chapter 4

-lilys pov-

I wake up from a good night's sleep and just look down at the bed and give a small smile realizing it's morning, I sit up and stretch then look over towards Liam's bed. I give a chuckle on the inside seeing his messy hair and that he's completely sprawled out like a star fish.

I look at the time quickly, and notice it's 10. damn I must've been really tired. I run to Liam's bed and jump on him. "Happy birthday sleepy head!!"

Liam groans and opens one eye looking at me. "no!" he lets out a little growl and within 1.5 seconds he's lifted the blanket and and pulled me against him under the covers. "sleep time"

"hey! no fair" I roll over and poke him in the cheek. "come on it's 10"

Liam lets out a light growl and a groan. "you know for an almost 16 year old your no fun. you never want to sleep in"

I let out a soft giggle as he nuzzles his head back into the pillow and part of my neck. "this is sleeping in its ten! your terrible"

Liams lets out a light chuckle. "sorry your just comfortable, time to go back to sleep."

Lily hears a knock and the door open, she looks over to see her dad in the doorway. "morning dad! I tried waking Liam but he insists on sleeping longer.

Liam lifts his head to look at my dad. Leon looks at lily and Liam in Liam's bed then looks to the couch to see the bed pulled out and looks like someone slept in it. "so I assume there was no issues?" he says looking at Liam instead knowing full well Liam knew what he meant.

Lily looks between Liam and her dad a little confused. " no....?"

Liam chuckles and gets out of bed moving enough of the blanket as he goes to show that Lily's still dressed and he's got pants on. "all good sir."

Leon nods. "great let's go eat we have a big day ahead of us birthday boy."

"yes!" I stand up on the bed and jump off excitedly.

"ok I'll see you downstairs I'm gonna grab a shower first." Liam says looking my way.

"ok I'm going to go for a run." I walk out of his room and down the stairs looking at my family sitting in the livingroom. "mum, do you have a hair tie I forgot mine and I want to go for a run and view the grounds while I'm at it?"

"oh yes here." my mom pulls a hair tie off her wrist and hands it to me giving me a kiss on the cheek before sitting back with dad.

"thanks!" I ruffle James' hair as I walk passed him and out the door heading down the stairs two steps at a time eager to get to my run. I notice a couple of she wolves at the bottom of the stairs glaring at me but shrug it off and get outside. goddess it's so beautiful here.

I take off at a light pace trying to figure out where I want to run and decide I'm going to run by the lake and behind the pack house to the forest edge, picking up my pace as I go. I get to the edge of the forest and look around, taking in the beautiful trees and the smell of up north. I don't think I'm ever going to get used to this it's just so beautiful here, I look at my watch realizing I've spent an hour jogging around the lake and behind the pack house and head back.

I walk into the pack house and notice the same girls that glared at me are still staring up the stairs as I walk passed one of them grabs my arm. "oh ew your all sweaty" she wipes her hand on one of her friends. "you servant girl, your heading up to Liam's quarters tell him his girlfriend is waiting for him."

I look at her a little confused and agitated that she called me a servant, she's tall and has straight blonde hair. her facial expression looks stuck up and not very friendly, she seemed entitled, her two friends were just as tall as her they had blonde hair too almost as if they were trying to imitate the girl that grabbed my arm. "first of all, I don't know you, secondly I'm an alphas daughter you will not speak to me that way, and third if he's your boyfriend get him your damn self." I walk up the steps ignoring their name calling and get to the alphas quarters I take a deep breath before going in a little confused about what she said.

"hey! your back, catch" Liam throws a bottle of water at me and I catch it.

"thanks." I look at Liam and take a quick drink of water.

"why do you look pissed off." Liam says sitting on the counter.

"your girlfriend grabbed my arm downstairs called me a servant and demanded I tell you she's waiting for you, I'm going for a shower." I walk away before he says anything and run up the stairs to his room. I shut the door and lean against it. damn it. calm down lily. I start thinking about why he wouldnt tell me he has a girlfriend and images of them kissing pops into my head, then the image switches to seeing him without a shirt last night. I grab some clothes and head into his bathroom to get a shower and quickly turn the hot water on hoping the heat will ease my muscles.

I get in and lean against the wall under the hot water letting it calm my nerves. I've liked him forever, we've been friends for forever, if he has a girlfriend why didn't he mention it. I put some shampoo in my hair and conditioner, wash my body quickly and climb out wrapping a towel around me and walking over to the counter and looking at the mirror. he probably thinks of me like a little sister. maybe it's time to grow up and make some other friends here, get over my crush.

I put my clothes on quickly and walk out of the bathroom and jump when I see Liam sitting on the edge of his bed looking at me, his facial expression looking sad with a moxture of anger. "I'm sorry you were treated badly by someone here."

I look at Liam quietly after throwing the towel in the hamper and putting my dirty clothes in a bag for laundry. "it's fine, don't worry about it. she doesn't know who I am. I'm sorry but I was agitated with your girlfriend and I pissed her off by telling her not to speak to me the way she did."

"she's not my girlfriend, and good I'm happy you stood up for yourself."

"I don't think she knows that then. maybe you should let her know that shes not yojr girlfriend." I lean against the back of the couch looking at him, I grab my hair brush and quietly brush my hair.

"I'm clearing it up with you first."

"you don't need to, I'm like a little sister to you it's fine." I walk out of his room quietly and head downstairs retying my hair up and grabbing my canvas and some paints.

-liam-

little sister. I don't think of her as a little sister, does she think of me like a big brother. I walk over to the window and look out it. damn it. what am I going to do

-lily-

"hunny where are you going with all your art stuff." mom says sitting at the table with aunt Carol.

"I figured I should start Liam's birthday present I can't give it to him until tomorrow though." I head for the door.

"be safe love you"

"love you too mom" I walk out the door to bump into Bryan. "oh hey"

"where's the dumbass" he says giving a chuckle. "his room" I walk passed him and head for the stairs.

"where are you going?" Bryan says and I look back at him.

"I'm going to go paint have fun." I walk down the stairs, relief washing over me when the girls aren't there and out the front door. I head for the lake with all my stuff figuring it would probably be the most tranquil there. I sit on the grass and pull all my supplies out, setting up my small easel and putting the canvas on it. this is going to take forever. I grab a thin paint brush and start painting quietly.

-5 hours later-

Not realizing how much time has passed I stop and look at the work I've accomplished. it looks really good so far I managed to get alot of Liam's handsome features in this and left enough room for the rest. I look at the container my dad brought down and open it to find some chicken and potatoes and quite a few other assortments. I pick at the chicken and potatoes and stare out at the lake.

All of a sudden I here a small cry and look behind my easel and notice a Wolf pup by itself not to far away. "you poor thing" I stand up with my container and walk over to it slowly making sure not to scare it away. "are you hungry little fella" I sit down infront it and pull some chicken out to give to the pup.

-liam-

I was outside with Bryan walking and talking about lily and misty the girl that told lily I was her boyfriend. Bryan knows that I've had feelings for lily forever and understands.

"Liam, Lily is going to get hurt!" Bryan says grabbing my shoulder and pointing to lily whose by the lake.

I try and see what she's doing when I realize she's sitting by a Wolf pup I look around and spot the mother wolf running at lily. "F**k" I start running towards them.

-lily-

I hand the pup some chicken and look up to see the mother wolf running at me and the pup, when she gets to us she's snarling at me, I try to think quickly and I look at the container of food and hold it up quickly. the mother wolf stops snarling and looks at the food and I put the container down closer to her. "it's ok I'm not going to hurt you or your pup, I promise."

"Lily!!!"

I jump and look back and see Liam running towards us and put my hand up to stop him knowing hell anger the wolf and I'll get hurt he stops and I look back at the wolf whose in a scared stance not sure what to do. "I'm sorry. he's scared for me like your scared for your pup. I promise I won't hurt you." I hold my hand out hoping the wolf will sniff my hand and smell I'm ok and not a threat. "it's ok."

The wolf walks up to my hand sniffs it then walks up to my face, it's long snout nearly touching my cheek i can see her fangs clearly. I sit still holding my composure and breath trying not to be frightened and alarm the wolf. the wolf nudges me with her snout signaling it's ok and moves away laying with her pup by me and eating the food from the bowl.

I let out the breath I was holding and pet the wolfs head and give the pup a little scratch behind the ears. "your both very beautiful. thank you momma for trusting me."

The wolf looks up at me and I take the container and empty it infront of her so her and the pup can have its contents. "I'm going to go get cleaned up. The sun's starting to set. See that bafoon over there it's his birthday today and he's going to get his wolf tonight."

I stand up and pack away all my things and walk over to Liam who grabs me and holds onto me closely causing me to drop my stuff. "hey!"

"no, don't, you i***t you could have been killed." Liam keeps his arms wrapped tightly around me.

I look passed him and see Bryan coming out with our parents.

I laugh and look up at him. "not before I meet your wolf. come on let's go get ready for your change."

Liam lets go of me quietly. I go to pick up my stuff but Liam beats me to it. "I can carry my own stuff."

"no I got it. what is all this." he says looking at all of it.

I grab the canvas and hold it against me. "my paint stuff. hey speaking of your birthday can I give you your present tomorrow evening."

Liam looks at me with a smirk which I give him a small smile for. "sure but 24 hours Andrews this time tomorrow I want my present."

"ok" I let out a laugh. I walk up to my parents. "I'm sorry I scared the boys and all of you."

My dad looks at me with a very serious look. "you could have been killed, this isn't your territory your new here."

"I know I'm sorry, truly." I look down at the floor quietly.

"go get dressed hunny, were just relieved your ok, Liam's change will be happening and Colin and Carol have invited us even though his first change is normally just family." my mom puts a hand on my shoulder with a small smile.

"ok. thank you uncle Colin and aunt Carol" I walk passed and into the pack house and up the stairs quietly. oh man, I'm going to be on a short leash now.

I walk into Liam's room and grab some jeans, a tank top and sweater and get changed quickly knowing that this is informal and I don't have to get all fancy. I stare at myself in the mirror fully dressed. I hear a knock on the door and look over to see Liam coming in slowly.

"Are you all ready?" he says leaning against the door frame.

"yes I am." I walk over to him and link my arm with his. We walk out of his room and down the stairs. " so are you excited, scared, nervous?" I say looking up at him.

"all of the above, but more excited to finally meet him." he says looking down at me as we walk out of the apartment and head down the stairs.

"well I'm excited to meet your wolf, I wonder what he will look like"

"Liammmmmm" misty says and grabs Liam's arm yanking him away from me.

Liam sighs and pulls away from her. "what do you want misty"

"I lost my invitation to your changing and I cant wait to see your wolf tonight"

" you didn't lose your invitation you weren't invited" Liam says going to grab my hand.

"well why is she invited and not me I'm your girlfriend not her.

Liam looks at her bewildered. " your not my girlfriend and you never have been, ive told you that multiple times so stop giving yourself that title youll never have it."

"well let me give you your birthday present. let me stay over tonight" she walks up and puts her hands on his chest and whispers some dirty things in his ear.

"no, no and no. go find your mate misty its not going to happen again" he pulls her off him and moves her to the side grabs my hand and walks out. " I'm sorry Lily"

"its ok Liam, also if you want to have your birthday present from her I can sleep downstairs I don't want to interrupt your life." I look up at him quietly.

Liam stops walking and looks at me. "no, I don't want it, she is just a she wolf, I'm not interested in her."

I nod quietly, and Liam nods and starts walking again into the forest.

"Liam, Lily you guys took awhile." Colin says walking over to us.

Liam sighs, "yea misty caused some crap sorry dad."

Colin nods. "lily ill show you where you'll sit"

I nod and follow uncle Colin letting go of Liam's hand and sit beside my little brother and father.

I lean my head against my dad and look up at the sky wondering what tonight's going to bring and what Liam's wolf will look like.

Colin and Liam walk ahead passed a couple trees. Next thing I hear is bones cracking and i put my hand over my mouth my dad letting out a little chuckle.

Colin comes back after the sounds of bones breaking stops. "well he's made the change."

I get a little excited and hear a howl. Out walks a very large completely black wolf. "oh he's beautiful"

my dad smiles and nods. "can definitely see the alpha genes"

"his name is Blake" uncle colin says and walks over to carol and sits beside her.

Blake walks over to his mom and nuzzles his head against hers and then looks towards lily and walks over laying his front paws and head down looking at her with his back end still standing.

I look at him smiling and put my hand on his head smiling. "hello"

"he's insinuating you get on" uncle colin says.

I look at my parents to see if theyre ok with it and when they give me a nod i climb onto his back and hug his neck gently. once he stands he immediately takes off i let out a squeal holding onto him toghtly. after awhile of running, I sit up and look around completely in love with the speed and the feel of the wind going through my hair.

Blake jumps over some fallen trees and just keeps running, he stops when we reach a waterfall in the forest and a small lake.

I look around completely in awe and slide off him but keep my hand on his back. i walk forward a little and look at his face. "goddess your a very handsome wolf" I look over alot of his facial features taking in the completely black fur and black nose that has a couple pink specs in it, his wolf still has liams striking grey eyes. he nuzzles his head into my hand and lets out growl that sounds like a pur.

I sit down on the ground and look around the area taking in the sights. Blake lays beside me, leaning against me. i scratch behind his ears letting out a small laugh at how snuggly he is, like a big teddy bear, a very big teddy bear as hes huge.
