CHAPTER THREE: TEASED AND TAUNTED.

312 Words
Sophia walked into school the next day, feeling a sense of excitement and nervousness. She couldn't stop thinking about the mysterious boy she'd met outside the coffee shop. As she walked down the hallway, Sophia noticed a group of students staring at her. She felt a sense of unease and wondered what was going on. Suddenly, one of her classmates, Rachel, stepped forward, a smirk on her face. "Hey, Sophia, I heard you met the new guy yesterday," Rachel said, her voice dripping with sarcasm. Sophia felt her face heat up with embarrassment. "What's it to you?" she asked, trying to sound confident. Rachel snickered. "Oh, I just think it's funny that you're trying to snag the richest guy in school. You're so far out of his league." Sophia felt a sting from Rachel's words. She knew she wasn't as wealthy or popular as some of her classmates, but she'd never let that define her. As the teasing continued, Sophia felt her eyes welling up with tears. She knew she had to get out of there before she broke down. Just as she was about to make a quick escape, Sophia felt a hand on her shoulder. She turned to see the mysterious boy standing behind her, a look of concern on his face. "Hey, are you okay?" he asked, his voice low and soothing. Sophia nodded, feeling a sense of gratitude towards him. "Yeah, I'm fine." The boy smiled and turned to Rachel. "I think you've made your point. Why don't you leave Sophia alone now?" Rachel scowled, but backed off, muttering under her breath. As the crowd dispersed, Sophia turned to the boy. "Thanks for sticking up for me," she said, feeling a sense of wonder. The boy smiled. "No problem. I'm Alexander, by the way." Sophia's heart skipped a beat. "I'm Sophia," she replied, feeling a sense of excitement.
