Chapter 3: New guy

Lorelei Larissa's P.O.V.

It was five in the morning when I woke up. I don’t want to get late on my first day at school. I am really excited about starting in a new environment.

I stood up and washed my face first before going down. I saw our mayordoma there busy cooking for me. She knows that I love the taste of her food she cooks.

She serves me. I finished my breakfast for about ten minutes, then after that I rested a little and headed back again to my room.

Shocks. It is so cold. Thankfully, we have a heater.

After that, I wear my clothes and fixed my looks.

I looked at my wristwatch and saw that it was already six o’clock.

My class will start at eight, but I want to go there early so that I can still roam around and to familiarize with the vicinity.

Our driver sent me to the university.

And when I get there, people are already roaming around.

I walked towards the park because that’s the first thing I saw there.

I just sat there for about five minutes, then decided to walk again.

I was busy looking at my surroundings when suddenly someone bumped me.

“Sorry,” he said in his deep voice. He lends me his hand so that I can get up.

I looked at him.

Yeah. Because of the impact and to his body, I was there on the floor.

I accepted his hand and stood up. “It’s okay,” I said.

I am not really that hurt except for my hand, where there is a small scar now.

He looks at it and worries painted on his face. “Let’s go to the clinic,” he said.

I quickly shook my head. “It is not needed. This is just small,” I said and got my hands off to him.

He thought for a while, but he gave up. “Fine,” he said and fished for something in his bag. Band aid.

He held my hand again and caressed my wound to remove dirt, then placed the band aid there.

"Thank you,” I said and smiled at him.

After that, he looked at her wristwatch. “Damn,” he cursed. He looked back at me. “I need to go now. I’m late. See you around,” he quickly said, like rapping, then waved at me before running.

I just wait for him to vanish from my sight.

I wonder what his name is. He has this strong aura. He looks so fierce. Like a bad boy, but with kindness? Based on what he did.

Because I know if someone bumped me, some people will just continue to walk without even looking at me.

And him? He even placed a band aid on my scar.

I smiled and just walked towards my room. My first class is approaching.

When I got in, I saw a girl sitting near the window. She waved and smiled at me.

“Hi. I’m Yuri. You can sit next to me,” she said, and tapped the chair next to her. "

I sat there. “I’m Lorelei,” I introduced myself.

It takes minutes before the room is filled with students.

Yuri and I talked while waiting for the class to start. I can say that she is talkative.

Then our first subject started. And that’s because this is our first day, introduction comes along.

After that first subject, Yuri waved at me to enter her second subject.

We don’t have a schedule because I’m a transfer and I have already taken some of the subjects in Germany.

It’s my vacant now, so I decided to go to the cafeteria. My tummy is growling.

I entered there and ordered carbonara and orange juice.

After getting my order, I scanned the place to look for a vacant table.

As I was doing that, someone called me.

“Lorelei!” Sophie shouted to get my attention. She is with her brother. “Come here,” she said.

I nodded my head and walked towards them. I sat next to Sophie and Joziah is in my front now.

“So, how’s your day going?” my best friend asked.

I smiled at her. “Happy. I met a pretty girl named Yuri,” I said.

"Oww, really? I think I know her too. She is Klyde's cousin, one of my classmates."

I started to eat. I was about to roll pasta again when Sophie held my hand.

“What happens to that?” she asked with worry in her tone.

“It’s just a small scar,” I answered and got my hand back.

“Tch,” I heard Jziah muttered.

That made me look at him. He is staring at my hand with his forehead knotted.

"What happened to that?" he asked in a serious tone.

I didn’t have a choice anymore but to tell them. “I accidentally bumped into a guy earlier. But he helped me to get up and even put the band aid in my hand,” I explained.

A smile formed at Sophie’s lips. "Oww, a guy, huh?"

“Stop it,” I said and pouted at her.

She laughed. “Is he handsome?”

“Yeah.” Oops. I spilled it. It was supposed to be on my head only.

“Maybe you are destined with him. Just like on some drama series when you bumped in a guy.”

“Damn it,” Joziah cursed and stood up. After that, he walked away.

Sophie and I looked at each other.

She smiled widely at me. “My brother is so obvious,” she said and shook her head.

“Obvious for what?” I curiously asked.

She tapped my shoulder. “Sometimes you are really slow, my friend.”

I sighed at her. “Whatever, Soph.” Then I continued eating.

Time passed by and my class continued.

Well, for most of the subject, what we do is only introduce ourselves.

I didn’t see the guy earlier again.

And in my two subjects, Yuri is my classmate. That is why I am so happy.

Tomorrow came and I just got ready myself at eight because my class is ten.

After making myself presentable, the mayordoma is on the door.

“Hija, the driver can’t send you it today. The car has a problem,” she informed me.

I look at my wristwatch and it was already nine.

“It’s okay, I can ride a taxi,” I said politely. I still have time.

“Okay. Take care,” she said and caressed my hair.

I smiled at her. “Bye.” Then I waved.

I still need to walk to get out of this village, so I can ride a taxi. I can’t wait for grab anymore.

I started to walk. As I was in the middle of the road, someone horned at my back. I faced that. It was Joziah!

He rolled the window down. “Ride,” he said.

I didn’t hesitate anymore and ride in his car.

"Why are you walking?" he asked.

“Our car has a problem. It needs to be fixed,” I answered.

He looked at me and stared at my neck. “Damn ponytail,” he whispered.

I held my hair. “Do you have a problem with my hair?” I asked and raised my eyebrow.

"Never mind," he said and continued to drive.

When we reached the parking lot of the school, we got out of the car.

“Thank you,” I said and started to walk.

"Larissa," he calls.

“What?” I asked.

I was about to face him when he suddenly pulled the ponytail out of my hair.

"Don't use a ponytail again," he warned, and walked away.

I was left there looking dumb while staring at his back.

What is his problem with my ponytail?

I just shook my head and started to walk. I might get late if I just stay there in the parking lot.

I entered my first subject.

The instructor started to discuss the lesson. Well, it is our second day today. So no doubt.

The subject came to an end and lunch time came.

My tummy is growling since earlier. I am really hungry now.

I fixed my things and walked toward the cafeteria alone.

Sophie is not my classmate, so we don’t have the same schedule. While Yuri is still not here. We will meet later for another subject tho.

I ordered already and sat. The cafeteria is packed now.

I am eating when someone talks.

"Can I share with you?" he asked. The one who I bumped up with yesterday.

I scanned the place and saw that there were no vacant anymore. “Of course,” I answered to him.

He sat in front of me. It was a two seater. “We met again,” he said and smirked.

Woah. He really looks like a bad boy now, but in an attractive way.

"Ah yeah."

"Awkward eh," he said and chuckled. "By the way, I am Travis Yuan," he introduced.

So, it is his name. Nice.

"Lorelei," I said.

I was surprised when he held my hand. “Nice to meet you,” he said and kissed it.

My eyes widened because of that. Especially when I felt a spark in my hand.

He smirked again at my reaction. He likes it.
