CHAPTER FOUR: THE APOLOGY

406 Words
Sophia couldn't believe what had just happened. Alexander, the mysterious boy who had stuck up for her, was now walking beside her, chatting with her like they were old friends. As they walked, Sophia learned more about Alexander's background. He was the son of a wealthy businessman, and his family had just moved to the area. Despite their different backgrounds, Sophia felt a connection with Alexander. She was drawn to his kindness, his sense of justice, and his warm smile. But as they approached the school entrance, Sophia's thoughts turned to the incident with Rachel. She felt a pang of embarrassment and hurt. Alexander noticed her expression and turned to her. "Hey, Sophia, I'm really sorry about what happened earlier," he said, his eyes sincere. "I shouldn't have let Rachel get to you like that." Sophia smiled, feeling a sense of gratitude. "It's not your fault," she said. "You stuck up for me, and that means a lot." Alexander smiled back, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "I'd do it again in a heartbeat," he said. As they stood there, locked in a warm gaze, Sophia felt her heart skip a beat. She couldn't believe the connection she felt with this boy, this stranger who had suddenly become her hero. As they stood there, the bell rang, signaling the start of class. Sophia and Alexander reluctantly parted ways, promising to meet up again at lunch. Throughout the morning, Sophia couldn't concentrate on her classes. Her mind kept wandering back to Alexander, wondering what he was like, what he liked, and what he wanted. At lunchtime, Sophia rushed to the cafeteria, hoping to catch Alexander before he sat down with his friends. She spotted him sitting alone at a table, reading a book. Sophia's heart skipped a beat as she approached him. "Hey," she said, trying to sound casual. Alexander looked up, smiling. "Hey, Sophia. I was hoping you'd join me." They spent the lunch hour talking, laughing, and getting to know each other. Sophia felt like she'd known Alexander her whole life. As they finished up their lunch, Alexander walked Sophia to her next class. "I had a great time talking to you," he said, his eyes sparkling. Sophia smiled, feeling a flutter in her chest. "I had a great time too." Alexander leaned in, his voice low. "Would you like to grab coffee with me after school?" Sophia's heart skipped a beat. "I'd love to."
