Chapter 3

Alison People say that when you have near death experience, you have family that have died show up and inform you that it wasn’t your time. Well, that is just one huge lie. All you see is pitch black. Not a single soul. As I tried to open my eyes, I was blinded by the lights above me. I could hear machines beeping and chatter happening. Where was I? I looked down, I was in a gown, with an IV in my arm. Sighing realising that I was in the hospital.  The door opened and the Infamous Blake Jackson, walked in. What is he doing here? How does he even know that I am here? All these queries that ran through my mind. But I could not voice. He began to walk toward me. I don’t know what to do. He sat in the corner of the bed near my legs. My leg was in a cast. How did I miss that? ‘Of course you missed it. Look at the hunk before you.’ A voice in my head replied. My cheeks redden at the thought. “Hi. I’m Blake Jackson. I found you on the floor of the forest,” he said as he extended his arm. Oh, he wanted to shake hands. I stared at it. “Hi. Alison Thompson. That is my name. And thanks,” I mumbled, not shaking his hand. I didn’t want to be rude but I don’t know what his intentions are. I didn’t want to tell him that I already knew who he was, that would have been so weird. “The doctor said that you need to take it easy, and that physio might be needed for you to be able to have a range of movement in your leg,” He explain. Get that is exactly what I need. “So, I suggest you stay with us until you can get back home.” Panic arose in me. I cannot stay here. He will murder me. “I Can’t, I have to do,” I said as I tried to get up. “You can’t. You need to stay here to so we can keep an eye on you.” “I can’t. I can’t.” “Yes you can. Just call your parent as let them know that you are staying with a couple of friends for a while.” “NO, YOU DON’T UNDERSTAND!” I shouted. Both of our eyes widen at the outburst. He got up and walked toward me, I was shaking. I didn’t know what to do. “What is going on here?” I heard a voice say. We turned to see Ashley, Blake’s sister, and her boyfriend Jace standing at the entrance of the room. “Nothing,” with that said Blake left the room. Ashley and Jace walked to my bed, she sat down where Blake once sat and he stood next to her. “I’m just glad that you are okay. If Blake wasn’t there the dogs would have done more damage,” Ashley stated. Jace nodded. “Blake? Dogs? They were not dogs,” I claimed. I didn’t know that he saved me, and I was so rude to him. “Yes, they were. I guess you hit your head pretty hard that everything was a blur,” Jace commented. Those were not dogs, I know what dogs look like. They were not it. “Oh, okay.” I agreed with them, not wanting to anger them. I began to fidget with my fingers. I really needed to get out of here. “When can I leave?” “Well, we need to keep you here for at least 4 to 6 weeks,” Ashely said. I cannot stay here. “I can’t. My parents won’t allow it,” I lied. “Oh, well. I guess you can go home after 3 days. Just let them know that you have a school camp or something,” she suggested. I nodded and grabbed my phone. I pretended to type but I was just searching the distance from here to my house. It was an 8 minute walk. I can do it. I just need her to leave. I gently smiled at her. “They said okay,” I lied, again. She smiled. “How about I show you my place, go somewhere comfortable and just talk. I really want to be your friend,” Ashley stated. I nodded. She got up and left. Looking around I realised that Jace isn’t here. Ashley wasn’t either. I could leave. As I started to get up, Ashley appeared with a wheelchair. “The doctor said to you this for now,” she claimed. I forced a smile and replied. “Okay, that’s fine.” The nurse came in to take the IV out. I changed into clothing brought by Ashley and I sat on the chair. She wheeled me into a hallway. The hallway was dark and narrow with a small door at the end of it. Once we reached the door, she opened it to leave a massive living room. The walls were white with dark wood flooring, kitchen can be seen from the living. It was massive. Random people walked in and out. I didn’t question, afraid for what might happen. She wheeled me till we reached an elevator. Of course, they were rich. Going inside the elevator 4 levels was seen on the board. Glancing down, a red button stood out to me. I wonder what it is. Ding the elevator went as we stopped at our level. Rolling out, we reached her room. Her room was the size of my house. Her bed paced in the middle with pink and white sheets covering it. She had white shiny side tables and a built in closet. She has a small pink rug and a small pink couch placed in the corner in front of the built in TV. I started to become envious. They had all these and I was living in a dumpster. My blood started to boil. I exhaled as Ashley sat on the couch and we began to chat. She wasn’t what I expected, she was humble and kind. She offered my food that I could not even pronounce, and gave me clothing for the days I will be here. I felt so out of place. Blake After the commotion with Alison, I left the hospital and walked with fury to the dungeon. I hope I can let some steam off by dealing with the rogue. I hopped on the elevator and pressed the red button, the button is mostly used by me, and it takes me straight to the dungeon, located beyond the basement. Our basement is sometimes used by Omegas or Rogues that we feel worthy of joining the pack. It is where they are placed until the tests have been completed. The test includes: a run with the pack, a physical and psychological tests and a lie detector. This is then rewarded by a ceremony that allows them in. Failing any tests can lead to death by me. Walking out of the elevator, I took a left. I continued to walk down the hallways until I reached a gate with guards outside the door. It was just a precaution, you never know what these rogues can do. Nodding the let me in, stating the new rogue was placed in cell 12. I walked all the way to cell 12. I peaked inside, she was curled into a ball and was in the corner. I opened the cell realising that she can do no harm. As I walked in the bruises and cuts on her body were visible, she was shaking. She looked up, she had a black eyes and a cut on her lips. My blood boiled knowing that someone could do this to a girl. She reminded me on my mate, innocent, but broken. I crouched down to her level, crossing my feet and sat on the ground. She sensed that I mean no harm, and she uncurled herself. Looking at her, she had dull brown eyes that has no shine to it. Lifeless. I cannot tell from the darkness here but it looked like she had blue hair. Bright blue hair. “Why were you passing by?” I asked curious as to what she will say. She stayed silent. Only breathing was heard. “I mean no harm. I can help you if you let me,” I replied. She scoffed. At least that is something. “All you Alphas mean no harm, but you do more damage than help,” she replied, rolling her eyes. “Is that who did this to you? Your Alpha?” “My Alpha is a piece of s**t that lets his anger out on his pack. Girls specifically, because he can’t pick on someone his own size.” “What made him this way?” “He lost his wife, after adopting a human. I heard he treats her the way he treats us,” She said. Nodding. I forgot to ask a simple question. “What is your name?” “Grace, and yours?” “Blake. Blake Jackson.” I stated with pride. Her eyes widen. I guess she heard of me. “So, when is my death due?” She asks. I have realised that she is no longer afraid of me. “Never,” I replied. Confusion was plastered on her face. “I want you to join my pack.” “Why is that?” “Cause I need a warrior, someone like you, who isn’t afraid of death and can could put the lives of others before themselves.” She hesitated. “Fine. I will join” “Great, I will tell the guards to move you to the basement. You will stay there until all tests are completes after the ceremony, you will train with myself and my Beta. We shall see if you succeed the test.” With that Said I got up and left the cell. Walking to the door I told them to move Grace into the basement. They complied. I walked to the elevator and when to my level. I share this level with my parents and sister. Walking to my room, I could hear my mate and Ashley talking. I smiled. I will get her to accept me, even if I have to die for it.
