Frank

Thomas and Sue were in the couch talking about the day.

"Did you feel that Tia was distant?" Sue asked slowly

"Distant? I dont know, was she?"

"Oh Thomas, you dont pay attention to anything, do you?"

"What? I do pay attention. Her cupcakes was a lot like yours. She didnt forget your recipes."

"All you think about is food. Oh God, you just want to think about food all day. I am starting to not like you Thomas."

"I am sorry but I cant read people's feelings. Even when she was here, she used to be always followed by Trey, so I never really paid much attention to her."

"Now that you mention I really think Trey liked her"

"Liked her? He was a puppy following her everywhere. Oh the days of youth, all childish and stupid"

"I remember him liking her but I dont know if she liked him too"

"Hmm. If she didnt she would have told him to stop and he would have atopped but she didnt so I think the feelings were mutual."

"Do you think that is the reason for Trey being single all these years?"

"I dont know, maybe. He is a Brent so maybe he is just paying attention to his career." Thomas said

"Work is ok but he has to settle down some day. Maybe we should talk to him"

"You know we cant do that. Its his life, we cant force him to be in a relationship or something."

"What if we tell him Tia is back? He will come running"

"Damn woman. Do you still think he is in his teenage years. He is a successful lawyer and we dont know what happened between them. Maybe thats why she disappeared all of a sudden. She didnt even ask about Trey. May be they broke up or something" Thomas said.

They heard a knock on the door.

"Its me Frank. Can I come in for a bit?"

They both looked at each other and said yes.

Frank was not as well built and strong as he was. He got old and his wrinkles were a sign of his age. He was tall but now had a little hunch and he seemed tired. His grey hairs were visible and his hand were shaking a bit now. Old age has caught up to him.

"I need to talk about Tia and Trey"

"We were just discussing about that. Do you know something?"

"I know everything. I am the only one who knows everything." Frank said with a single drop of tear falling down his face.

"You are scaring us Frank"

"I am scared too. Scared that its too late to do anything. So I came to tell the truth to both of you. I understand if you want to fire me after I tell you everything. But please promise me you will do good by Tia and Trey. I just want them to be happy like they were used to be."

"Frank we also want everybody to be happy. Now spill"

Frank started speaking

"I really loved Trey like my own boy. He never had any complaints about his parents, or anything. Focused on studies, no bad habits, no attitude but something was always missing in him. Its was as if he was a toy just switched on and he runs as per the instructions. Then one day he was almost 13 or something he went up to talk to a girl. I thought he is finally opening up to people. She became his friend. He made more friends but Tia was always special to him. I just thought it was teen crush or something. Their friendship was not very liked by Theodore, and Trey couldnt just accept it. That really proved how much she meant for him. He started laughing, joking, and hanging out with friends. They grew up together, from friends to girlfriend and boyfriend. It was their final year in high school, the six were unseparable. It was just one hour or so when they came out all messed up. I didnt know what happened but Trey told me to drive to Tia's. I did as he told me. The next day Trey went to Tia's home in the morning. Something happened there, it was Christmas morning and Trey came out all worried. He asked me the most shocking question ever. He asked me to be his best man. I didnt know what to say. I asked him he told me to go drive to the church.

Trey told me "Tia's mother is not well. We need to get to the church and bring the pastor. Her last wish is to see Tia getting married. I am going to do it Frank. I am going to marry her."

"But what about your parents and grandparents? Dont you want them to be in your wedding? Dont you think they deserve to know?"

"We dont have time Frank and its just to fulfill Tia's mothers last wish. Its not like we are going to start living together and start a family. We will get married for real in future. You dont want to reject a dying person's wish."

"Is Tia ready for the marraige?"

"She is also doing it for her mom."

"Dont you think it too early for getting married?"

"I turned 18 this fall. Thats enough right?"

"Trey, you are not thinking straight"

"Frank, relax. Even if you ask me after 50 years I will still be in love with her. She is the one for my lifetime. I will never change Frank."

I was there Mr.Brent. When they got married. I was there when the pastor announced them husband and wife. You should have heard their vows. I have never seen two people perfect for each other.

Thomas and Sue were beyond angry

"Are you kidding me Frank? They were kids but you were supposed to act like an adult. Having crush, falling in love and everything was one but getting married? You didnt think to tell us all these years? How dare you deceive us all these years?"

"I am sorry. I only thought that as dying wish of Shelly. I never thought, they would go separate ways. After Tia left, Trey was never the same. Today when I saw Tia, I can see the same emptiness in her eyes. They wont be whole without each other. Please try and get them together. I love that boy and wish nothing less than the best life that he deserves for himself. Good bye"

Thats when Trey called both Grandma and Frank.

Clearing her throat Sue said

"I didnt forgive you but you are the one who caused all this so now you are going to help us."

"Whatever you say Mrs.Brent." Frank said.

All three of them deviced a plan.
