[Emily's POV ] [Three months ago] I just turned twenty, but it was just another year adding to my years of subjection. Tonight is the night that Ethan will be mated by the Moon Goddess after his five years reign as Alpha. Important members of the kingdom and visiting Alphas gathered at the Moonwalkers castle, all to witness the sacred mating ceremony. The festival commenced, and Beatrice took on the role of summoning the presence of the Moon Goddess. Beatrice wasn't a werewolf like Ethan and me, but she possesses great powers as a witch. Over the years, she had learn the ropes of her skills and mastered numerous spells. Whispers spread among the gathered crowd, reverence was shining in their eyes as they were to witness the magical spectacle unfolding before them. The atmosphere was charged with expectancy, everyone patiently awaited for the Moon Goddess's arrival. As the festival continued in all its grandeur, Beatrice initiated the summoning of the Moon Goddess. The atmosphere crackled with anticipation as the veil between realms opened, and the Moon Goddess made her presence known. The Moon Goddess appeared in the form of a human figure, composed of shimmering white smoke. Her true face remained hidden, veiled from mortal eyes. Legend whispered that only the pure of heart could behold her true beauty. The moon goddess extended her hand, and a ringlet of smoke spring forth, weaving through the air. It embarked on a quest to find Ethan's rightful Luna, the one who would stand by his side and support him on his journey as Alpha. Nobles from far and wide had sent their daughters to the festival, hoping to catch the eyes of Ethan and become his chosen mate. However, the Moon Goddess had other plans. [The mating] To the astonishment of all, the ringlet of smoke settled upon my head. And soon, there was a great mumbling across the entire castle. I stood there, utterly bewildered, unable to understand the gravity of the situation. How could the Moon Goddess choose me, Emily, as the mate of my own brother, Ethan? It was a twist of fate that defied all reason and logic. Ethan and Beatrice, along with everyone present, was equally shocked and bewildered by the Moon Goddess's choice. The murmurs and whispers grew louder, echoing through the grand castle hall. How could the Alpha be mated to his own sister? It seemed inconceivable, a knot that challenged our understanding of the world. Ethan felt like the Moon Goddess was playing games with him, with a renounce tone he muttered to the Moon Goddess. "Divine one, Emily is my sister. It is not possible for us to be mates," he expressed, his tone carried a shivering balance of reverence and confusion. The Moon Goddess's attention was directed to Ethan as her words carried the weight of destiny. "Emily is your rightful mate, chosen by forces beyond mortal reasoning. The threads of fate have intertwined your lives." The reply of the Moon Goddess sent shockwaves through the hall once again, increasing the murmurs and mumbles. As the crowd continued to buzz with astonishment, Ethan's frustration bubbled to the surface. He raised an eyebrow of fury towards the Moon Goddess. "This is a cruel twist of fate. Is this your way of punishing me? Or, perhaps the Moon Goddess...., had gone mad!" The ill tempered Ethan retorted The crowd fell silent, their gazes shifting between Ethan and the Moon Goddess. Tension hung in the air, as the weight of Ethan's audacity echoed throughout the castle. The Moon Goddess's expression hardened as her eyes narrowed. "How dare you, a mortal man show insolence to a deity?" Her anger changed the tension of the atmosphere, thunder echoed to show little sign of her wrath to come. "For your rebellion, Ethan, I shall lay upon you this day a curse you will forever carry until you accept your mating," the Moon Goddess declared as her voice echoed through the hall. The crowd watched in fear and anticipation, wondering what dreadful curse awaited Ethan. Beatrice, unable to bear the thought of her beloved cousin suffer from a curse, she stepped forward and pleaded on Ethan's behalf. "Please, Divine one, have mercy! Ethan is a good and just Alpha. He's just shocked and confused by your unexpected choice. Give him a chance to process this Mating, Divine one." Despite Beatrice's plea, the Moon Goddess remained adamant. "I have made my decision, and it shall stand. Until Ethan embraces his true destiny and acknowledges Emily as his rightful mate, the curse shall be his burden to bear." I could see the furiousness in Ethan's eyes, it was as if he could wrestle the moon goddess and prevail, despite she being the deity that granted us our werewolf Nature. [Ethan's Curse] The air grew heavy with tension as the Moon Goddess continued her decree. "You shall no longer have control of your spirit wolf and transformation. Your abilities as an Alpha will be underneath that of your Omega." Gasps and murmurs spread like wildfire through the crowd. Stripping Ethan, the mighty Alpha of his werewolf ability was an unimaginable punishment. Many feared for the future of the Moonwalkers pack, uncertain how their Alpha would lead them without his formidable powers. Ethan double up his fists, his eyes locked with the Moon Goddess as he accepted him dreadful curse. "If it is my fate, then so be it. But I cannot accept Emily as my mate. She is my half sister, and even though she's not, I'm not accepting someone who caused the death of our parent." "She's not your sister, but you have to prove that to the world yourself. I would have done so today if not for your arrogance. You may resist this mating, but the curse shall remain until you realize the true meaning of your connection with her. The choice is yours, Alpha." The Moon Goddess stated. With those haunting words, she disappeared in a twist of moonlit smoke, leaving the hall in silence. The weight of the curse now rested on Ethan's shoulders. Will Ethan ever accept Emily? Or will he forever remained in his cursed life?
