Chapter 14

XAVIER

I woke up in the hospital.

My father was sitting at the window, watching the clouds pass by.

"Dad..."

My father turned to me and walked over.

"Your final awake."

He said and sat on my bed.

"What happened... Did you..."

He smiled than spoke.

"You remember you lost your mind last night... Yeah?"

I suddenly remembered my outburst.

I nodded.

"Well... Your lovely wife found you and well she rushed you here..."

What?

Jai Xia actually brought me to the hospital?

"Don't look so surprised, I told you she was an amazing woman..."

"Yeah... Where is she... Can I see her..?"

My father's smile dropped.

"She left after the doctor confirmed your safety."

I felt my heart hurt.

Maybe she just didn't want to explain to anyone if I had died.

My mind was all over the place when suddenly the door opened.

I looked up and saw my Mother in law.

What was she doing here.

Didn't she hate me?

My father got up.

"I will leave you two to talk."

She smiled than walked pass my bed to come sit next to me close to the window.

"So Xavier... How are you feeling, better...?"

She asked I didn't know how to answer.

But just smiled and nodded.

"Xavier... I want you to please take good care of My daughter, you can't understand what I went through to have her... So please... Promise me... I will give you only this chance... After that I might kill you if you ever hurt her..."

Her words was sharp and right to the point.

" I PROMISE... I won't even think about hurting her again... Never... You have my word... Thank you Mother... "

I said and watched her look out the window.

She asked me if I knew how our father became friends.

I didn't so I just shrugged and said no.

"Your father was the man I wanted to marry, my best friend... Someone I loved dearly..."

I was shocked.

"But because my father had already promised mr Ying my hand, he didn't know what a bad decision that would be..."

This story was sounding interesting.

She smiled and sighed than continued.

"Actually... Just like you my husband had loved someone other than me, and our marriage drove her crazy, she came after me everytime she found out I was pregnant and everytime she cause me to miscarriage..."

I saw the sadness in her eyes.

"But my husband had made the decision to love me and keep our family happy but he never removed her from our lives completely until I had lost our 3rd child, he finally had her incarcerated, for attemted murder... Because she abducted me and threw me off a moving bus.... That was his final straw... But the damage was done and at that time I was 32 and the previous miscarriages had left my body badly damaged... "

She took a deep breath than continued.

" Doctor said we won't every conceive but my husband refused to give up, and finally after 2 years of seeimg a therapist for tje mental damage I had received from all thise years of misfortune and numerous medical procedures I fell pregnant with Jai Xia... "

She was now crying.

" And the reason he hates lies is because ever time I spoke against that woman she would manipulate my husband's heart with her lies and cause a rift between us, he never believed me, and not until he actually saw her throw me from the bus, which was purely by coincidence he finally understood how much he had put me through and thats why he promised to never give his daughter to any man besides his best friends son... "

I understood that je didn't want to put his daughter through what he put his wife years earlier.

She walks out to the side than comes back in.

" Because your father loved me as I loved him we stayed friends and he and my husband became best friends soon after, they fought many time over our marriage and his treatment of me when it came to the other women but in the end they both wanted what was best for me, as for me... Well.. I fell in love with my husband soon after marriage and realized my love for your father was more like a siblings love relationship... "

She took a tissue and cleaned her eyes.

" Xavier you have to remember this promise, my husband might not forgive or forget so easily but he will come around because Jai Xia is his only means to live... She is her father's best friend his sweet angel and they are inseparable since birth.. So just gwt well and go home and take care of my daughter okay? "

She placed her hamd on my arm than left.

I finally understood why my father was so concerned about Jai Xia and why he chose her for me.

He had a special relationship with the woman who raised her.

So he knew just how special she was.

He knew she was the best person for me.

I finally thanked the heaven for my father.

The doctor came and said I was recovering well so I could go home tomorrow...

I was so excited.

My wife was at my home and waiting for me!!!

This made my heart bubble.

I couldn't sleep much but managed somehow to catch an hour before the sun rose.

Sam came and took me home.

As we entered the house was completely silent.

I thought something was off.

I remember that Bella wasn't herself when I left, and the story my mother in law told me earlier had given me a new sense of fear towards the other woman.

"Noona!!!..."

She came immediately.

"NOONA WHERE IS JAI XIA?"

She turned pale.

"Xavier she... I don't know... She wasn't home when I came in..."

I was so upset and scared.

What if Bella was back.

I instructed sam to find out Bella's whereabouts.. And when he said she had landed in Shanghai two days earlier my heart went numb.

I called my father.

He said that he had Jai Xia's number and would trace it.

After a while he called back and told me she was located at her old school.

I felt a sense of relief wash over me.

She was okay.

But why the hell didn't she tell anyone.

Was she trying to make me angry?

I took a shower and went down to have lunch but Jai Xia wasn't home still, my father sent me her number so I located her once again and she was at the school.

Maybe she was catching up on her work she lost over the past 4 months.

So I watched tv and read a book and when she still wasn't home by 5 pm I was so angry, at 8 pm she arrived and I was PISSED.

She greeted me with a simple "Hey" than asked for Noona...

Who does she think is the boss around here.

When I asked her where she was and she refused to answer I almost lost my cool but when I was finally so close to her I was thinking alot of other things and she wasn't even being imitated by my close presence to her, or was she...

She passed by me and when noona appeared she made her dinner hot and then again disappeared as if she saw right through me.

When I mentioned the contract she literally picked the whole argument apart.

But she was right and she was smart...

I couldn't argue.

I needed to calm down.

I walked into my room but it seems Jai Xia was busy while I was away...

I loved the pictures she put up and the wedding picture was my favorite.

But I had to call her to see what she would say.

I was starting to enjoy this new game.

She walked in and I pointed out the pictures.

She gave me the "I'm your wife" reply and that was enough for me to try my luck.

I knew she was inexperienced with intimacy between a man and woman so she would naturally run away if i pushed her far enough.

But to my surprise she actually challenged me.

I had to control every fiber in my body not to cross the line and have my way with her this instance.

I back up.

I couldn't stop her so I had to beg...

When she agreed and once again played the wife card I was definitely intrigued by what she had to say.

She made some valuable points but when she spoke about Bella I was so angry and annoyed.

But I made her a promise that woman won't ever enter this house again.

She suddenly laughed.

She proceeded to tell me Bella actually came here and threatened her.

I was so shocked I forgot how to act.

I was so scared.

When she explained that she had driven Bella away I felt like she was the most wonderful person to walk the earth she was honest the best thing in my life right now.

I felt so overwhelmed I actually wrapped my arms around her.

When she suddenly said she couldn't breath i came to my senses, but I was in the moment and this was the first time I wanted her so bad.

My eyes drifted from her eyes down to her lips.

She wasn't moving, would she let me finally claim her lips?

I lower my lips to hers slowly giving her a chance to pull away but she didn't.

When our lips met my whole body was ignited with passion.

I slowly started moving my lips on hers hoping she would respond, my hand moved freely down her body but I stopped at her lower back, she finally started responding to my kiss and her awkward moments made me want her so much more I played my tongue over her bottom lip begging her for access and when her beautiful lips slowly parted I entered my tongue into her mouth.

She tasted sweet, her mouth was even sweeter than her lips, I knew I had to show her what she did to me, before its to late.

I wrapped my arms around her tightly, deepening the kiss putting all my desires into that one kiss.

I was suddenly out of breath as my heart was racing and my whole body needed her.

I pulled away and took a deep breath.

"I PROMISE i won't make you regret staying by my side"

I don't know why I said that but when I wanted to kissing her again and finally claim her body she pulled out of my embrace.

I dont know if it was what i said or the fact that I was moving to fast.

So I apologize, but her words were like a knife that was aimed at my heart, every word tearing through my flesh.

"I didn't choose to stay, I had no other choice..."

I finally understood that it was my words that made her pull away, I shouldn't have said anything...

I had totally miss read the situation and hurt her against my better knowledge.

She walked out of my room before I could say anything.

I sat on my bed, my whole body was throbbing in the sensation of early, but I was alone, once again I managed to push Jai Xia even further away from me.

What will it take to fix our marriage?

How much longer will I have to wait until she accepts my love?

I couldn't think about anything, my body was aching and my mind was blank.

I took a shower and laid in bed.

I don't know how I will face her tomorrow...
