04 | First Kisses

I walked with Amanda and Nadine into my first lecture with Professor Ida, head of business studies.

Nadine was a lovely girl, she was a long black haired, Latina with dark eyes, tanned skin and pretty features. I don't understand how she ended up being friends with someone like Jen but I decided to keep that to myself. Her family has always been wealthy since her grandparents' parents so she was born rich but even so she was so down to earth and sweet. I could see myself being good friends with her that's for sure, especially since we had more in common that I first thought, we both liked the same music, same movies, same sense of style and we both cheered, she encouraged me to try out for the cheer team that she was captain of and I of course accepted, I thought I'd never cheer again after having to leave my old squad behind but it was in my blood, I couldn't not do it, I couldn't go through my college years never competing and being on the side lines cheering for our football team to win, it would be unnatural.

We took our seats near the back of the class, I was laughing and joking with the girls when I saw Trey walk in.

Oh s**t, I'm never going to get away from this guy!

I lowered my head and avoided eye contact at all cost but not before I notice him notice me and smirk before turning to his friends and saying something making them look my way and say something back to him in return.

"Oh em gee did you just see how Trey looked at you?!" Gasped Nadine.

"He was totally checking you out!" Amanda gushed.

"He was not checking me out." I retorted.

"He so was!"

I decided not to get into it with them, but all lesson all they went on about was me and Trey, like something was going on with us, which there was at first, kinda, I admit but I clearly shot that down last night when I told him I wasn't interested.

The bell rang and I hid behind Nadine and Amanda trying my best to evade Trey. That all went down the drain when I walked out the classroom and there he was waiting for me.

"Alyssa." He called after me as I tried my hardest to speed walk the opposite way.

"Alyssa, Trey's calling you." Smugly smirked Amanda.

"I know, shh, just keep walking." I said almost a whisper.

"Alyssa!" He called again.

He quickly walked in front of me, walking backwards.

"Are you deaf?" He asked smiling.

"No why? Did you say something?" I replied innocently, playing dumb.

"I think you know I did." He raised a brow still smiling. "My boys having a party tonight, I wanted to know if you wanted to come... y'know with me?" He stopped walking and rubbed the back of his neck.

I could hear Nadine and Amanda giggling slightly. I was stunned. I told him I wasn't interested and yet he was still trying it with me. Amanda realised I hadn't answered him and gently elbowed me.

"Sounds good but unfortunately I'm washing my hair tonight. Sorry." I began to walk off when he did a little backwards run to stay in front of me.

"You're hair looks good, please just come?" He pleaded.

"Yeah, come Alyssa, we're going to be there." Amanda smiled.

I sighed.

"I really gotta wash my hair though."

"You're hairs beautiful, and clean." Amanda smiled through gritted teeth giving me her wide eye look.

I looked at Nadine who's smiling like a lottery winner, then to Trey who's giving me pleading eyes causing me to let out a loud sigh.

"Fine, I'll be there."

Trey slapped his hands together and cupped my face. "You're a star, you won't regret it! See you tonight!" Then ran off down the corridor to his mates.

"WTF did I just witness?!" Nadine said stunned staring into fin air.

"I know, right?" Amanda said just as stunned.

"What?" I shrugged.

"All the years I've known Trey I have never, and I mean never seen him beg a girl to go to a party with him, let alone wait for them after class." Nadine informed me.

"He must really like you, Alyssa." Amanda joined in.

"I really don't see him like that, I mean he's attractive yeah but I just want to get through the next few years, drama free."

"Good luck with that." Nadine scoffed. "If VD has you in their eye sight, you will never make it through this school drama free."

"Great." I groaned.

The rest of the day went fast and smooth until the end of my last class, I walked out with Amanda and all of a sudden everyone's phone went off with text chimes, including mine.

'VD to everyone - Well well well, Vista Falls' very own bad boy Trey Lake was seen begging new money, Alyssa Parkes to Brett Simmons' party tonight, that's a first, I'm guessing Jen Ashley isn't going to be happy about this one, LOL'

Ugh! Who was this no life asshole! Gossiping about everyone like it's the daily news!

"Who is this pest?!" I scoffed.

"No one actually knows." Amanda asked flipping through her phone.

"They seriously need to get a life, who even cares?"

"Uh, like everyone in this school. They only gossip about people who are somebodies and girl, you're a somebody, so be careful of what you do, you never know who's watching."

"It's like being in the Big Brother house, for real."

Amanda shrugged. "Last year I got tripped in the cafeteria by my then crush and VD were all over it outting me to the entire school as crushing hard on him, I was so embarrassed I didn't leave my room for 2 whole weeks!"

"That's awful!"

"I know. Then they sent another one telling everyone about me loosing my v card at the age of 18 to some looser from another school, that was another embarrassment I had to live through, but it blows over eventually."

"All it's doing to me is getting on my nerves and grassing me up to my brothers." I rolled my eyes.

"They're friends with Trey, right?"

"Right, which is why I'm not allowed anything to do with him." I shrugged.

"Is the brother that dropped you off, single?"

"Ew, Amanda no, you could do so much better."

"Oh, I don't think so, he's so dreamy." She gave me a day dreaming look.

"Gross. Stop"

"Is he single or not and I promise I'll stop."

"Yes he's single, and there's a reason for that. He's a pig. He's my brother, but he's a pig."

Amanda just laughed as we made our way to the school café. We ordered our coffees and sat at a table waiting for them to be brought over when Jen and another girl walked over to us.

"Hey, new money." She hissed.

"Yes?" I said sassily.

"Stay. Away. From Trey."

"Maybe you should tell him that, honey." I gave her a fake apathetic look.

"I'm warning you, Alyssa. I can make you life very difficult here and I won't hesitate in doing so." She spat crossing her arms.

"Oh no. What ever will I do." I waved my hands mocking being scared of her words.

"Watch your back, new money." She flipped her hair over her shoulder and stomped away.

"Someone feels threatened." Laughed Amanda.

"I guess so. All the more reason to go to this party tonight." I gave her a wide eye smirk.

"Now you're talking my language, come, lets go get ready!"

She practically dragged me back to the dorm room to get ready although we had hours to go anyway.

I was sat on my bed in my towel having just got out the shower when Nick Face Timed me.

"Hello Nick." I answered already knowing what he's going to say.

"That's the second text VD has sent about you and Trey, didn't Theo already tell you to stay away from him?"

"He did. I guess by the text he told the wrong person."

"Hmm. Now I'm telling you. Stay away from him, Lyss."

"I tried, he doesn't make it easy, y'know."

"He's no good for you, I'm saying this because I care about you."

"I know, I get it. I'll stay away from him."

"Good, now tell me... Is your room mate single or what's her deal?"

"Her deal?"

"Yeah y'know is she seeing someone? Is she straight?"

"Ugh, you two make me sick."

"She's been asking about me ain't she?" He smiled like a cheshire cat.

I looked up to Amanda who was waving her hands and mouthing the words 'no, don't say anything.' It was time for pay back for earlier today with Trey.

"She has as it goes, she thinks you're so damn dreamy." I mocked.

"Really? She does huh?" He smirked.

"Yeah, she thinks you're so hot." I said knowing I was winding her up.

I looked up at her again to see her with her head buried in her hands shaking her head. I couldn't help but laugh.

"Are you taking the piss?"

"No, never. I'm being dead serious."

"So... Hook a brother up."

"You got it. Under one condition."

"Should of known it. Go on, what is it?"

"You and Theo stop telling me what to do!"

"Ooooo that's a hard one."

"No deal, no hook up."

I saw him think it over for a minute and then sigh.

"Fine, deal. As long as you come straight to us if you need us."

"Deal."

"Pleasure doing business with you, sis."

"And you. Now get lost, I have a party to get ready for."

"I'll see you there."

I rolled my eyes and hung up to him laughing.

"I can't believe you just told on me like that!" Amanda exclaimed.

"Oh what was that Nick?"

"WHAT?!" Amanda squealed looking like the ground sucked her into a hole.

I burst out laughing, I laughed so hard I made myself cry.

"Oh my god you're an asshole!" She gasped.

"I'm sorry I couldn't resist." I said still laughing.

She threw a pillow at me and ordered me to get ready.

I did my make up full glam with lashes, winged eyeliner, nude lipstick and contour. I styled my hair in long loose waves, and changed into a nude coloured denim button up skirt with a white off the shoulder top and a pair of nude wedges. I took one last look in the mirror before leaving with with Amanda to meet Nadine and Amy.

"Alyssa! You look hot, girl." Nadine beamed as she pulled me into a hug.

"So do you, very leggy." I winked.

"My best feature." She smiled as she flipped her hair over her shoulder.

We set off to Brett's dorm room for the party and as we reached the corridor that was again spilling out with people holding red solo cups, we made our way through the crowd and headed inside the room.

"I'll get us all a drink. Amy come with?" Nadine smile as she walked over to the drink station that was set up.

"So did you send your brother my number?" Amanda asked shyly as she scanned the room looking for him.

"I did, has he not text you yet?"

"Not yet. Do you think he will?"

"I'm almost certain he will, he thinks he's cool so he'll try play hard to get with ya."

"Maybe I'll play him at his own game."

"Do it, give him a taste of his own medicine."

"Who's the him we're talking about." I heard Nick's voice from behind me as he placed his arm round my shoulder.

"Actually you." I smugly replied.

I could see Amanda's cheeks burn bright red

"Nick, you know Amanda right?"

"I do. Hey, how's it going?" He smirked at her placing his other arm around her shoulder.

"I'm good, how's it going with you?" She flirted.

"Even better now you're here."

You couldn't help but see the blush on Amanda's face.

"Wanna dance?" Nick asked her holding his hand out.

Without hesitation she took his hands before looking at me for approval.

"Go! Have fun." I smiled.

Nick led her into the crowd of people and began to dance with her, she looked so happy and to be honest, so did he. I had to admit it but they did look cute together and in all honesty would make a good couple given their personalities.

"Hey, where did Amanda go?" Nadine said as she handed me a drink.

I nodded over to where she was dancing with Nick.

"Is that Nick?!" She gasped.

"You know him?" I asked confused as to how she knew my brother.

"Of course I know him, he slept with my sister last year then never called her back!"

"Oh my god, no he didn't!" I was stunned.

"He so did, she was heartbroken, she really liked him too."

"I'm so sorry!"

"Why are you saying sorry?" She asked puzzled.

"He's my brother." I admitted.

"Nick is your brother?!"

I nodded, slightly ashamed which was a new one for me, I was never ashamed of my brothers, no matter what they did.

"I never knew that!"

"Yup. And Theo."

"Theo Parkes?"

I nodded again.

"He is so f*****g hot!" She blurted out slapping her hand over her mouth instantly.

"What is it with you girls and my brothers. It makes me cringe!" I shuddered.

"What can I say? Your family must have good genes." She shrugged like it was nothing.

I got over the conversation with Nadine, I actually really liked her and Amy was a sweet girl too, she also wanted to say sorry for how Jen acted towards me and pointed out she was nothing like her and that they had been friends since 5th grade explaining how she used to be nice until she reached senior year in high school. We spent most of the night dancing like no one was watching and drinking like alcoholics when I felt a pair of large strong arms wrap around my waist and begin dancing with me. At first I thought it was Trey but as I turned my head to see who it was it was some large, blonde haired guy with dark eyes and a sadistic smirk on his face, the smell of stale beer on his breath made me want to heave. I tried to push him off me but he wasn't budging.

"Get off me. What you playing at?" I exclaimed still trying to remove myself from his grip.

"C'mon gorgeous, just dance with me." He slurred.

"No, get off me now or I'm plunking grapes, got it?!"

"You wanna touch my grapes, go ahead."

"Dude what is wrong with you?! Puta!" Nadine shouted at him.

"Move I'm not talking to you, I'm talking to the pretty blonde."

"You got 2 seconds to get your f*****g hands off me." I gritted my teeth warning him.

Within seconds of me saying that I felt a tight grip on my arm as he tried to pull me out the room.

"Nadine!"

"Alyssa! Christ, someone help her damn!" Nadine exclaimed.

I kept trying to pull back but he was a lot stronger than I was, I scratched and tugged at his fingers that were wrapped around the top of my arm. I started to panic and I knew I was drunk but not drunk enough to not know what was going on. My mind raced to Nick, where was he? Why wasn't he coming to help me? Where was Trey? He was the only reason I was here! Just as he was about to pull me out the door with Nadine close behind me I felt the guys grip release my arm and someone else's arm push me behind them, it happened so fast it took me a minute to comprehend what was happening, then I looked up to see Trey standing in front of me with the guys neck in his large, manly hands. Nadine's arms were wrapped around my shoulders, I could hear she was saying something to me but I couldn't take in what she was saying. I watched on in shock as Trey landed punch after punch into the guys face knocking him to the floor. I saw two other guys pull Trey off him with a struggle but eventually they managed. I was still in shock as Trey grabbed my hand and dragged me out the room.

"Take care of her, Trey!" I heard Nadine call from behind.

He didn't say anything back. I just followed him, speed walking trying to keep up with him. He pulled me round the corner to an empty corridor and pushed me against the wall, trapping me in his embrace with his hands cupping either side of my face.

"Did he hurt you?!" He said low and husky.

"N-no." I managed to stammer out.

"Why didn't you come and look for me?!" He banged his fist against the wall beside my head making me flinch slightly.

"I- I was dancing with the girls."

"f**k sake if I wasn't there he could of done anything to you!"

"And how is that my fault?!" I snapped.

"It isn't." He sighed. "The thought of another mans hands on you drives me crazy."

He stared into my eyes with his bright green orbs, my heart beat picked up rapidly the closer he got.

"What is it with your obsession with me?" I scoffed.

"Because I want you and don't want anyone else to have what I want."

"I don't think that's a good idea."

"Well I do."

He grabbed me by my jaw with one hand pulling my face to meet his. He crashed his lips onto mine with hunger, pushing me into the wall, inching his body closer to mine. I rested my hands on his solid chest as the tingles ran through my body like mini electric shocks all over. Our kiss grew more passionate and wanted when his tongue slipped into my mouth to meet mine, he tasted so good, like minty fresh chewing gun and his aftershave filled my sense making me want him closer than I've ever wanted anyone before. We both pulled back, panting, gasping for air into our empty lungs, his forehead resting on mine. We remained like this for a moment until he broke the silence.

"f**k, I've wanted to do that since I first met you."

I remained silent still trying to stop my lungs from burning, thinking in the back of my mind that VD was going to text the whole school about this.
