Chapter Seven: The Symbol

253 Words
SARAH'S POV I couldn't shake off the feeling that the symbol on the sketch meant something important. I'd seen it before, but where? I decided to ask my father, the Beta, if he recognized it. The next day, I arrived at Elijah's mansion, my mind still preoccupied with the symbol. My father was already there, talking to Elijah in hushed tones. "Sarah, glad you're here," Elijah said, his piercing yellow eyes gleaming. "I think it's time we discussed Emilia." I nodded, trying to focus. But my mind kept wandering back to the symbol. "Father, can I ask you something?" I said, interrupting Elijah. My father raised an eyebrow. "What is it, Sarah?" "That symbol on the sketch...do you recognize it?" Elijah's eyes narrowed. "What sketch?" I hesitated, unsure if I should reveal the mysterious drawing. But something about Elijah's intensity made me trust him. I mean he is scary and all, but I decided to show it "I found a sketch of Emilia on her social media handle, where she mormally posts her drawings and all," I explained. "With a symbol that looks like a crescent moon with an arrow pointing up." My father's expression changed from curiosity to alarm. "Where did you see that symbol before?" he asked, his voice low. I thought back, trying to remember. And then it hit me - the ancient werewolf texts I'd studied with my father. "It's from the Lunar Prophecy," I exclaimed. "The symbol of the Chosen One." Elijah's eyes gleamed with interest. "Go on."
