Days had sped by me, and yet I remained contained in my room alone. Door locked. Planted firmly on my large bed, legs crossed with my laptop nestled between my thighs. The only sounds coming from the constant clicks and taps of my keyboard.
My mind was definitely clouded, and the only thing visible through the clouds was the name 'Anna Jacobs', never have I ever heard that name before, but the woman in the woods was specific with her words. She said 'Remember the name Anna Jacobs, you remind me of her. Hopefully you can finish Anna's work.'
All of that information was great, but who is Anna Jacobs? Baby girls are being born everyday, and within those many of them could of been named Anna and not to mention the last name Jacobs is a common one.
So I'm looking for a needle in a hay stack at this point. If I could get a clue then maybe I wouldn't be in the dark with this research.
Another question is, what kind of work did Anna do? Was she a werewolf like me, or was she a human?
I need to know more, and there is only one way I can get more information. Ask questions. I need to make the guest list for my party, so maybe I can sneak some questions in while getting my mother to help me.
I closed shut my laptop, before giving a little stretch. I then hauled my butt off the bed.
I slipped on a pair off Julien's old sweat pants that he left over many months ago. They were the most comfortable pair of sleepwear pants I owned, and of course they were his.
Julien's.
Everyday that goes by without a call or even text hurts.
I desperately want to hear his voice, or see his mesmerizing eyes stare back at me. Something, anything! I want my Julien back.
I knew in my heart that crying wouldn't bring back Julien in my life, so wiping my dripping eyes I headed down stairs to my mother's home office.
I trotted down the stairs taking two at a time, rounded a few corners and was standing in the doorway of my mother's office.
"Hey, mother you wanna help me make the guest list for my birthday party?"
Leaning against the doorway, I watched as my mother removed her glasses from her face and give me a quick soft glance.
"Sure sweetie, just give me a minute."
She started organizing the papers on her desk; one by one putting the stacks away into her desk drawers.
"So, how do you wanna organize your list? By pack or maybe ranking?"
I gave a shrug. "Ether will do mother. Maybe by pack name, and then we can list everyone coming from that pack under."
My mother nodded her head in agreement, as she pulled a notebook pad out along with a pen.
"Alright first on the list, will be our pack of course."
"Sounds good mother. Might as well put are whole pack on the list." I giggled.
"But make sure they know this isn't mandatory. I don't want them to be forced to attended something they don't want to."
My mother gave me a worried look.
"Are you sure, the pack must have respect for their next in line alpha?"
"Mother I'm sure. Now next on the list is the Dark Blood pack."
"I don't recall them."
"Future Alpha James. Jame Aven. He was the guy I ran into at the party. The guy with the pretty smile."
I said with a gleam in my eye and a bite of my lip.
"What was that Ari?"
I gave her the 'what' look.
"That hopeful sparkle I seen in your eyes and not to add on but you just bit your lip. You'd hate to hear it but maybe this Jame's fellow is your mate."
I gave her one of my famous eye rolls, and a small chuckle.
"Hey, mom?"
"Yes?"
"Have you ever heard the name Anna Jacobs?"
My mother continued writing, not once stoping.
"Darling I know many Anna's, but no Jacobs in this pack."
"No, not just in this pack. I mean ever. Have you ever heard of a human or wolf from any pack named Anna Jacobs?"
Her writing ceased, as she lifted her head to look at me. Her brow was lifted with question.
"Why all these questions dear?"
"I over heard this women talk the other day about her, and she mentioned that she was somewhat famous because of something she had done."
"Well dear I don't know what to tell you, maybe you could ask your father when he gets home."
"Okay. Oh and mother, am I allowed to invite other species?"
I said with a rub of my arm.
"What did you have in mind Ari?"
"I wanted to invite the King of Vampires. You know as like an extended arm of friendship. Like an alliance type of deal."
She shook her head approvingly.
"That's a mighty thing for you to do Arianna."
"Thanks mom, and thanks again for helping me with the list. We can go over it again sometime this week. But I have to go, and finish up some research. I'll be back down for dinner."
I sped up the stairs in a hurry. A hurry to drown in my failure. I thought she would know something, being as she knows everyone, well that might be a slight exaggeration , but still it was a dead end.
I was sulking in self pity when, my phone begun to buzz.
**Buzz**
I had revived a message from an unknown number.
-Anna Jacobs was a curious person much like yourself, but curiosity killed Anna, will it kill you to?-
A cold chill ran up my spine giving me chilling goosebumps. Who ever this was knew me. They knew enough to know that I was looking into Anna Jacobs' death, but the problem was I told no one, other than my mother.
