Chapter 4 Lady Duxelle drew her sword and clashed with a young carrot, knocking her into a cabbage patch. “That hurt!” “Get used to pain,” Lady Duxelle said, readying her sword. Princess Astrid Carrodias was a short, orangish-yellow carrot with long, leafy hair that hung down to her shoulders. She held her sword in her hand like a child holding a crayon, and her golden metal armor was more like a cage than a protective suit. She was sixteen years old, with bright green eyes and a winsome smile just like her father’s. The princess struggled on the ground, her armor clacking against itself as she tried to stand.
