“Elara?! Elara?!”
I felt two arms wrap around me, pulling out of the trance I was frozen in. It was Nora.
“We have to go. Now. It's not safe here,” she whispered, helping me up.
I couldn't say anything. I got up with her help and we hurried back to the house.
What in the Twilight was going on here?!
Randy turned into a wolf, or a large dog, or whatever that was. I felt nauseous again. Did Nora know? She didn't seem to be freaking out. At least not as much as I was.
I watched her close the front door as I paced around the living room, seconds from losing my sanity.
“Randy turned into a f*****g animal out there!” I yelled at her. “What the f**k is going on?!”
Nora fiddled with her blouse. “He's going to explain everything when he comes back. I'm so sorry you had to see that honey.”
I scoffed incredulously. So she knew. I wiped the tears that wouldn't stop coming out.
Get it together Elara.
The front door cracked opened, and I spun around; alert. Dad walked in, in a pair of shorts and nothing else. I immediately took a huge step back, my eyes widened.
“You stay right where you are!” I ordered him. “The only reason I didn't leave was because Nora begged me not to. Now you better explain yourself. Why did you turn into a freaking supersized dog?!”
Dad exhaled, not able to quite meet my eyes. His hands were shaky.
“I don't know how to explain this but um…” he stepped closer.
“I said stay back!” I screamed at him.
Dad shrunk, his eyes full of pain. “Honey…I would never hurt you.”
“It wouldn't be the first time.” My voice was bitter. I sniffled. “Why are you…what are you?”
He took a deep breath, looking between me and Nora before finally settling his eyes back on me.
“I'm…I'm a werewolf. We both are,” he looked at Nora.
The pit of my stomach froze. My entire body shook violently. Then the nausea hit again. Geez, I was still covered in my own vomit from earlier. When I spoke, my voice was barely audible.
“I'm going home,” I began to rush upstairs.
There was no f*****g way I was going to stay in a house with people who turned into wolves! Massive ones!
I paused. My dad wouldn't…he wouldn't eat me would he? What about Nora? She was a wolf too? I sat down on the bed. What if they killed me? I mean, I could tell anyone about this? And even if they don't kill me, what about the other wolves from earlier ? A cold dread began to creep up my spine.
Suddenly my throat was constricted, like I was trying to swallow a golf ball. Panic clawed its way up, choking me. The room started to spin. I gripped the edge of my dressing table, taking shallow breaths. I couldn't get enough air.
I'm going to die.
The thought slammed into me with the force of a physical blow. My chest tightened, and a sharp pain shot down my left arm. I squeezed my eyes shut, trying to block out the overwhelming sensation of terror.
No no no! I can't die here! They're going to eat me!
The last thing I remember was the feeling of the floor rushing up to meet me. Then, nothing. Just a dark, silent void.

My eyes flung open, darting around the room to find Nora hastily packing my clothes into my suitcase.
“What are you doing?” I asked her, confused. “What's going on?”
She stopped to look at me, her eyes wide with what looked like fear.
“I don't know how to explain this to you, but your life is in danger.”
She began sobbing. “I'm so sorry Elara. I'm so—so—sorry.”
I jumped up from the bed as Dad burst into the room.
“Elara,” he panted. “We need to leave. Now.”
His voice was urgent. I was so confused and lost. What was going on? Who was coming for me? The wolf man?
He grabbed my arm and practically dragged me downstairs. I almost fell over on the stairs but he caught me.
“Dad wait! What's going on?!” I demanded.
“If I had time to explain I would! I just need to get you out of here for now. You are not safe.”
“From who?!” I cried as we hurried outside.
Dad swung the door open, and my blood ran cold. Seven wolves surrounded us, teeth sharper than knives, and ready to kill.
“We're too late…” Dad croaked, his grip on my arm tightening.
Xavier’s POV:
I watched Charlotte slip back into her blue satin dress, her t**s bouncing as she slid it past her hips.
“You know, we're having a bit of a problem at the hospital,” she began. “I tried to talk to Mr Roffe about it but he won't hear it. As Luna I can't discriminate against any of my people, but by not having suitable medication for the half-breeds I'm doing just that.”
I looked up to her. “What do you need, Luna?”
She smiled at me. “Please talk to Mr Roffe about making more variations for the half-breeds.”
“Done.”
“Thank you. I love you. I need to go now. Apparently there's an issue concerning Jaime down at the cells.”
I frowned at her. “What kind of issue?”
She sighed, throwing on her white coat. “Apparently there's this couple on the other side of the mountain. They're lone-wolves. It seems they've had a visitor over for the last couple of weeks.”
She walked onto the other side of the room, tying her hair up. “A human girl. I don't know the exact details but she saw Jaime transform into his human form. I don't think she knew the couple were wolves either.”
I got out of bed, grabbing my briefs off Charlotte's dressing table.
“Poor girl,” Charlotte pouted. “And my head is pounding. I don't have the energy to deal with this right now. I don't even know what to do with her.”
“I'm going to deal with the rouges down there,” I told her as I put my jeans on. “I'll sort it out. Head to the hospital.”
She smiled and reached up to kiss me. “Thank you Alpha. I love you.”
With that she left. Charlotte was not my mate, but what I felt for her was the closet thing to love. She was strong and a good Luna. She was not weak, and she shared my greatest passion; the welfare of the pack.
Charlotte was my Beta's younger sister, and so we had known each other since we were children. I had never cared about finding my mate. If I could help it I would rule over my pack alone. I was more than capable. Since it was custom to have a Luna, I chose Charlotte.
Christopher, my beta, was waiting for me outside with his car.
“s*x is great and all but if I'm correct you've been having it three times a day for the last month,” he mused as I got into the car. “You're taking the thrill out of it.”
I groaned. “Charlotte is trying to get pregnant.”
“And you're opposed because?” He asked as we drove off.
“I'm not. She's just rushing it,” I shrugged.
He didn't say anything. We arrived to the holding cells. Mostly they only kept rogues or trespassers before deciding their punishment for being a nuisance.
The ward led us in, and as soon as I stepped into the corridor, it hit me. I stopped. A sweet scent that almost made me feral.
“What's wrong?” Chris asked, stopping beside me.
I walked down the corridor, following the scent until I stood at the very last cell door. She looked up at me, her eyes bright with tears. Her hair was a light shade of brown, and it fell all the way down to her waist. She was pale, but that was probably because she was afraid. Her skin was covered in dirt, and she wore only a bra and jeans.
“Is she a rogue?” I asked the ward through mind link.
“No, Alpha. She's human. She was the one who saw Jaime transform. He said he panicked and went back for her. He didn't know what she would do. ”
She slowly walked closer to the cell door, taking deep, slow breaths. Even her breath made my head spin.
“Please…let me go…I won't tell anyone…” she whimpered. “You need to let me go…”
Her tears streaked through the dirt on her face.
Her body trembled as she locked eyes with me. She watched me intently for a moment, slightly tilting her head. I knew she could feel something, but because she was human it probably confused her. She was a small woman, yet there was this look of determination in her eyes.
“What's going on?” Christopher asked.
“She's my mate.”
