Chapter 37 Kendall landed the plane on the sand, and he and Geoffrey climbed out. They blinked at the aftermath of the battle. The party greeted them. Brocc waved. “Did you do it?” “The caves are gone,” Geoffrey said, patting Kendall on the back. “Kendall made sure of that.” He surveyed the area. “And Provo?” Brocc shook his head. “Don’t tell me,” Geoffrey started, “he can’t possibly have the Cube.” “He’s got it, all right,” Frank said. “Damn,” Geoffrey said. “His plans were stupid. But it appears that provolone had a stroke of extreme good luck.” “Where did he go?” Brocc asked. Geoffrey shrugged. “But now that the Cube is gone, this desert will begin to slowly die.” Bulgur sat nearby. “It is true.” “Why’d you give up the Cube?” Kendall asked. “He was going to kill all of us,”
