Blurb

Millie had always dreamed of an epic love story for herself. She was never into any of the boys in her school, but college was a new beginning. What she didn't expect was the sudden blossoming of not one, or even two love interests, but three. Camden, Dillan, and Jordan. Three men with very different personalities all falling in love with the same girl.

New Beginnings
It was quiet except for the soft sound of my roommate's breathing. Kate was a kind girl with short dark hair and warm brown eyes. The first few weeks living with her were pretty good. We had become fairly close, telling each other about our families back home and some other personal details. I think the reason we get along so well is because how opposite we are. She was outgoing and bold, were I am more reserved and relaxed. Kate loved to party and get wild. Sometimes I joined her, but most nights I liked to stay in and read my romance novels. Since I could remember I dreamed of an epic love story. A man would come into my life and it would be love at first sight. There would be such a strong connection that there would practically be a neon sign above his head saying "He's the one." I sighed as my daydream fizzled away and my dorm room came back into view. I threw on my clothes, grabbed my bag and headed out the door quietly. Kate and I didn't have class until 11, but I had a shift at the coffee shop this morning. Walking behind the counter, I clock in and go check in with the boss. Jerry was a nice guy who always helped me when I needed it. Work or social life, he had an answer for everything. "Hey, Jer. What's the special for today?" I asked him, throwing my bag in the corner as I walked into the office. Looking up I noticed there was another person sitting in front of the desk across from Jerry. "Who's this?" "Millie I'd like you to meet our new employee, Jordan. You will be helping train him this week." Jerry said. Jordan turned in his chair to look at me as Jerry spoke. His brown hair stopped just above his hazel eyes, and his lips were pulled up into a soft smile. I have to admit, he's quite handsome. "Hello, it's nice to meet you Jordan." I say in my polite work voice while leaning closer to shake his hand. Instead of shaking it, he takes my hand with both of his and gently kisses the back of it. I yank my hand away while trying to hide my blushing cheeks. "Millie, right?" He questions with a smirk on his face. "Correct. Just so we are perfectly clear, handshakes are the proper way to greet other employees. I will not slow down my work for your benefit. Keep up or keep out of the way." I leave the office with him trotting along behind me. After a quick run through of where everything was and what was expected of him, I asked "Do you understand everything? Are you ready for work to begin?" He nods once, the stupid smirk still present on his face. I flip the sign to say "OPEN" and soon enough customers start flowing in. I hardly notice Jordan, as I'm focused on my work, but when I turn to check on him he's.. showing off by flipping things around while making coffees and surrounded by a crowd of girls!? Did he just wink at me!? I was about to rip into him until I realized he was drawing in more customers and not making a single mistake. Show off. I shake my head and go back to my work. As the morning crowd dies down and our shift ends, I gather my stuff from the office and sit down at a table to begin reading my novel. The chair across from me pulls out and Jordan sits in front of me with a coffee in each hand. He places one in front of me and I say "You don't even know my order." I didn't mean to sound so mean. Oops. "Hot mocha, extra shot, whip cream on top." He says with a confident smile on his lips. How did he..? Jerry. "We can be coworkers and friends you know? You seem like the kind of person I'd like to be friends with." I stare at him, pondering for a second before answering him. "Thank you for the coffee." I turn my eyes back into my book and continue reading. This part was my favorite. It's the chapter where she meets the love of her life for the first time. Their eyes lock and she knew instantly there was a connection. I so desperately wanted that moment for myself. Anytime I met a guy I waited for that moment to hit me. Pure adoration washing over me, and instantly knowing it would blossom into something more. I could tell from his attitude he was wanting more than just a friendship. If I didn't feel the spark, I didn't feel like wasting my time. "The ending to that isn't worth the read you know." I look up over my book and see him leaning on the table towards me. "How so?" I question. They fall in love and conquer every obstacle together, what's a better ending then that? "It's too predictable. Love at first sight, falling more in love every day, then living happily ever after? There are no surprises, nothing to catch you off guard. It's downright boring if you ask me." He smirked like his opinion was obviously right. What a jerk. "That's one way to look at it, if you have no sense of passion. It's an epic love story about two soul mates finding each other and falling in love. Some of us actually want that. I for one would love to live a life like this." I slam my book shut and shove it into my bag. "I'm going to be late for class. Thanks again for the coffee." I didn't bother to look at him again as I stood and walked out of the coffee shop. All I heard as the door shut behind me was the deep chuckle of his laughter. What a d**k.
