Introduction
The bustling city of Wolfsbane was the capital of the Silver Ashes Pack. Located deep in the forest, at the bottom of the Barrel Mountains it was a true fortress. The thick walls surrounding it were sure to keep off any unwanted guests. It was protected by true wolf warriors around the clock. Human like wolves were guarding the walls, while others in their true form were scouting the forests. Even though they had peace for almost a decade, they were cautious. Life was ever so unpredictable.
Inside the walls life was peaceful and happy. There was a big wood sign signaling the entrance to the city ,, Welcome to Wolfsbane – Population 35246’’ The town square was a round cobbled stone walkway. It had a huge rock fountain in the middle, lots of trees around it and many resting places. Next to it was a great playground, wolf children had so much energy and loved to play. Around the walkway there were many shops, you could really find anything you needed. There were cafes, restaurants, a pastry shop, a beauty parlor, a gym,a supermarket, a drugstore, a little hospital and so many more. Twice a week wolf farmers from Ranch Town, also belonging to the pack, came to fill the market with fresh produce. The town businesses were run by locals and the employees were also local werewolfs.
They had kindergartens, schools and a college where young wolves could not only learn modern trades, but they could take up carpentry or blacksmith, even gardening.
All the town houses were made out of wood and stone, a perfect craftsmanship. They had flowers at every window, green lawns, and bright red roofs. The only apartment buildings were around the town’s square.
On the outskirts they had tennis courts and an adventure park. Around the lake there was this enormous hall where they would host their mating parties. On the other side of the lake one could go for a boat ride or fishing.
Above all the beauty of the city, built on the growing mountain was the pack house. That was where the Alpha King and his family lived. It was two stories high. On the ground floor there was a huge living room, the kitchen, dining, games room, greenhouse, a small gym and rooms for the servants. On the first floor resided his extended family. His mother and father, brothers and sisters with their families all had separate apartments there. And on the second floor was his private home. It had a living space with a sky roof, a small kitchen and dining, plenty of rooms for his children and a master bedroom for him and his mate, the Luna of the pack. It was surrounded by a huge terrace with a jacuzzi and view of the entire forest and town.
Deep in the mountains, the Silver Ashes Pack had a military compound. They would gather all the rogue wolves and all the unmated ones over the age of 35. They were dangerous and full of rage. They were trained to use that fury in battles against enemies and were lethal weapons. With nothing to lose they had no mercy on the battlefield.
The Silver Ashes Pack wasn’t always this way. Up until the great war, almost 18 years ago, it was a normal town marked by supremacy fights between packs. On a fatal night, Killarney, their Alpha, was injured badly and the fate of the pack was uncertain. Kane, his 16 year old son, next in line, took his position without hesitation. It was unusual to let a teenager run a pack, but Kane was a pure blood wolf and was bigger and more powerful than any wolf his age and beyond. With great determination and ruthless actions he managed, in almost 18 years of reign as an Alpha, to build a clan like no other, prosperous, organized and feared. He had treaties with all the other clans thus maintaining peace for nearly a decade and validating him as their King. The only thing he was missing was his mate. When he would reach the ripe age of 35 years old, he would have to choose a she-wolf for a formal marriage and that didn’t make him as powerful as he needed to be to continue to rule the world. He was nine months short of finding her.
