CHAPTER 19
ADIRA'S POV
I walked down stairs to a new room to stay in. I wasn't in the right mood to be accompanying Elijah just yet, not after the trick he pulled on me. Locking me away like an animal. Pfft, yeah right.
"Queen Adira, King Elijah has sent me to get you ready for the hunt, it shall be noon soon." The maid explained as she walked in and placed some clothing on the table.
"Why do I need clothes if I'm just going to turn anyway?" I asked with a bored tone, as I sat on the chair that showed you the outdoor garden view from the window.
"These garments are not for the hunt, my Queen. They're for the execution tonight."
My eyes went wide as I felt shocked. Was he really dressing me up for someone's death?
Oh, please Moon Goddess. Please tell me you didn't match me with a sadistic, trust issue, arrogant Alpha!
"I see." I replied lowly as I got up, going to exit the room.
"My Queen." The maid said with an urgent tone to her words as she grabbed my wrist. "I must warn you of something." She whispered, as if afraid others may catch her words.
"What is it about, why don't you just in form your Alpha?" I replied as I snatched back my wrist. I never did like it when people thought they can just handle me around and think I will let them willingly. But weirdly when I said 'your Alpha' the maid scrunched up her nose in disgust.
"A King could only do some much force with in reasons of tradition, but you-"
"Oh, I get it. Because I'm the rouge you think I can break some rules for you." I laughed dangerously.
I was not in the mood, nor did I have the patience.
"Please, you must understand." She pleaded while trying to block the exit.
I walked up dangerously towards her as I glared her down.
"Oh, I must now? And why should I? Because the little pup said so?" I knew she didn't do anything wrong, but I didn't care. My rouge traits were kicking in after being locked up like a prisoner by my own mate!
"It's about the attacks. They're not from rouges, not your rouges. I know because I've seen them." I then looked at her with interest as I nodded for her to continue.
"They're from the other packs. There's been word spread that there's a white wolf born again to the supernatural life. It has caught the attention of others."
"So, get to the point before someone walks in." I snapped impatiently.
"They're using the rouges as a decoy, to make the King believe they're the ones who are killing their way to find the white furred wolf."
I then walked back as I kept my gaze on her. Who was she exactly, and how did she know some much?
"Who are you, really?" I asked as I glared at her, making her smirk slyly as she looked both ways before pulling up her sleeve.
"I am your rouge, my Queen." I couldn't help but feel my eyes go wide as I smiled happily to know I had one of my members with me. My family.
On her upper arm was a tattoo of the 3 wolves. 1st one was a wolf of higher ranking, 2nd was the followers of him, then the 3rd was me and my pack. The rouges who fought justice and wished to be freed of being seen as the disgusted ones.
I ran up to her and hugged her tightly as she obliged and embraced me back.
"So, that's why you kept calling me Queen." I chuckled, but she only smiled and nodded.
"I'm here to return you before the other packs come for you." She explained, but something inside me told me it wasn't right to leave. I couldn't.
"I can't." I whispered in shame, she only put her hand on my shoulder as she smiled.
"You have freed us, helped us. You made us a family. You made history, my Queen. Let us return the favour and free you back to the rightful place you belong." I smiled weakly as I nodded.
"Thank you." I smiled, she only nodded in understanding.
"When the execution starts that is when we shall escape, my Queen." She then left the room as I turned and looked at the garments she brought me.
I looked at them closely and realised these weren't the clothes Elijah ordered me to wear, but the clothes were what my rouges prepared for me, to sneak out without getting noticed.
I'm sorry Elijah, but my people need me.
