Macy hadn’t heard back from any of the office jobs over the last few days and headed in to town to check on waitressing positions. She had talent there and shouldn’t have trouble getting a job, but it was going to cost her if she was going to make enough to pay the bills. In most places you needed to work dinner shifts to get the good tip money, which was going to require hiring a sitter.
She wished that Chris was just a little bit older and able to stay home alone for a while. No sense in wishing though, things are the way they are, resigning herself to this life, she parked and got out.
