XAVIER I woke up to Zain and Hayaan's Laughter. Yes, this was the first time I woke up and my boys were the first people I heard. Last night I was about to leave while they were sleeping but somehow zain woke up and started crying. I picked him up to sooth him back to sleep but he refused. "daddy, you're not leaving are you, you promised didn't you , you must keep your promises, mommy always says a man should never break his promises..." Jia Xia has already installed such good values in our children. I was more than thankful she was the mother of my children. " I know I promised but... " My mother in law walked into the room " Its okay Xavier, if they want you to stay, than stay... " I felt relieved knowing my mother in law was on my side. "Grandma, can we go with daddy if he can't stay please.. We won't bother him.." She smiled "if it's okay with daddy..." I didn't hesitate to accept. "Come let's go... Grab your bag.. I will take Hayaan..." I was about to turn around to pick up a sleeping Hayaan. "No need daddy I'm awake... Lets go..." There was so much excitement in that little voice. I took their bags and held their hands as we walked out of the hospital and than into my car and drove home. I was so happy walking up to the sound of laughter. My house hasn't been the same since Jia Xia left. I thought about our old house. If I knew about the boys before I burned it down, that house would have been the best place to raise them, it was much bigger than this small apartment. I was only missing one person. Jia Xia. She was the final piece of the puzzle. Than my life would be complete. I was about to make breakfast when the door bell rings. "Coming..." The boys were watching a cartoon but now they were attentively looking at the door I opened the door. Ling. "Xavier, I called but..." She looked past me and saw the boys. "Are they...?" "Yeah, those are my boys..." I said and smiled. I invited her in, but the boys wasn't looking to happy. Hayaan was the first to voice his anger. "Daddy, you know that the only lady who is allowed in your house is mommy, don't you?" I laughed. He was like me after all. "Yes. Hayaan I am fully aware of that, this is Ling we work together, she is just a friend after work don't worry... Okay.." I looked at Ling she seems upset at my words. This was a look I knew all to well. Bella used the exact same face. I would say we are friends but she didn't want that. And seeing Ling make the same face made me realize I had to make this clear to her. I started breakfast and in a few minutes I sat the boys down to eat. I asked ling to join me in my office. I closed the door. I was about to sit down when she suddenly kissed me. Her kiss was desperate. I knew what was happening. I pulled away and took a step back. "Ling.. Please.. My boys..." She was angry. "Xavier... Please... I don't want to be just friends anymore... Can't we..." I cut her off "I made Jia Xia, and my boys and my in laws a promise, I won't miss the chance to fix my relationship with her. .. She needs me and my children need a father... You need to understand that.. We won't be more than friends, and if you can't accept that, then I am sorry, your welcome to leave and never return... " She looked surprised I wasn't even hesitant about anything. " Okay than I guess I won't see you ever again, but you better not regret this Xavier, she still doesn't want you.. I... " " It doesn't matter if she wants me or not... I want her.. And thats that... I will live the rest of my life proving to her just how much she means to me if thats what it takes, but I won't loose them again... " She smiled than walked out. I didn't follow her. I heard the door close. The boys came into my study " Daddy, aunt Ling looked upset, are you guys fighting.. " Zain asked I smiled and ruffled his hair. Hayaan grabbed my hand. " It doesn't matter silly, she must like daddy but daddy likes mommy, and that is what matters, your so silly you know.." Hayaan was very clever for his age, maybe to clever. " okay, thats enough come we still need to gwt ready to go to see mommy..." They jumped in excitement. I watched them get dress, brush their teeth and put on their shoes all by themselves. Why were they so independent. They are only 6 yet they didn't ask for anything from me. They must have seen how hard Jia Xia was trying to raise them alone. They became like this trying to make her life easier. I once again realized just how much I missed. I had to move up and forward. Remember to Forget. We entered the hospital to find my inlaws at the reception. "uncle Aunt, what's wrong...?" They looked liked they were in shock. "Jia Xia is missing..." Came my mother in law voice. What the hell? Wasn't she in a coma.? How was this even possible...? I collapsed. I sat and felt the life drain out of me. It was chaos. My mother in law was crying the boys were crying... My father in law looked on as he didn't know who to comfort. The boys came and sat in my arms, crying loudly, I just held them. I couldn't do or say anything. This was worse than her being dead....
