Chapter 16 - Jane

1785 Words
"Tell me, what do you want right now?" Only one thing crosses my mind when Kadis asks me. I almost blurt it out, but I manage to catch myself. But the weight of the day settles on me and suddenly I feel a strong need to tell him the truth. My mouth forms the thought into reality before I can stop it again. “You, Kadis. I want you.” What is going on with me? I’m so embarrassed! I can feel my face getting hot. Like someone like Kadis would actually want me. I just want to crawl into bed and die. I get ready to make an excuse and bolt when suddenly Kadis pulls me close again. I sneak a look at him and his mouth is curled into his trademark smirk. Like he was the proverbial cat who finally caught the bird. His hands travel down my back and cup my rear. His touch leaves behind sparks in its wake. He lifts me up to my tip toes and presses me against him. Before I can register what is happening, his lips touch mine. Everything in my head disappears and I’m left with nothing but thoughts of Kadis. I give up fighting anymore. Why deny it? I want Kadis. I want him bad. I kiss him back hard, opening my mouth to him. He tightens his grip on my butt and grinds his pelvis into mine. I can feel his hardness. I’m so horny right now, I just about can’t stand it. An ache of desire forms in my nether regions. I run my hands up Kadis’ arms and tangle my fingers into the hair at the nape of his neck. I pull him down closer to me and kiss him deeper. His tongue explores my mouth and I can’t hold back a moan of pleasure. I want more. “Jane?” I pull back to see who called me and realize that someone is standing a few feet away. My eyes adjust to the lighting and I quickly recognize him. “Michael?” I feel Kadis’ arms stiffen around me, but he doesn’t let me go. Instead he changes his grip and turns me so we are facing Michael. His arm is still around my waist pulling me to his side. “Well, Hello Michael. How nice to see you again.” Kadis’ voice is super sweet, but I can feel his tension. Michael ignores him. “Are you okay, Jane?” Heat rises to my face as I think about what he just witnessed. “Yeah, uh, I’m good. Thank you for asking.” He finally gives Kadis his attention. “You take care of her. A lot of creeps around here.” Michael’s voice sounds weird, and Kadis tightens his grip on my hip, but doesn’t answer. “Jane, it was good to see you. Give me a call sometime. G’d night.” “Bye Michael.” He gives one last look at me, his eyes almost luminescent in the lamplight, then turns and walks away. Kadis relaxes his hold on me and turns me to face him again. “Now, where were we?” But the intensity of the moment is gone and I control myself. For heaven’s sake, we’re in the middle of the park! “I think I should go home now, Kadis.” His arms tighten for a second then let go. Crap, I screwed up! He’s probably mad at me, but now that I’m thinking straight again I think it’s a little too public to continue. Kadis backs a few steps away, takes a deep breath, and runs his hands through his hair. “I’m sorry.” I start towards him. “It’s alright Jane. I just can’t look at you right now or my erection won’t go away. Give me a minute.” I walk over to a nearby bench and wrap Kadis’ jacket around me to ward off the chill that has settled in for the night. I watch as he stands facing away from me at the edge of the pool of light created by the street lamp. I can see his shoulders rise and drop as he takes deep breaths. His face is tilted to the sky and he is shaking his hands like he’s trying to get blood flow back to his fingertips. Finally after a few minutes, he turns and walks back to me. Holding his hand out for me to take, he helps me to my feet. I can’t read his expression. Silence surrounds us as we walk towards my building. I don’t know what to think. Is he mad? We reach my place in a very short time. Walking me up to the doors, Kadis holds my hand in his. “Well Jane. Tonight is certainly a night I won’t be forgetting. Can we do it again tomorrow?” Relief flows through me. “I’d love to Kadis.” I punch in my code and hold the door open. “How about breakfast. My place.” Pulling him through the door with me, I lead him up the stairs and into my apartment. -------------------- I wake up to the sun shining through my windows. It's late morning by the looks of it. Kadis is snuggled up behind me, his arm thrown around my waist. I just want to lay here a moment. I close my eyes and go over last night. It was amazing. After some initial awkwardness, the night was spent exploring each other. It started out slow and tentative, eventually building to a c****x we both enjoyed. Unfortunately, I’m starting to get a little uncomfortable laying in the same position. I try to stretch and move without waking Kadis up, but as I do, his arm tightens around my waist. “You keep wiggling like that and we won’t be getting out of this bed for a while.” he whispers in my ear and I can feel him start to get hard again. Rolling over to face him, I reach down in between us as I look him in the eye. “What makes you think I want to get out of bed?” -------------------- “That smells great!” Kadis says as he walks into the kitchen after his shower. Though technically it’s now lunch and not breakfast, I just finished cooking the bacon. Go figure, guys always seem to drool over bacon. Smiling to myself, I make our plates and sit across from him. We eat in a comfortable silence and when we are done Kadis states that since I cooked, he will clean. He shoos me out of the kitchen and sends me finish getting ready. I have a few appointments to go to, the lawyer, the funeral home, and the bank. I blink away my tears as I find myself thinking about Bea. She would have been ecstatic that I found someone. I think she would have loved Kadis. But I will never get to introduce them. The tears overflow and I cry silently as I sit at the end of the bed. I can hear Kadis closing cupboards, so I quickly run to the bathroom and wash my face in cold water. By the time I come out Kadis is sitting back at the table scrolling through his phone. I walk behind him, wrap my arms around his shoulders and nuzzle my face into his neck. I breathe in his scent, I can’t get enough of it. I feel him shift and suddenly I’m spun around and find myself on his lap. “You little vixen, do you realize what you do to me?” I pretend to be coy and look up at him through my lashes. I run my hands over his chest, then trail my fingertips over his stomach dangerously close to his belt. “I have no idea what you are talking about.” Pulling me to him, he kisses me hungrily. Letting me go, he gives a small growl. “Jane, seriously, you need to stop. I won’t be able to control myself any longer if you keep teasing.” Pushing my luck a little more I lean in and kiss him again, then jump up before he can capture me. I laugh as I grab my bag and keys. Taking one off I hold it out to him. “Here’s a key for my place, the code is 3489. Just give me a shout before you head over.” I’m not one to jump head first into something, but this feels right. I wait for him to take it. I can see the indecision cross his face. “Jane, I have to ask you something.” Standing up beside me, he pulls me against him. “I think we need to establish our relationship first before I accept your offer. I want to be with you, and only you. But I need to know if you want to be with me. Only me.” He looks deep into my eyes and I have a feeling that what he is saying is extremely important, but I don’t know why. We only just started dating, and while I do want to be exclusive, I feel that there is a deeper meaning to his words. The truth needs to be told and this time I let it out willingly. “I only want to be with you.” Smiling down at me, me lightly traces his fingers on my arm. I hear him murmur something. A spurt of energy runs down my arm and dissipates through my fingers, almost like an electric shock. Giving me a quick kiss and a light ‘boop’ on the nose, he takes the key from my hand. “Thank you Jane. I have been waiting for someone like you for a long time now.” Stepping back, I look at my tingling arm. I think I see something faint where Kadis was tickling me, but I can’t be sure. I shake my arm to get rid of the feeling and when I look again I don’t see anything. That was weird. I glance up at Kadis and see him staring at me wide-eyed. His face is pale and he almost looks scared. His eyes skip back and forth between my arm and my face. “What?” I look at my arm again and see nothing. Clearing his throat, he lets me go. “Nothing my dear, I just remembered that I have an extremely important meeting today.” Grabbing his jacket, he buttons it up. He looks overdressed and sexy as hell, but I suppose he would considering he doesn’t have a change of clothes here. “Um, okay. Well how about we get together again this evening. Give me a call when you are done with your meeting. I should be done mine by five or so.” As we exit the building, I look over at him for confirmation. He seems to be deep in thought. “Kadis?” “Oh! Yes, I’ll call you this evening. Maybe a little take-out tonight? I know a great chinese restaurant that delivers.” “Sounds good Kadis. See you later.” He gives my hand one last squeeze and I stare after him as he walks down the street. What in the world just happened?!  Glancing at my arm again, I take one last look at Kadis’ back and then brace myself to face the day.
