The lucky one

    "Hey Mel  how are you feeling" i woke up to a dozen people standing and gasping by the end of a hospital bed? What?Where am I and who the hell are these people? " We were so so so worried about you honey."    I close my eyes for a minute trying to recap how the heck i got here. "Are you my mom?" i ask afraid of the slim blonde with crows eyes staring into my soul with her wet,gentle grey-blue eyes.She nodded and broke down in a wailing sob, I'm sure everyone on the whole floor could hear it. I just stared at her unsure how to ask the linging question in my head.   The doctors came running in and rushed everyone out of the room, I could hear chatter in the hallway but they were talking so low, like a whisper. "Hi Melody, were so happy your awake now! I'm Dr.Reilly, your family has been here for days waiting for you to wake up." "Uhmm hi" i managed to sputter out."Okay Melody I'm just gonna ask you some routine questions, is that okay?" "Sure" "Okay Melody, Whats your birthday?" "July twenty-third nineteen ninety-six" "Alright, how old are you?" "seventeen" "Okay Melody I'm going to schedule some tests to get done"    He rambled on about different tests and scans hes sending me off to get to make sure everythings okay  and I just need one answer..  "Its Dr.Reilly right?Can i ask you something before you go?" "I'll try my best to answer it." "What happened to me?" "Well I think its best to have your parents in here for that okay lets just get the results back first"
