Kendall had never seen a mushroom before. She had taken a few blows in the crash, but she was otherwise okay, standing with her sword at her side and in a defensive posture. Her armor meant that she wasn’t playing around, and she had an angry expression that told him that it would probably be a very bad idea to crack a joke.
“Who are you?” Kendall asked.
“I am Lady Duxelle, Chief Advisor to the king,” the mushroom said, not taking her eyes off King Carrodias.
