Third-person POV
As Cole approaches the school's main gates, he knows he has to get his head in the game. He has to stick to the story Mikael told him to use. He arrives at the gates. They are massive, made from pure iron. Cole can see that this place was built centuries ago. He is amazed by the architectural work and the beauty of the school. He can see security cameras. He also sees an intercom system with a screen.
He presses the button on the intercom system. An older lady's face appears on the screen.
"Yes, how can I help you, young man?" The lady asks.
"Hi, I'm looking for Emilia. My name is Cole. I'm a werewolf and would like to join your school." Cole replies.
"Just a second, I will be there right away." The lady replies.
Who can this boy be? How does he know my name, and how does he know of our school? I have to go and investigate. He could be a spy or an assassin. I wonder if he is truly a werewolf, as he said. There is only one way to find out. I will give him some of the witch's truth serum then we will know if he is telling the truth or not as he will not be able to resist the serum. But, first, let me go and meet him at the gate. If indeed he is a werewolf as he said he is, I will bring him inside the school, take him to my office, and question him there. Let me go and meet with the boy," Emilia thinks to herself.
Emilia rushes to the main gate and opens it to meet Cole.
"I see you were not lying about the werewolf part, at least. I can sense the wolf inside you." Emilia says to Cole.
"Tell me, how did you know of this place and that it is a school for the supernatural?" Emilia asks Cole.
"I am an orphan. Both my parents were killed when I was still young, and I lived with my grandmother. She passed away about a year ago, and ever since, I've been traveling around on my Grandfather's old motorcycle, looking for a place I could call home. After going from town to town, traveling miles and miles, I finally got to Greenfield, the town just a few miles from your school, and I met a man there. I asked him for some money to get some food, and as he was a vampire, he could sense that I was a werewolf. The man asked me my story, and I told him that I was looking for a place to fit in, even work or anything that could help me. He told me of this school and that he himself was once a student here. He told me to ask for Emilia as she would be able to help me, and that's just what I did," Cole replies.
"What was the name of the man you met at the town, Cole? Surely you should have gotten his name?" Emilia asks Cole.
"He said his name was Stephen Johnson, ma'am," Cole replies
"Ah, Stephen, he was a student here indeed, but still, just to make sure, let's go inside. I still have a few questions for you. We can just give Stephen a call as well just to make sure he does know you and did indeed send you here."
A while ago, Mikael already did his research on the school before sending Cole there. One night, one of his compelled vampire minions met Stephen at a bar as he sensed Stephen was a vampire and thought that because he is local, he could befriend him and get some information from him. The two vampires had some drinks, and Stephen told the minion that he grew up in Greenfield and attended a magical school here. The minion went to the bar's toilet and made a cellphone call to Mikael to inform him about Stephen as Mikael was already in Greenfield. Mikael went to the bar and waited outside the bar for Stephen. As Stephen went to his car, Mikael knocked him out, and he and the minion threw him in Mikael's car and went to the house Mikael bought there. Mikael injected Stephen with the serum to compel him and told Stephen to tell him everything he knew. He told Mikael that Emilia was the principal there and that Melissa, Gabriel, and the child were there. Mikael then compelled Stephen to confirm the story Cole will one day tell Emilia about how he knew of the school should Emilia or anyone at the school ever ask him.
Emilia takes Cole into the school and leads him to her office. The school is empty and quiet as all the students are asleep already. As they get to Emilia's office, she asks Cole to sit down and goes to her cabinet. Knowing she will get the truth serum to inject him with, Cole tells Emilia he is really thirsty asks Emilia for a glass of water before they start. Emilia goes to her private little kitchen at the back to get Cole a glass of water. As she goes out of the office, Cole quickly takes out a small glass vile, opens it, and consumes the black liquid content inside. Mikael knew they would use the witch's truth serum on Cole, so he gave him an ancient potion he got from his allied dark witches, which only they know off, to counter the effects of the truth serum Cole will be receiving. Emilia returns and gives Cole the water he asked for. He drinks some of it and puts down the glass.
"Now, Cole, I'm going to inject you with a truth serum just to make sure you are telling the truth, is that fine with you?" Emilia asks Cole.
"No problem, ma'am, you can do that. I have no objection, for I know I am telling the truth," Cole replies.
Emilia injects the greenish serum into Cole's upper right arm.
"Now, let us give it a few minutes to get to work. Then we can start," Emilia says to Cole.
A few minutes go by, and Emilia starts to question Cole.
"Let's start with the basics. The story you told me at the gate about how you are an orphan and that both your parents were killed when you were a child and you grew up with your grandmother, is that all true?" Emilia asks Cole.
"It's all true, ma'am." Cole answers.
"As you are a werewolf was both your parents' werewolves as well?" Emilia asks.
"Yes, ma'am, they were both werewolves." Cole answers.
"How exactly did they die?" Emilia asks.
"My father owned a rich and powerful vampire some money, and as he couldn't repay the vampire, he sent his vampire minions after my parents to kill them and succeeded in that," Cole replies.
"And how are you still alive then?" Emilia asks.
"My father knew the vampire's minions would come for them soon and took me to stay with my grandmother of whom the vampires did not know of. My mother decided to stay with my father as they knew her, and she knew she had to make this sacrifice to die with my father to save me." Cole replies.
"The story you told me of how you traveled from town to town with your grandfather's motorcycle looking for a place, is that true? So you are not a spy or an assassin, perhaps?" Emilia asks.
"It's all true ma'am, I traveled almost this whole year looking for an opportunity to make a living somewhere, and no ma'am, I am not a spy nor an assassin." Cole answers.
"Have you ever killed anyone before Cole?" Emilia asks.
"No, ma'am, I have never killed anyone in my life before." Cole answers.
"Last question, the story you told me about how you met Stephen in Greenfield and how he told you about this school and me, is that all true?" Emilia asks.
"It is all true, ma'am," Cole answers.
"Then you won't mind then if I give him a quick call just to check out your story. I keep in contact with some of my old students, and Stephen is one of them." Emilia says to Cole.
"Please go ahead, ma'am. I will also feel at peace if you confirm it with him." Cole answers.
Emilia takes her cell phone and gives Stephen a call.
"Hello, Stephen, it's Emilia here. I'm sorry to bother you at this hour, but I need your help." Emilia says to Stephen over the phone.
"Hi, Ms. Emilia, it's good to hear from you. Don't worry. It's no bother. How can I help you?" Stephen replies.
"I have a werewolf boy here called Cole, he claims to have met you in town, and you told him about the school and to ask for me. Is that true?" Emilia asks Stephen
"Yes, Ms. Emilia, it is true, the boy looked scared, hungry, and lost, and I knew the school would be a great place for him to get onto the right path and live a better life. So please forgive me if I imposed, but I felt so sorry for the boy and knew you would be able to help him just as you helped me before," Stephen answers.
"Don't worry about that, Stephen. You did the right thing by sending him here. Thank you so much for being so helpful and clearing up this matter for me." Emilia says to Stephen, and she hangs up the phone.
"Well, Cole, it seems like you are telling the truth. Are those old rags you are wearing all you have?" Emilia says to Cole
"No, ma'am, I have more rags in my backpack," Cole says with a little smile.
Emilia smiles back at Cole.
"Well, you will need better clothes. I have a few school uniforms that should fit you, and I also have lots of clothes left behind from previous students so that we can get some there for you as well. I have a room for you as well, so let us go get that uniforms and clothes and get you to your room." Emilia says to Cole.
"Thank you so much, ma'am. I don't know how to thank you. You are so kind to me." Cole replies.
"Oh, you can repay me by doing some chores around here, of course. All the students help out with the chores. We rely mostly on private funding, so we cannot employ too many workers; thus, the students have to help out as well." Emilia says to Cole.
"No problem, ma'am, I'm a hard worker, and after what you did for me, chores will be a blast," Cole replies.
They get the school uniforms and clothes for Cole, and Emilia leads him to his room.
"Here is your room Cole. You can get settled in, and there is a shower you can use to get yourself clean. Breakfast is at six and assembly starts at seven tomorrow morning in the main hall so don't be late. You should be able to find your way around here easily. Now take a shower and go to bed. It is late already," Emilia says to Cole and takes her to leave.
Cole closes his room door and takes a hot shower. He gets into bed but is too excited to go to sleep immediately. He can't believe he succeeded in the first and most important part of his mission, to get into the school. He thinks of how he fooled Emilia and how easily he has done it by following Mikael's plan.
"Now I have to blend in as a student. Befriending this girl won't be easy, but seeing as I succeeded in getting into the school, I should easily fulfill the second part of my mission. Mikael is going to be so proud of me once he finds out I got into the school," Cole thinks to himself as he starts to drift off and falls asleep.
