Alora POV
I'm seething, what a butch of d***s to even think what they said was ok. not on my watch, divkheads.
'We are not some weakling that they have to protect. We are Alpha born, and they treat us like that.' Veda fumes just as angry as me.
'I know. How can they treat us that way. We can't even make our minds up on silly notes, and this is the exact reason I didn't tell them,' we are ranting so much that I almost stormed into someone, luckily for me I'm still holding Hollys hand and she pulls me gently to a stop.
"Sorry," I mumble without even looking up, and a huff of annoyance and heels clinking the floor hits my ears, making me look up.
Ruby, I'm seriously not in the mood for her s**t today. Luckily for me, she doesn't say anything at all and walks to her friends, I don't think I could listen to her annoying, nasally screech of a voice.
"Are you OK?" I ask Holly hating the fact she was reprimanded for following my instructions.
"Yes, I'm fine, just pissed at my stupid mate," she is angry, and I don't blame her.
"I apologise, you shouldn't have been spoken down on because I asked you not to say anything," but she smiles at me, "I don't blame you at all and I'll always have your back. Gage, on the other hand, is in the doghouse. I can't believe he sided with the Alphas without even asking me a question of what I knew. He can f**k off" she growled out. "Yes the same as my mates, they can f**k off too" I growl out causing us both to giggle.
"I think we need ice cream and a visit with Donna if you feel up to it?" I smile, and we both agree on that plan of action.
We walk from the kitchen, armed with a tub of ice cream and 3 spoons, heading to the clinic.
I feel a pull on my link. Someone is trying to contact me, but I'm reluctant to open it as I don't want to talk to my mates right now.
Whoever it is, though, isn't giving up, and I let down my wall, opening my link.
'Alora,' Aiden managed to get my name out before I blocked him completely. Another tug on the link, and this time, it's Austin 'Plea-', and again, I block him.
No, thank you, not today.
I look at Holly, and her eyes are glazed over, but in a flash, they clear.
"Talking to me like he's in the right," she hissed at his downright audacity. "I've blocked mine," I say, and she smiles. "Me too," and we both laugh.
They are going to have to try harder than that after pulling that kind of s**t.
We reach Donnas hospital room and knock.
Greyson opens the door quietly. "Hey, she's sleeping at the minute," he whispers, closing the door behind him as he steps out of the room.
"How is she?" I ask, but his smile puts me at ease. "She is doing great her leg is healed completely, but she's tired. She's been a sleep for a while, and I want her to rest as much as possible." Both me and Holly give his arm a gentle squeeze. "If you need us, just link," I offer, and he nods in agreement.
"Thank you, Luna." and we turn to leave.
"She will be gutted to miss out on the ice cream," Holly sighs. "More for us," I giggle, but the door opens behind us. "I don't think so, do you?" Donna says offended that we would suggest such a thing. We turn, and Greyson has already picked her up bridal style. "I can walk, my pain had gone," Donna said, rolling her eyes, but he didn't listen and carried her to the bed.
Greysons eyes glazed over, and he frowns a little. "The Alphas have asked to see me! Will you be ok, baby? I'll come straight back," he asks Donna. We know he can't go against his Alphas, but it nice he gives her the choice.
He's definitely showing to be a good mate, which stings my chest a little thinking about my mates.
"You go, we are going to be eating ice cream and chatting anyway." She smiles while shaking the spoon in the air. Greyson gives her a kiss on her forehead, and I can see how reluctant he is to leave. "I'll link you if anything pops up." I try to reassure him, and he gives a small nod, "thank you," He said before leaving.
"Firstly, open the damned ice cream it smells yummy and secondly, spill whatever it is that's bugging the two of you," I should have known she would pick up on us feeling crap.
"Fine," Holly huffs and pops the lid off of the ice cream, and we all dig our spoons in before we speak.
We have practically eaten the whole tub, and I lean back in my chair, stuffed, rubbing my belly in satisfaction.
"What's happened?" Donna finally asks as we all sit in ice cream comas.
"Our mates are d***s" I say and she starts coughing, she obviously didn't expect that answer.
She c***s her eyebrow at me waiting for further explanation.
"They were all pissed about the notes," Holly stated. "Actually they are d***s because they hadn't even read the notes, hadn't even asked what the notes were about but they all were doubting Hollys ability to being the beta female because she didn't report to her Alphas" I rolled my eyes as I explained but Donna gasped because she knew how serious Holly took her role in our pack, as we all do "Aww honey, are you OK?" she asks Holly, taking her hand in hers.
"Yes, I'm good, I've got my Lunas back, and if it was anything more sinister than immature ramblings it would have been shown to them but by Alora not me" she says with finality and we are all in agreement.
THEY ARE d***s.
We sit and chat for ages, giving all the details of what we know concerning the attack because she wanted to know and Greyson wouldn't tell her but we refused to go into detail about the teauma she suffered. I wouldn't want to distress on details of her injuries, but we did tell her some sort of potion was poured into the water and that it was Isla and her grandparents that had saved her. We just gave her the skimmed version, and it seems to satisfy her.
We can see she's tired but don't want her to be alone, and I know she will fight sleep while we are here.
'Hey Greyson, she is tired. Do you want to come back so she will sleep?' I link and wait for a reply, and it doesn't take long to get one 'yes Luna, I will be there in a minute' and I cut the link.
The Dr enters with Greyson, but before Greyson can fully get in the room, I ask him for a word outside.
I close the door behind me, even though I'm sure they could still hear us as the rooms aren't sound proof, which I will be mentioning because it was awful to hear Donna's screams out in the waiting room and I can't think of anything worse for the families waiting and hearing the painful cries from their loved ones.
"Is there any progress I should know about?" I ask Greyson, but he keeps his head down."No, Luna," but I can see he is tense. "I take it that you have been informed about the notes?" I ask, and he stiffens. "Yes Luna," what is with the two word answers? "Don't be a d**k like our mates, Donna has been through enough without judgement from her mate. They followed their Lunas orders, and that is all there is to it, " I state, and I see his shoulders relax slightly.
"Thankyou Luna, I wouldn't question her loyalties and not because I almost lost her but because I know she is loyal to you, our Alphas and this pack and if you deemed it fit to keep them to yourself you had reasons to" his reply shocks me but I'm happy to hear it.
We left and headed to the gardens.
We are not ready to see our mates, and I feel so tired, I'm just not sure if it's because I'm pregnant or because I've just had enough of today. Maybe both.
