If there is something that Sofia would never try to give up, it was her new family. Lily and her new friend Gab. After their girls bonding, they went back to work as their usual life without holidays. Goddard company is her second home. Her third week on the company was the busy week. Everyone inside was busy doing their hard work because of the new product that the company about to launch. One thing that inspired Sofia. The hard work that everyone shows inside is inspiring. All along she believed they muted but while she was staying inside the company she slowly learning and finding new things about them. They loved their job and the company as well. And that inspired her to do her job well. After three weeks, she met new friends like Sabrina and Calixta, but not as deep friendship they gave but only as a good co-worker. She’d got task today. Completely busy to join Gab for a lunch. She was busy on her computer when Demire went out of his office holding a bunch of paper to add on her task today. Demire put them on her table not waiting her to look up to him. “I need these at four in the afternoon. Also, please cancel all my appointments tomorrow,” he sounds pleaded and talking so fast. Sofia faced him with tons of tangled knots on her forehead. “At four? But I am converting emails and filling all the—” “I don’t care, I need them ASAP.” He turned his back at her after and went back to his room. “Seriously?” She took a very deep sigh and messed her hair because of disturbance. She really cannot predict what will be his mood. The morning she sat on her cubicle, Demire greeted her ‘good morning’ and now he’d just left after tossed her the bunches of documents to input on her desktop. She was very busy today and has no idea how to work with the two task he’d gave her early morning but he’d just tossed her another task to finish at four o’clock. She has no power to do everything and finish them on the time given to her. “He’s crazy!” she murmured and looked around to make sure nobody hears her. There was no tactic to use in order to finish them on time, so she decided to finish the last task he gave her and finally finished it before four. Demire smiled when Sofia handed over his table the papers he gave her. “I’m done, Mr. Goddard, do you need anything else? If there is nothing, then I’ll go back to my cubicle and continue to have my overtime.” She was waiting for his answer. He paused for a moment, thinking what he will give her task next but he wagged his head. “Nothing.” He signed her to finally leave his room. As how busy his employees were, it was double he does. It making him stress and exhaust today. He’d been sitting on his swivel chair the whole eight hours and have not taken his lunch. He stared at Sofia’s back walking out of his room. “Sofia,” he called when thoughts came to his mind. Sofia turned to face him back. “Yes, Mr. Goddard?” She remained standing with her two inches pointed shoes, staring at him. He’d leaned his back on the backrest, wondering if he has to tell her what came up to his mind or would it be good if they will go back to their work and finish it today. Especially that he knew himself, he’d always falling unbothered when he was with her. He can feel things are too easy for him to battled with. It always been too easy for him to coop up his unwanted emotions and leave the smile on his lips. “You didn’t go out for lunch?” He cared about her roaring tummy now. He can hear it loud and clear enough, roaring for foods. He’s not like human who consumed energy from their foods, and easily gets pale when they skipped two meals for a day. “Uhm, yes, too busy to go out.” She sighed and searched for some pity on his eyes but she failed, his eyes were blank steadily. This was him at all times, the man you can read. He’s always someone she knew and didn’t know at the same time. “Would you like me to bring you something to eat for you?” Apparently, she’d cared about him. They both didn’t go out for lunch. He immediately nodded. “Yes, please… with a hot coffee.” “Okay, Mr. Goddard.” She’s about to leave his office for the second time. “Bring some food and drinks, good for two.” She didn’t know who will he join food together, she just nodded and left. While preparing something to bring on his office, there are things that bothering her. She was sure about the company current situation now. They will be busier than they were now. As the time passed by, she learned many things inside the organization, and about how everyone working for success and for progress. She never been in this kind of situation before, where she has to work to earn money, where she has to patiently communicate with her co-workers, and many things that was completely new to her. Having a boss who was not her parents and lived life with small apartment with Lily. Everything about her life since her parents died on an accident was different from her old life. Where she can have the atmosphere and can live her life with her own rules and wealth. “Ms. Pollyana, you’re floating, your cup is full.” She woke up on her deep thoughts when the voice from her back made her realized she’s pouring hot water on the full cup. They have coffee maker on the counter but she prepared to make coffee with her bare hands. She sighed and wiped the coffee stained the white counter.
