CHAPTER THREE
I entered the building with the help of the Security man who helped me with the door. I exclaimed with bewilderment as soon as I entered, seeing people walking from one place to another. Just then, I pumped into someone. "Please watch where you are going" he said to me, turning to the other direction to take the lift. "I will" I murmured while looking at the place which caught my attention, probably because it was my first time of seeing one.
Then I went straight to the Reception where I asked about the CEO. 'Good morning madam" I said, smilingly.
"Good morning, ma. How may I help you, please?" she queried.
"Nothing much actually... I'm here to see the CEO of this company" I answered.
"Oh! Okay ma... But do you have an appointment with him today?" she asked, while checking the appointment list to search for my name to see if he had an appointment with me.
"No, I don't" I said.
"Oh! In that case, ma... I am afraid you can't see him because we follow the rules here ma" she explained to me.
"Alright... I'll wait a little, perhaps I can run into him if he comes out" I told her, and she led me to the waiting room which is at the Reception.
"Gosh! I can't afford to waste my energy in coming here without meeting with the CEO" I smirked.
"Okay madam... You can wait over here" she turned to face me.
"Thank you..." Just then I remembered if I was far from the direction he will come from, I might lose seeing him so I called the Receptionist back to ask her "Sorry please... If I may ask, which door or step do you think he will probably come out from?".
I noticed the sudden expression on her face so I said further "Nothing actually... I just want to be sure of my sitting position so as not to lose him that's why".
"Okay. If that's it then, you can come to sit down here" she beckoned to me while pointing to the direction.
"Alright... Thanks so much, ma. I appreciate your kind gesture towards me" I smiled at her to show my gratitude, then she went her way.
I sat in the Waiting Room for hours, looking at the direction the CEO would come out from. I looked around swiftly to see the Bodyguards, guarding the door so tightly. Then I remembered the word of advice from Laura where she told me I should not let loose of my guard. I whispered to myself quietly "You need to do something now, Helen or you will lose this opportunity forever".
I stood up from my seat and looked around, pretending to do something on my phone while walking towards the direction. When I saw it remained only a Security man, guarding the door. I walked up to him as fast as I can.
"Wait there, Woman" he said, pointing gun at me.
"Don't answer, Helen" I pretended to make a halt and when I saw he was coming towards me, I was shivering but I instilled courage in myself as I ran through the corridor and went inside the office, locking the door behind me.
It took me more than a minute before I could gather my thoughts as soon as I entered the room. "What came over me...What have you done, Helen?" I sobbed because it dawned on me there that I have created a difficult situation for myself in a Popular Radio station with over 100 security men in it. "How will I survive this?" Just then, my mind clicked on why I did that. It was because of the CEO. I murmured that I needed to persuade the CEO in offering his assistance to me. I still remembered what Laura told me about the personality of the CEO that he is an awful man.
"Oh Gosh! What have I brought to myself?" I sobbed.
All these while I was being dramatic, I never knew the CEO was looking at every of my move. Just then, I was broadcasted on the TV. I rushed to where the TV was and read the Headline but it was hot for me. I wondered the condition I put myself in and I turned it off immediately.
"Wow! Amazing!" the CEO said, clapping his hands.
"Amazing?" I asked as I turned around to face the CEO of the company. Behold! it was a young handsome man that I was carried away for some minutes, making me sweat profusely while under the AC.
"Yes...Amazing! And who is this August Visitor in my office?" the CEO laughed hysterically.
"...um...um... Actually you know what, the thing is..." I scratched my head countless times, not able to find the right words as all I could think was his face that kept on coming into my mind so I turned my back on him immediately.
"I should be the one playing dumb here, ma'am" he chuckled while pretending to be terrified.
"I didn't know what came over me like seriously..." I said with tears while facing him, after I have cleared his face off my head.
"For real!" he exclaimed, making jest of me. "So young lady, are you saying you didn't know what come over you to have entered this place which is under tight surveillance?"
"Yes sir" I shivered.
"Oh! Come off it... I must really commend you for that your act of bravery" he grimaced.
"Actually, the thing is I really needed your help and I don't know if you can help me that's why, sir" I managed to say.
"My help? Have I ever been on the news as a Philanthropist!" he queried.
"No...I'm sorry, sir" I said, as tears began to stroll down freely from my eyes.
"You don't have anything to be sorry about" he said further.
"Okay... You can just put me in any post in your company" I pleaded.
"And do they say this place is easy for anyone to enter?" he shouted and continued "Even if I were to accept you in, do I know your competency?".
"I have once worked as an internship in a Radio station and I know how it runs, sir".
"I believe you know this is not just any radio station... you know that, right?" he laughed, then continued further "But I might do well to accept you as a Bodyguard... because it seems you will be good at that with what you performed earlier" he laughed hysterically.
Just then, he sprayed something which seemed like a perfume inside the office while covering his nose but it wasn't a Perfume as I felt dizzy all of a sudden. I couldn't open my eyes for so long any longer as dizziness has already took all over me. I fell on the ground but all these while, he was laughing at me crazily. I hold my hand in the air as he came towards me with the guards surrounding me. "So what now, young lady?" he said, beaming me at me. I held him tightly, not wanting to let go of him but I became unconscious, closing my eyes into darkness.
