Skyler’s POV
As I finish consuming the last drop of my second bag of blood, my father makes his way down the staircase. With caution, I gather the empty blood bags and conceal them within a garbage bag, securely hiding them in my workout bag. Time is of the essence, as we have to hurry for our training session.
“Feeling any better, sport?” Dad asks, tousling my hair with a grin.
“DAD! What on earth possessed you to do that?” I complain, and my frustration is clear as I try to fix the situation. While he stands there, amused, his laughter fills the room.
“Let's do this!” I exclaim, leaping out of my seat as we make a beeline for the front door. Once we are at ease inside the jeep, I waste no time turning on the music, filling the air with the captivating melodies of timeless Guns and Roses tracks.
With joy in our hearts, we wholeheartedly sing along, creating a harmonious atmosphere as we start on this memorable trip. Although Uncle Neo may not be my biological uncle, I have been fortunate enough to have known him since my infancy, cherishing the bond we share.
Despite not venturing into his main domain, we explored the surrounding areas following a long drive. Finally, we made it to a captivating forest and located a suitable spot to park our vehicle. To prepare ourselves for the demanding training session ahead, we embarked on a three-mile walk to warm up our bodies.
Dad's face lights up with excitement as he presents an exhilarating challenge. “Today, I have something incredibly exciting in store for you,” he exclaims. “I want you to kick-start your routine with your usual ten laps, just like you always do. But wait, here's the twist: I want you to take it up a notch and conquer ten more laps within the enchanting realm of the trees.”
“Dad, do you realize the toll this will take on me?” I complain, my voice filled with a hint of desperation, even though deep down I know I can handle it. But after this, I’ll be exhausted.
“Let's get to work, Skyler. We want you to be the best you can be, and that means putting in the effort to train. Your mom and I won't always be by your side,” Dad emphasizes.
I begin my training session by starting with a slow jog, slowly increasing my pace until I am sprinting at maximum capacity. In an impressively short period, I easily triumph over ten rounds of running, surpassing my expectations. Adhering to the specific guidance of my father.
Filled with excitement, I throw myself towards a nearby tree, brimming with anticipation to begin on this phase of my workout routine. With impressive agility, I navigate through the branches, ascending with increasing height and driven by an unwavering determination. With great attention to detail, I preserve my balance and avoid any potential mishaps.
As I near the end of my dash through the thick forest, a distinct sound from the right seized my attention. Without warning, an intimidating gang of Rogues appears in front of me just as I am preparing to descend from the towering trees. Their fierce growls and exposed fangs cause a chilling sensation to run down my back.
My father rapidly shifts into his majestic wolf form, creating a profound telepathic bond with me immediately. With unwavering courage, he fearlessly commands me to stay concealed among the towering trees, boldly confronting the relentless rogues and shielding us from their relentless onslaught.
Despite the discomfort that envelops me, I remain watchful and prepared to take action at a moment’s notice, completely ignoring my father’s stern orders to remain stationary.
Witnessing the ferocious assault of the wolf pack was incredibly awe-inspiring, as their sheer power and fearlessness were showcased in full force.
Within a blink of an eye, my father's innate survival instincts took over, propelling him into immediate action. With impressive agility, he targeted the leader wolf and rapidly closed his jaws around its vulnerable throat, leading to the creature’s abrupt collapse onto the unforgiving terrain.
The remaining wolves quickly disappeared into the obscurity of the surrounding darkness, their haunting howls reverberating through the night. With the tension easing over time, my father transforms back into his human form, and I descend from the towering trees. Filled with a blend of astonishment and admiration.
“What was the reason for not letting me help? I have enough power!” I ask with frustration.
“Absolutely. You have the strength and resilience to handle life autonomously. Others don't have to comprehend the full extent of your capabilities beyond being a wolf. We must exercise patience and wait until you get your mates before disclosing the truth.” Dad pauses.
“Why don't we try shifting into our wolves?” my dad proposes, noticing my difficulty in shifting. Despite my efforts, my wolf seems to hold back and is hesitant to emerge.
While I settle into a comfortable position, I attempt to unwind and enter a state of meditation. I focus on emptying my mind, attempting to let go of any lingering thoughts or distractions. I put forth my best efforts, trying various techniques to coax my inner wolf to emerge, but to my dismay, she remains elusive.
Feeling a mix of disappointment and annoyance, I rise from my seat and start pacing back and forth. In a state of intense search, she looks for answers as to why she resists the transformation.
