William Pov
The forest was lit up by tons of lights hanging from the trees, cascading down like twinkling raindrops. So many candles on the ground could cause a forest fire but It was beautiful and extravagant you would almost think there was no danger lurking in the dark. Delilah had already made her way to her friends. Her smile lit up the room brighter than the lights and candles could ever do. She was truly incredible. I think she could feel my eyes on her. She looked over her shoulder a few times and when our eyes met she quickly looked away. I felt like an old man for the first time in my life. I was surrounded by all the parents. I tried to stay involved in the conversation but it was unamusing. Music was playing but no one was dancing or paying too much attention to it. None of Delilah's friends were doing anything. They just stood around and talked with each other.
"Okay kids, we're leaving," Aria announced.
"WE ARE!" James and Mason said together.
"Yes, let's go," Aria pushed them away. "You coming?" Aria looked over to me and I nodded. I felt her eyes on me but I didn't want to turn around and look at her.
Delilah Pov
My parents standing around didn't make any of my friends eager to dance or grab something to drink. The minute they left everyone started to loosen up and partied like it was the first time. I felt this longing in my heart. I missed him. I wanted him to stay close. I hated that I had this feeling but I couldn't deny it.
"Happy Birthday my bestie," May came to squeeze the life out of me.
"Love you," I said as I kissed her forehead. Wes came up behind me and grabbed my waist.
"Want to dance?" he asked. I smiled and took his hand. Everything felt so right with Wes.
" Tell me something, I need to know
Then take my breath and never let it go
If you just let me invade your space
I'll take the pleasure, take it with the pain and if in the moment I bite my lip
Baby, in that moment, you'll know this
Is something bigger than us and beyond bliss
Give me a reason to believe in"
Holding on to Wes, being in his strong arms, How was he not my mate? He whispered in my ear and kissed me slightly. Even though my parents were gone we had to be careful. Some of our friends might think it wrong of us to do this while we were fated to another. As I looked around, I saw mated couples. It broke my heart. Didn't I deserve that too? I wanted to find my mate and be happy like my parents but my story wasn't that simple. I had a nice night. I had a few drinks but I was slightly tipsy. I wandered off on my own. After dancing for hours I just needed to take a breather.
"Bored?" I heard his deep voice say. I knew he had been watching me but I didn't want to acknowledge it. I wanted to pretend he didn't exist. When he exists, my heart melts and I see nothing but him. I can't have him. I know that but still.
"No, I just wanted some air," I said.
"You're outside," he said with a soft laugh.
"Yeah," I didn't have anything witty to say back. "What are you doing here?"
"I have something for you," he said. I wanted to turn around but he stopped me. His strong arms holding me in place. "Don't move." He placed his hands on my hair and pulled it to one side. He was putting a necklace on me. I looked down at it. It was a gold heart-shaped moonstone necklace. It was a dainty little thing but it was perfect.
"It will bring you strength, calmness, and good fortune," he said.
"I heard it helps with your energy and enhances psychic abilities," I held the stone with my fingers.
"I don't think you need help with that my little clairvoyant but yes I heard it helps with that too," he smiled. I turned around just in time to see a bit of it.
"Why did you buy this for me?"
"Because I know you would like it and it suits you," he knew that's not what I meant.
"You wanted to buy me a gift because?" I tried to lure him.
"Because it is your birthday," he said. I stepped closer to him. I know my chest was accentuated in this dress. His eyes never lowered but I knew he was tempted.
"I want to taste you?" I said boldly. His eyes grew wide. I knew he wanted it too. I stepped even closer and his hands held me at the waist. I positioned myself at his neck and was about to bite when he quickly pressed his lips on mine. I cupped his face and kissed him as deeply as I could. I felt all of my lust hit the surface. I wanted to have him. I wanted everything. His hands reached the bottom of my dress and slowly lifted it up.
"What the hell?" I heard Wes shout.
"Wes!" I shouted but it was too late. Wes had already run and pushed William to the ground.
"WES STOP!" I shouted. May quickly ran to my side.
"What's going on," she turned and saw Willaim holding Wes's hands so he couldn't hit him.
"STOP!" I shouted.
"WHAT THE f**k!" I heard my father curse as he ran to William. "Let him go." Mason ran to his son's side.
"What the hell is wrong with you vamp," Mason said. Since Mason didn't bother saying his name I knew he was pissed.
"He was, He was-," Wes couldn't even finish his sentence.
"Stop Wes, please," I pleaded. My mother came over to me.
"Oh no," she must have smelled his scent on me. "Dear."
"You son of a-,"
"Dad don't," I cried.
"Why? Why in the world would you? and you," my father grew angrier by the minute.
"Let me kill him," Wes said.
"Why does it matter so much to you," my mother questioned. Wes look dumbfounded and looked at the ground.
"s**t," I whispered to myself.
"Mom please," I said. She held my hands and took me home.
"All of you go home," she ordered.
