Clang… CLANG! The banging of metal hurts my head. I feel like I’ve been hit by a truck. I tentatively open my eyes. The room is dark but I can easily make out the bars of a jail cell. Beyond them a thin man is sitting on a chair writing something on a clipboard. The shifting of my weight creaks the bed and the man stops and looks at me from over the thin gold-framed glasses on his face. “Awake, I see. How are you feeling?” How do I feel? I bounce the question around my head a bit. I’m not sure how to answer it to be honest. Physically I feel like I was scraped off the bottom of a shoe, but mentally….. I can’t describe it.
