KARENA FELT THE weight of the creature pulling her neck downward as it swung back and forth, its claws scrambling for a grip around her scales. As she felt herself free falling, she feared she spoke too soon when she told Dimitri that no one had ever beaten one of the Agamidae. Tonight might just be the night someone broke that record.
With a deep breath in through her dragon’s nostrils, she yanked her head upward, pulling herself and the creature higher into the night sky. There was no way she would permit this…thing…to defeat her.
