The boss man

Tia was looking at the crime scene photos along with Keya and Preeti

"The crime scene is not messy, it's arranged properly. Owen told me everything was messed up when he got there. The police came after Owen ran away, so the person who did this came back to clean up the messed house?"

"Tia, that also means that, the person knows where everything was supposed to be so it may be someone that knows Monica personally." Preeti said

"It could be the Mayor's son." Keya said

"What makes you say that?" Tia asked

"Well, its simple, he finds out she is pregnant with his baby. Forces her to abort the baby, she says no, they fight and he kills her." Keya said

"That's a possibility. Then why did she call Owen? Why and who clean the house after Owen ran? And it also doesnt support Owen's theory of she might know something" Tia questioned

"Well he disappeared after her death. Why would he disappear if he is not guilty?" Preeti asked

"Lets see about what Owen told us. She knew something from the Mayor's office. She is scared some people are after her for that. Police found the body about 5 clock. That means if Owen ran out of the house around 3. What did they do for 2 hours? Monica's boss reported the crime, what was he doing there? He is the one who told the police that Owen came to see Monica in the afternoon. We need to meet this boss man" Tia said

"I can meet him. He knows me as Owen's wife, I can ask him what happened that day"

"Ok. Where are you going to meet him?"

"The church" Keya said

"Why?" Tia asked

"Owen said that he is a catholic. He has the fear of God and everything. He wont lie in the church."

"Ok. Church it is" Preeti said.

"Well, If thats set we need to try and collect the phone records of both Monica and Jason (Mayor's son). We also need to talk to the police about the items found in Monica's house" Tia said

"What are you thinking?" Preeti asked

"I will show you once I get it" Tia said confidently.

The whole week went by in paper works and retrieving information about Jason and Monica.

Her social media was full of their photos, check ins, nothing seemed wrong there. They were not secretly dating. It was out in the open. The police reports said that Owen had an affair with Monica and when Monica came to know Owen was married, she threatened him to expose their affair to Keya so Owen panicked and killed her.

Tia filed a motion to reopen the case. It was trial day morning.

The judge appreared and the proceedings started.

The prosecutor started "The murder weapon has the finger print of the accused. The house has his fingerprints. He was the last person she called from her phone. When the police tried to catch him he ran. Why would he run if he is innocent? I dont think there is any reason to reopen the case your honour."

"The defence can proceed" the judge said.

"Your honor. This whole case is fabricated entirely to make it seem like my client is guilty. There are new evidences that can prove that there has been malpractices conducted by many people to make my client look like a murderer."

"What are the new evidences?" The judge asked

"Miss. Monica was pregnant your honor and here are the reports that prove this, and there is no mention of such fact in the coroners autopsy report." Tia said

"I object your honor. This is a sorry attempt to reopen the case. The gynecologist is the wife of Mr. Owen. That is fabricated evidence" Parker said and looked narrowly at Tia.

"Your honor, if you see the date of the report, it is two days before Owen joined the Mayor's office. Mrs.Heiser didnt even know Monica back then so there is no need for her to lie about it."

"Why did the Gynecologist didnt say this during the trial?" The judge asked.

"Fear your honor. We think some big people are involved in this case and they changed the autopsy report so she was scared to speak up."

"The baby can be Owen's. They might have been secretly dating before he joined the office." Parker continued.

"This is the social media page of the victim your honor and she almost posted everything in social media. There are two people consistent in all the photos. The victim and Mr. Jason Harper and please dont forget the relationship status of the victim "IN LOVE WITH JASON". This was also not mentioned in the investigation. This is the phone records of the victim and Mr.Harper. They talked everyday and messaged all those sweet messages to each other. They were clearly in love. I think there are a lot of cover ups in this case and that is the reason we have to re open this case."

The motion was successful and the case was reopened for a clear investigation. A new case officer was appointed for investigating.

Sunday Tia's POV

It was the day when Keya decided to meet Owen's boss. We all got ready and went to the church. It was the same church me and mom used to go. God I miss her. Its also the church where he used to come. The memory of him makes me want to cry but no I aint wasting anymore tears for him.

The prayers finished and we all were walking towards Owen's boss. He was a little old. Maybe in his fifties, short little man. Keya approached him and he suddenly flashed a smile on her.

"Mrs. Heiser, how are you?" He asked warmly

"You can call me Keya, Mr.Price."

Keya started talking to him when someone tapped on my shoulder. I turned over to see who was it and there she was, standing all nice and kind. It was Trey's Grandma.

"Hi, Mrs.Brent. How are you?" I asked trying to hide my shocked face.

"I thought its you so I just came to confirm and it is you. Oh my God Tia, how are you?" She asked flashing a smile.

"I am good Mrs. Brent."

She suddenly came over abd hugged me.

"I missed you my dear. You can call me Grandma you know right. Its so good to see you after all these years. When did you come back? Why didnt you come home?" She asked.

How can I tell her I never want to set foot in that home ever again. I forced a smile.

"I am here for work Grandma. I wont be staying long."

"You should definitely come over. Its been so lonely after you all left the house. You didnt even say Goodbye. I want to talk to you" she said pleading

"Sure Grandma. I would come someday." I said not wanting to break her heart.

"You all say that but nobody has the time to meet this old couple now. Trey never come too. False promises." She had tears in her eyes.

"No Grandma. I will come for sure. I never break promises. Right now I am a little busy but I will surely come before I go back"

That seemed to cheer her up a little.

"You dont forget your promise young lady."

She told and sat in her car.
