ChapterTwenty Two The following morning, I awoke with a dull memory of last night and a splitting headache. Taking two aspirins, and after a light breakfast, I had a vague, but clearer memory of what had happened. I recalled my awful experience with Frank and most of what Tony said,but the most chilling recollection was Tony’s declaration that he would call me today before leaving to return home.To me, this meant the end of our relationship, andtelling me, face to face,wouldbe just too painful for him.
