I watched as the hospital was soon flooded with police, and reporters.

The news of a patient mysteriously Vanishing from the leading hospital in Shanghai has spread like wild fire.

Jia Xia's family and friends were targeted by news agencies from all over the country, and I soon became the leading suspect in the disappearance of my ex wife.

At the police station

"Mr Lee, where were you between 7pm last night and 5am this morning?"

This was the 100 th time I was asked this question.

I was getting fed up with repeatedly telling the officer the same thing I had told 10 others before him.

"Officer... I told you I was at home with my children...

I never left the house until this morning when I came to the hospital with my boys to come and see my wife..."

The officer smiles.

"Mr Lee... If I'm not mistaken Miss Ying is your ex wife..."

He was getting on my nerves.

"Yes... My ex wife she is but..."

"So... Why are you still referring to Miss Ying as your wife... Are you obsessed with her, were you angry she hid your children from you, is that why had someone kidnap her.. Is that..."

I slam my hands on the desk.

"I am indeed obsessed with her, but that doesn't mean I would harm her... She is the mother of my children... Why would I be angry over something that I know she did because of misunderstanding between us... I love her.. Can you.."

"Well now we're getting something..."

The officer was taking everything I said out of context.

I sigh.

"You know what, if I am not under arrest... Than please you can ask anything else you want to know when my lawyer is present..."

He smiled and than got up and walked out.

I sat there dieing from anxiety.

Where is she?

Who would go after her?

Many things crossed my mind.

My lawyer arrived and soon I was let go.

" Mr Lee... Don't leave the country... Your still the only suspect..."

Said the officer.

I just nodded my head and walked out.

I instantly thought of Bella.

But she has nothing to hold a grudge over.

Maybe someone had something against the Ying family...

But as far as I know their family is very respected throughout the city and neighboring cities.

I looked out the window as my lawyer drove me to the office.

He dropped me off and left.

The moment I was about to enter the building I was once again swarmed by reporters.

"Mr Lee... We heard your the main suspect in the disappearances of your ex wife Miss Ying... Is this true...?"

I listen to the hords of reporters all asking the same question the police asked.

Did you do this?

Do you hate her?

Is it because of she was hiding the truth about your children for so long?

These people were driving me crazy.

I was about to speak when the he office guards came and walked me into the building.

I walked into my office.

My father was waiting for me.

I sat down on the sofa.

He saw me and walked over and sat next to me.

"Xavier, just forget about the police and those reporters.. We need to focus on finding Jia Xia... Her condition..."

I feel like screaming...

Crying, jumping, running...

My emotions were all over the place.

He placed his hand on my knee.

"Xavier, I already found the best detectives in the whole country, we are doing everything we can but first I need to tell you something... And I hope you won't be upset..."

I looked at my father.

"What?"

He took a deep breath.

"Xavier... The Ying family has a dark secret... And if we start digging it most definitely will come to light, And I know I should have told you about it earlier but..."

I was shocked...

The Ying family looked so clean...

Who would have thought.

"Jia Xia isn't their biological daughter... She... Well.. She is Mr Ying's daughter, but Mrs Ying isn't her mother... She..."

I was totally unprepared for that.

"Wait... Are you serious... Than.. Who's her mother.. Why... I mean... What?"

My father got up and walked to the window.

"Mrs Ying must have told you about her past...

But what she didn't tell you was what she doesn't know..."

He turned around and sat on my desk.

"When Mrs Ying was pregnant, Mr Ying told me his ex was also pregnant... He said he had supposedly had her incarcerated in a mental hospital after she tried to kill Mrs Ying... In those following 2 years he would still visit her but then suddenly he told me She was almost 4 months pregnant and Mrs Ying had only found out recently she was 4 weeks pregnant... He was afraid she might loose their child again so he kept it a secret..."

" He only told me."

My father covered his face with his hands.

" he made me promise to keep it a secret until Mrs Ying had given birth, than he would tell her the truth everything ...I didn't want to see Mrs Ying loosing another child again, so I agreed...

"But Mrs Ying gave birth to two still born baby boys 8 months later... During her 23 hour labor she lost a lot of blood and her heart gave in, the doctor managed to bring her back but just like Jia Xia she fell into a coma, she remained like that for nearly 8 months... "

My father became very emotional.

He was sobbing.

" Mr Ying's ex had given birth to Jia Xia 4 months earlier than Mrs Ying and when he went to see the child she gave her to him and than two days later she disappeared from the institution... He spent the next 8 months trying to find her but finally gave up... when Mrs Ying woke up he had given Her Jia Xia and told her she was hers... He never told her about her children who had died... Because they were around 4 months diffrence in pregnancy, Jia Xia didn't look like an 11 month old baby at that time so Mrs Ying never suspected anything... Mr Ying even paid off the doctors who had delivered her still born children..."

I sat and listened to the most sinister plot I have ever heard.

I suddenly realized how lucky I was my story with Bella turned out differently, not better but different.

" Do you think Mrs Ying knows...? "

My father gave me a sharp look.

" Of course not... Do you think she would raise that basterds crazy ex girlfriend's daughter like her own after she tried to kill her so many times, and not to mention her other 3 children she also lost because of him and his so called friend... I don't believe she knows... I... "

He seemed doubtful.

" god damit Xavier, I don't know... Love can make you do some incredibly stupid things... I don't have to tell you that... But I honestly hope she doesn't... "

He finally said.

He left my office.

I sat there and thought about the consequences that this investigation will have.

A secret 24 years old will come to light and I was sure there would be a massive hurricane to follow.

What should we do, do we wait and see if Jia Xia turns up with the help of the so called police working on her case...

Or should me and my father push forward with our own detectives...

My father seems upset thinking about the truth coming to light.

I know he still has feelings for Mrs Ying and this might mean the end of their friendships.

But can I honestly sit back and do nothing...

I don't think I can...

Finding Jia Xia is my only priority...

They will deal with their lies, it has nothing to do with me and my children's life's..

Zain and Hayaan needs their mother and I need my wife...

Nothing will stand in my way...

And I mean nothing...
