Winter dance

Tia went to school on Monday and as soon as she entered there was a group of football guys dancing in front of her and as soon as they finished Lincoln came in front of them and he had a bouquet of lillies. He got down on one knee and asked
"Tia Rose Blake , will you go to the dance with me?"
Everybody was shocked to see this and now all eyes were on Tia. She didnt know what to say. She already said Yes to Trey but letting Lincoln down in front of the whole school is not easy. She started looking at everybody and they were all signalling to tell her YES.
"Linc, thats very sweet of you. I never imagined such a big proposal for dance. I would love to go with you but"
Yayyyy the crowd shouted.
"I already said I'd go with Trey. He asked me on Saturday. I am so sorry Linc but I promise you one dance. I will definitely have one dance with you. You can choose which song you want and I will dance with you. Thank you so much for all this. I truly feel at top of the world."
Everybody's faces went all awkward and they all went different ways. She was not expecting this but she put her head down and went away. During lunch break Keya and Melissa were sitting with Tia and Trey was still in the queue for food.
"Wow T, Lincoln really outdid himself. It was so nice of him to do that."
Tia blushed.
"You should have told Yes to him you know" Melissa said
"I already said I'd go with Trey"
"You guys are together for like what seems like forever. You should have some fun you know. Try differnet flavours."
"Eww K. I am not trying anything. Even with Trey we have maintained our distances. I said Yes to be his girlfriend like 3 years ago. Just because we are together doesnt mean we do everything."
"We know that but thats what we are saying. Trey is a gentleman. He wont try anything till you are totally ready. You dont know what it is like to have a different boyfriend. If it was someone else, he would have convinved you to... you know everything." K said
"Wow, is that what you think of me?"
"What?" K said
"Even if its somebody else, I would want to wait and if he cannot wait then he should be with someone else who wants to do things with him"
"Jeez T, relax. You agreed if Trey didnt ask you during weekend you would go with Linc."
"Yes, but Trey asked and I said yes. End of story. Can we drop it now?" Tia said and started gulping down her food.
Trey heard everything from another table. He felt really bad. Trey started thinking.
"So If I didnt ask her on Saturday, she wasnt gonna go with me at all. Clearly Lincoln planned to ask on Monday so If I hadnt asked on Saturday, she would have went with Linc." Trey said to Owen.
"Look Man, I know how it sounds but trust me its good that you asked"
"Why?"
"You dont know because you are not on the football team. Linc is not some decent, good guy. He is also like Brandon and the other 3. Just because Mr.Chaffman is the teacher here, he does everything in secret. He does drugs, drinks, girls everything and the fact that he asked Tia in front of the whole school just means bad news. Its now, when you need to be with her more than ever."
"But she doesnt want me. She just agreed because I asked her first."
"Well, may be thats God way of saving her from Linc."
"Oh come on. Since when do you atheist Owen thank God for anything that happens."
"Well, I may be an atheist but Tia is not."
"Please dont let anything they said get into your head."
"I will be with you and we all can keep an eye on her."
"You'd do that for me?"
"Yup, thats what friends are for man."
"Thanks man" They saw at Joseph
"Well anything Jesus does is for good so I am in too" he said.
"How come I get an atheist and an hard core Catholic for friends?"
"That may be God's doing too as per Mr. Catholic here." Owen said and smiled
Tia's home in evening. Tia was sitting in front of TV, not deciding on a channel and changing it randomly. Shelly came near her and combed through her hair with her fingers.
"Whats on your mind dear?" Shelly coughed
"Nothing"
"Come on now, you know you can tell me anything right?" She coughed again
"Why are you so early today?"
"What, now I cant come home early?"
"No, I am glad you are home."
"What happened T?"
"Lincoln, a guy from my class asked me to the dance today"
"Wow, two boys asked you huh? I am starting to think you are one of the popular girls."
Tia smiled
"Are you upset because you wanted to go with him and already said Yes to Trey?"
"No, Yes, Maybe I dont know."
"Wow, that is some answer"
"Mom, I really like Trey. I said Yes, to be his girlfriend like 3 years ago. I am happy that I have him."
"Then whats wrong dear?"
"K said that if it was someone else he would have forced me to.... you know to do things. And I would have agreed."
"Do you think its the truth?"
"No, even if its someone else I would have wanted to wait till, I am something."
"Then what is bothering you?"
"Well, we decided that if Trey didnt ask this weekend, they would set me up with Lincoln and he asked me today."
"Do you want to go with him to the dance?"
"I dont know Mom."
"Ok Tia, close your eyes"
"Huh?"
"Just do as I say" she coughed
"Have some cough syrup"
"I will, now close your eyes"
Tia closed her eyes.
"Imagine whatever I say"
"Ok"
"You are in a kitchen, making breakfast, you are yelling at somebody and they both dont seem to care. They are jumping on the couch. Two little kids. Someone comes and picks up the kids and put them on the chairs. That person comes near you and kisses you on your cheek and helps you in making the breakfast. You sigh a breath of relief and then look him in the eyes to thank him. Ask yourself Tia, who is that person with whom you see your future? If its not Trey, you can always tell him and he will understand. I dont know about Lincoln but if he is a good guy he will understand too."
"Well may be next time cough less during the imaginary scenes. But Yes, I got my answer. Thanks mom."
"Well I cant wait to see who you choose to be your date for the dance. Remember nobody is worth your tears. Nobody is worth your future if they cant be a part of it."
Lincoln and the guys
"Brandon, you told me to ask her and she refused. It was like she b***h slapped me. I was humiliated in front of the whole school. "
"Relax, you can have your revenge when we enjoy her. Think about the things you want to do to her."
"No Brandon, thats not enough for her."
"What more do you want?"
"Record it"
"What?" Brandon was shocked
"Record it and publish it to everyone"
"Are you crazy? We would get caught too"
"Ok. We record her body after we do everything and then release it to the school"
"Let me see what I can do"
"Why are you obsessed with her Brandon? Tell me what makes you think that weirdo Trey hadnt already done things to her? How are you sure she is virgin?"
"Oh miss goody shoes go to church and do soup kitchens for Christmas. I am sure she wants to save herself for marriage and I dont think that weirdo even kissed her. I will show her what intimacy actually means. She will f*****g see hell and heaven when I am inside her."
"So whats the plan now? She is not my date."
"Spike her drink. Offer her coke or something and make sure she drinks it. She offered you one dance right. Make it worth."
Everybody waited for the dance for their own reasons.
