Tony’s day of discharge came in early September, a few days before I was to begin the first semester of my sophomore year. Although I arranged to room again with Diane, Tony and I agreed that before leaving, he would stay the weekend at a motel, and I would stay with him until he left late Sunday afternoon.I packed my things in my suitcase and met Tony outside the dorm as he put my suitcase in the back seat.
