The sound of glass shattering erupted throughout the large building.
Everyone's attention was now fully on the two men before me.
Julien had thrown Daniel through of the glass China Cabinets, but he wasn't finished. His massive palm was crushing Daniel throat as his long fingers wrapped themselves tightly around the remainder of Daniel's throat. Cutting of his oxygen, rendering Daniel helpless and almost lifeless.
Daniel's face was drained of its normal coffee creme color. No longer could you see Daniel's honey gold eye, because his eyelids drooped over them.
Julien didn't show any signs of stoping, and I couldn't bare to watch him kill someone. Julien was not this monster all these snobby people might think of him, but I can not let him kill Daniel. It would only make him look worse.
I looked so unladylike like as I kicked off my heels and charged towards Julien.
I blind sided Julien as I snatched his hand from Daniel's throat and shoved him with my Alpha strength.
Julien stumbled back in surprise; surprise that his eyes had shown.
Never have I ever wanted to interfere with Julien and his business; well Kingly duty but this had to stop.
I gave Julien a quick glare; one that I didn't completely mean, before I turned my attention to a dizzy Daniel.
I kneeled on my shins, basically sitting with my legs tucked beneath me, in front of Daniel. I gently placed his head into lap and started rubbing his head soothingly.
Now I could faintly see Daniel's color returning in his face.
I let out a small sign of relief, before looking at Julien from the corner of my eye.
I saw how his guards surrounded him, in a protective manner but that isn't what made me do a double take. It was his face. Julien's face; that made me do a double take.
There clear as day was the emotion, jealousy.
Jealousy clouded his gorgeous vibrant eyes. He stared at Daniel's head in my lap, like it was a sin. Like Daniel touching me was a sin.
Julien looked as if he was going to shed a tear, but he and I both knew that was a sign of weakness.
Before I could look away, I heard the sound of running feet. Daniel's parents were rushing towards where Daniel and I were sitting. His mother plopped down on the floor next to us as she examined Daniel.
Daniel's eyes were now fully open and looked directly at me. I began to twitch uncomfortably under his stare, and soon looked away. Laying eyes on my parents who stood looking astonished on the side lines watching like everyone else.
Alpha Jackson spoke first.
"What the hell do you think you were doing?"
He faced Julien, with his chest out. Showing his dominance. Almost like he was picking a fight with Julien.
"You should teach your son some manners when speaking to a superior."
Julien stated with a stone cold glare.
"Who are you to tell me how to raise my son?"
Luna Penelope shot back.
Julien gave a small deep chuckle. Amused. Julien lifted his arm from his side and held them out wide.
"Why, I'm the vampire King. One of the most powerful vampires who has ever lived, and I will not tolerate a disrespectful mutt, who interrupted official business."
Alpha Jackson bit his tongue. Holding back what he wanted to say, because he too knew that interrupting official business with anyone, was going to result in a fight.
Julien looked at me in the eyes and smiled.
"It was a pleasure doing business with you Miss Wolfe, I will have my people set up a date with yours to finish what was started, but for now I bid you farewell."
Julien gave a small bow, and exited the building without another word said from him, or anyone else.
When Julien showed me respect I wanted to just melt. How could someone go from trying to kill someone to showing a woman some attention and respect had me bewildered. But Julien sure did know how to make a grand exit.
After Julien left, I could hear whispers from all the vampire women. They were talking about how I disrespected Julien by laying my filthy mutt hands on him. Or how I didn't deserve his kind respectful words.
I look the women in the eye as she called me a "filthy mutt", and growled.
Her face was covered, so she was a high ranking vampire. All I could see were her shimmering blue eyes and her perfect nose sticking out from under the scarf.
She peered at me with slits for eyes.
"What are you going to do bite me, mutt?"
"I wouldn't want to taste the rot of your old skin."
I said smoothly as my parents help escorted the Haringtons and I away from the gossiping crowd.
Guards surrounding us as we all were escorted out to the car.
Apparently my parents offered the Haringtons to ride with us, so that they could talk more about the incident and what should be done.
I sat next the window, watching the tress pass by when I felt Daniel's warm sparking touch on my hand.
I looked up into Daniel's eyes and could see gratitude.
"I want to thank you for what you did back there Arianna. I could of been killed if it wasn't for you."
"Your welcome Daniel."
I said with a soft smile.
The rest of the ride home was a silent one between Daniel and I, but really talkative between our parents who couldn't seem to shut up for just a few seconds.
We dropped the Haringtons off at their house and headed back to our own, and that's when my parents shot me a small glare.
"What is it?"
I asked.
"Do you know that you could of been killed out there tonight. King Julien is a ruthless killer."
"Oh, I didn't know that. I didn't really get that vibe from him."
I sarcastically replied.
My mother's brows formed a frown, and my father looked at me in disbelief. Maybe it was because I was making jokes about the whole situation when in reality I could have been killed, but Julien wouldn't hurt me. He would hurt someone for me, but never me.
And I knew that for sure.
