Mate Camp

Chapter Nine

I turned around to face my best friend and just smiled. "What happened? You have to tell me everything!" 

"Shh... I don't want people to overhear us. Let's get these boxes inside and we can catch up." I said to stop her from talking too loud. 

Jill and I went to my new room and waited for Katie to arrive. I didn't want to leave anything out having to tell the story twice, so we decided I'd tell them both at the same time. To be honest, I don't even believe it myself. Jill is pacing up and down the room. She is excited like a kid in a candy store. We heard a knock on the door and gave each other a knowing look, before Jill went to open it. Katie stood there in jogging pants and a hoodie giving us an expectant facial expression. "This better be good. I usually don't leave my bed this early on Saturday's!" She said and then took a sip from her overly large coffee mug. 

"It's 11am Katie!" Jill remarked. 

"Your point?" Katie asked in return, raising her perfectly groomed eyebrows. 

I sighed and said "Guys." hinting at the more important situation on hand. Jill closed the door and said

"Sorry. Go ahead Jessie. Tell us every single detail!" and she threw herself onto the bed while Katie sat down in the arm chair. 

"Well so...." I took a deep breath. "I just parked at the pack house and started to get some things to my room." 

"Mh mhh. Continue." Jill said, grinning her face off.

"I heard vehicles approaching and figured it's just Alpha Damon's escort to the neighboring pack. I didn't think anything off it at first. I waited on the side until the cars were leaving. And that's when I looked into his eyes." 

"Wait!.. whose eyes??" Katie suddenly showed interest. "Did you find your mate?" 

"Yes... I did. I mean it's so surreal. I think I did." I chuckled. 

"Oh you bet you did! I saw how he devoured your lips." Jill commented. 

"OK so WHO is it? Spit it out!" Katie said sitting on the edge of the seat now. 

"It's Beta Tony." I whispered 

"IT'S WHO?.. WHAT?.. OMG JESSIE!" Katie shouted, jumping up from her seat. 

"Shhhhh!" I put my finger on my lips. "No one should know just yet. He is gone for a couple of weeks and I don't want to announce it without him." 

"Okay okay sorry!" Katie whispered as she sat back down. "Ooh emm gee." she dragged it out slowly. "Didn't we tell you he's into you?!" 

"Yeah but.. how would he have known. Do you think he could already feel it before?" I asked both my friends. 

"I don't know. I mean he is a few years older. 20 I believe. And like I told you, strong wolves could sense it early." Jill said. 

"I can't wait to see Cecilia's face once she finds out." Katie said laughing 

"Oh I had totally forgotten about her. I honestly don't care what she thinks. She'll probably think I'm lying anyway." I said and thought about the whole announcement thing. 

"Well, this calls for a celebration. And since you slept through half your birthday yesterday, we will celebrate that tonight too!" Jill said jumping off the bed. "Let's find you something to wear for tonight." 

"Yeah. How dare I run for miles and miles and be too tired to go party." I scoffed jokingly at her. 

She only gave me a look in return. I guess we're going out tonight. There is no use arguing with my best friend. 

Jill and Katie helped me unpack my boxes and organize my stuff into the closet. We ordered Pizza for lunch or as Katie called it 'Breakfast'. After everything was put away, they left me to get ready for tonight. Since Katie doesn't live at the pack house yet she has a much longer way home. I looked at the dress the girls had picked out for me and found matching shoes and a clutch for my belongings. I was about to jump in the shower when I heard my phone ring. An unknown number. Usually I would not pick up but something is telling me to do it. I swiped up the screen and put the phone to my ear. "Hello?" 

"Mate." is all he said.
