Alex opened her eyes slowly to find Piers kneeling on the floor. He still looked the same as before when she closed her eyes.
"Piers, you did it!", she exclaimed relieved. She ran towards the cage in excitement, holding on to the steel bars and reaching for his face.
Piers' head was bowed and looking at the floor, as he knelt down. Her left hand was touching his face now while her right hand was holding on to the steel bar.
"You made it, Piers! I was super worried about you for a moment!", she cried out, relieved. She was touching his face in hopes he would look up at her.
"Piers, are you awake?! Look at me, say something!", she said, tapping his cheek severally and suddenly he looked up.
