally blocked it but was adamant that piecing that together was the key to my release. She apparently would be my sister in law if David and I became more. That alone just kind of blew my mind honestly...

"Excuse me, may I interrupt?"

I turned to find an orderly carrying a brown paper bag with my name on it in David's handwriting. Curiosity got the better of me as I opened it to find a few changes of clothes, a comfy blanket, and my favorite book. I couldn't help but smile as there was a handwritten note with his phone number on it. I was allowed to make outgoing calls and receive incoming calls but I didn't remember anyone's numbers. Sue just nodded to the orderly dismissing them. She then pulled out her phone and began the phone call that would change it all...

"This is David."

"Hey bro, I got your girl here on speakerphone."

"Did my package come for you, sweetie?"

"Yes thank you! But I just want to piece together what happened..."

"I knew you were going to ask that... I will not tell you as I do not know. We are trying to figure that out as it is. Have you been hearing your previous clan trying to talk to you?"

"Yes. But I thought it was to yell at me for not obeying Alpha Jordan or Seth. I remember trying to fight and protect myself but I don't remember much more than that."

"I need you to think long and hard as this is important and will impact what happens next. How did that fight end?"

I sighed as I took a deep breath and forced myself to relive that moment... I described how I fought Seth and easily overpowered him and he ran off. Jordan was not easily deterred. He kept fighting. Even as I pulled his ears off, pieces of his face, whatever parts I could until I had a firm hold of his throat in my mouth. I remembered biting down until he stopped moving. The betas stopped trying to attack me and ran off. I don't remember what happened. 

David took a deep breath and his voice almost showed pride yet fear at the same time.

"Angelica, you killed Alpha Jordan. By our laws, you are now Alpha/Luna. It is not heard of usually but it has happened before. Now the main question is, will the Crescent Moon clan follow you willingly, or will we have to force them to submit..."
