Alex felt really good knowing Piers was okay as they held onto each other. She didn't feel like letting his hands go because she knew that was the closest she could be with him tonight.
"It's time, I think we should both let go of each other", Piers said. She could tell he was no longer holding her tightly, she was the one still holding on to him.
"No! I don't feel like letting you go", she insisted, holding on to him more tightly.
"It's for your own safety. Aren't you bothered if the Demon wolf suddenly returns?", he asked her.
"You will protect me, won't you?", she asked, looking up at him. She knew he cared about her and would surely not let the Demon wolf harm her.
