Chapter 21 Brocc and Celerity pulled their rags tighter as the wind blew sand directly in their faces. They had been walking for thirty minutes, and the crash site seemed impossibly far behind them. A trail of deep footsteps stretched all the way back. Brocc rubbed sand away from his face with his forearm, spit the sand out of his mouth and strained to look over the horizon. His eyes itched and watered, and it was hard to focus. Just dunes upon dunes upon dunes. He and Celerity had walked in silence, and it had given him time to think. They didn’t need to speak.
