finding an antidote

1918 Words
Episode 8 George quickly opened the first part of the old pages, the book was intentionally kept in that part of the house so no one including himself can get full access to it easily due to the history behind the availability of the book in his house as a Cougar in the first place, he went ahead to quickly read through the lines as he starts from the middle. "Werewolves came from the preceding Hero of Lycaon, who is the son of Pelasgus and eventually he incensed the god of greek when he served him a feast made from the lingers of a child. As a penalty for his wrongs, the god of greek turned Lycaon and his children into wolves" George read this but flip through again as it does not look like what he was looking for, he fetched a hand full of the dusty book which has been covered by terminate tracks and some other pages are beginning to melt on each other while the ink was no longer clear, some pages faint while others could be seen slightly, he got to a page that caught his attention and stopped immediately bringing his lamp closer to the book as he adjusted his glasses and just like before he refused to start from the beginning of the page. "The werewolf is allowed to dismiss his or her mate for any justification but it indicates that he or she dismisses the gifts of the moon God and the dismissal will take time to complete" George read this out loud and hissed sitting back on his chair as he sighed out of frustration and just when he was looking at the lower part of the same page, he got interested in a paragraph and went ahead again to read hoping it of use to him. "For a werewolf to dismiss his or her mate they need to warn it to the person's face that they are dismissing them while the moon God will drastic the pain in three months, those three months will be uncomfortable for both as the treaty would seek to survive the severing" George read out loud again and this time he became alerted with so many questions in his head. "Was she rejected?" He asked himself and at once he wished he can ask her questions. "What it she had never even met her mate and she was never even marked then this is not applied to her" he said again talking to himself in the dark room. "Werewolves rehabilitate more rapidly than any other dwellers if they are wounded so it clarifies why she has no scares but what could have happened to her?" He asked rhetorically as he scratched his head like that would help as he read on. "Intensifying the union is the separating of these interweave spirits and the discomforts there is to penalize the one who dismissed and to bolster the one who was dismissed but some wolves find it hard during this period that they might die or suffer from insanity... what?" George became terrified wondering if one of the two options happens to her then what will he do with her? He shut the book for a while and walked out of the room only to find Emily in front of the door with her face down as she was not expecting to be caught. "What are you doing here young lady?" He asked her with his hands in his tight jean pocket. "Nothing I just..." She was digging her skull for the lies she should tell him but was lost and caught in the middle. George let his hands off his pocket and hold them to his chest. "I am listening Emily" he said to her as he waited patiently knowing she has nothing to say. " I am sorry" was all that she could say when George squatted in front of her and raised her chin. "Stay out of trouble Emily, I am warning you" he said to her and went ahead to the room where Ava was kept and just when he opened the blanket he realised her skin was different from how it looked when they brought her in, it gradually changing from its milky skin to a pure white shade and George could identify immediately that her blood was running dry and she needs immediate help to keep her alive, he remembered his main purpose of seeing her in the first place which was to know if she had been marked. He turned her neck around and found two more just in the middle of her neck and was set back when he wished that should not be the reason. "f**k!, There should be other reasons why she is like this" George muttered as he placed his hands on his waist wondering what could be the antidote to this, George is only conversant with the antidotes in healing his Caliber though he knew few antidotes for Wolves on minor issues like pain relief and a cure for rejection was beyond his horizon and on second thought what if she was not rejected and something else happened to her, why was she outside her pack when she should be among them and taken care of even if she was rejected. George sighed and went back to the room where he kept the book and this time he was more interested in the table of content to take him directly to the questions in his head. "Silver a werewolf weakness" he found this title towards the end of the page and he was interested in it immediately as he opened the page, he was not interested at the beginning of the page as he went ahead to read from the middle to avoid introductions of things he was aware of before. "Alchemists are aware that silver was before the moon and that gold came from the sun while mercury from mercury and iron from mars. Silver, therefore, was written as a crescent moon other than Ag, so it now makes sense that a moon-powered creature would be susceptible to moon metal" George sighed and wondered if this could be but with all of these it, there are no clear connections that she was inflicted by the silver since she would have been dead by now, he was becoming tired as he reluctantly opened to the next page and found another title. "Wolfsbane" he began to read through. The plant which is rightly referred to by experts as Aconitum napellus, is the widespread understood remedy or rocket against the werewolves this isn't just used for the only purpose of fighting the wolves or those animals of the night, it also contains many other dark and toxic mysteries "Wow!" George exclaimed. "How come have never come across this before" he said to himself sitting back. as he continued reading. "This affects werewolves and if this is given, wolfsbane severely diminishes them, making them appear sick. Direct skin connection with wolfsbane causes them to be scorch so severely that it causes their surface and mucous skins to smoke slightly at the site of contact appearing from the contact area" this was vital information to George but he knew at once that this was not the case as all descriptions did not match their state of Ava, it could only be that she was rejected and that should be the sole reason why she was out of her pack, George thought to himself and knew all he needs now is an ailment cure the rejection as he wondered if that is even possible since this is doing of the moon goddess, all the same, he went back to the shelf as he returned the book and went In search of another one that could help him, and fortunately,y, he found this one titled, "Antidotes for All Inhabitants" the book was huge and George wondered how it got there. George got the book to the same room as it is more comfortable and his lamp was permanent. kept there for him to be able to study there, he opened the book and found the piece of warning at the beginning of the page. "This book is purposely for the help of professional Alchemist as the terms are used for professional register terms and as an alchemist we expect utmost patience and sense of inventory to achieve your antidotes" he opened it confidently and read through it and as he reads, he found different interesting antidotes and cure that he got carried away from his main purpose but all the same he did not even come across the page where the antidotes he needs for Ava was. But reading through the book was not boring at all as he found different information, he kept on reading but got tired eventually as he slept off tiredly. Ava woke up with an eye open and then another as her finger twitched, she started coughing uncontrollably and eventually she was able to get up but the cough was not stopping and she was so imbalance that she found herself hitting her chest, Ava continued coughing when she eventually coughed out blood that was so thick and black like it was poisoned, Ava hit herself on the room floor helplessly that she wished she would just die and be Fred from the pain as she called out for help and no one was answering when she suddenly fell to the floor with force and her head started to bleed, her wounds were not healing like it used as she eventually closed her eyes. George woke up immediately and his body was wet with tears as he got back from his nightmare, he sighed and wondered what Ava was going through as he rushed out of the room to check on her, the moment he opened the door he heard her cough like he had dreamed and ran to her room, she was up and coughing profusely but she was not coughing out blood as he had seen but she was restless and pained as he felt pity for her wondering what had happened, he got attracted to the sound of a cry in the Conner on the room as he found Emily, he looked at her and also found a flask on the floor close to her and a lid with the green chemical. "Emily, what have you done?" George shouted and for the first time he found himself raising his voice at her but that was not the issue now, his harsh voice made Emily cry more as she ran to him and held him by his legs in fear but George got away from her and took the lid to smell the content. "What have you done Emily? I am yet to be sure about this antidote" he shouted. "And I have asked you not to ever enter that room, haven't I?" He shouted again pointing towards the chemical room. "What if she dies?" He said pointing at the helpless Ava while Emily cried more. "Father! I was just trying to help" she said and went on her knees while they surprisingly watched Ava go down on her knees and eventually to the floor as she closed her eyes. George closed his eyes in disappointment As he dragged himself to the floor while Emily began a fresh tone of tears as cried loudly. "I am sorry, I did not mean to"
