Chapter 28 Finally, Geoffrey rose to the surface of the sand and gasped for air. The quinoa grains stuck to his sweaty body in clumps. His eyes adjusted to the dim darkness of a large cavern. It was gigantic, full of warrens and tunnels. Stalagmites rose from the ground and stalactites hung from the ceiling, giving the openings to some of the warrens an ominous, toothy look. The grayish brown rocks seemed to swell and impose on the area, tense and uninviting.
