When we entered his territory, it was like a whole village has gathered to greet us. It was a little bit creepy as I saw many people with their families and children standing in a circle, all stares on us and of course I didn't miss the curios and questioning gazes as they sized me up.

Some girls even gave me glares as we passed them and I invisibly flinched, getting closer to Noah's body for some protection.

They all greeted him like he was their God. Bowing their heads and muttering 'Alpha, welcome home' under their breath and respectfully not meeting his dark gaze.

"Noah, who are they?" I couldn't help but ask whispering to him as he squeezed my hand in reassurance.

He nodded at them, " My pack. I'm their rightful leader since my parents were murdered by my enemies half a year ago. They are here for my protection and safety so we all live here."

I gasped hearing that, my eyes going to his, "What?"

My heart ached for him, pain and something else as I couldn't believe his words for some moments. His parents were murdered? That is why he travels alone and usually is angry about everything? If I wouldn't know that, I wouldn't even think that someone horrible has happened to him or his family, he looked strong and not grieving like everyone should. He still continued to lead his people. What a honorable man.

Noah didn't answer, just leading me to the biggest house, we passed all the people as we left them behind us. I looked over my shoulder at them and saw them watching us.

"Don't worry, they will not hurt you as long as I'm besides you. You okay?" Noah stopped in front of a house and turned me towards him, his fingers on my chin.

"Well, you always walk away like you don't care about them?" I blurted out, almost immediately regretting the question as his eyes narrowed on me.

"What makes you think I don't care about my people?" His tone was defensive and a little bit annoyed.

I bowed my head in regret as I thought about my next words carefully, " I mean...we just passed them and they didn't even dared to look at you, it was like they are scared of you and...you did not acknowledged them either, " my words just couldn't stop as I voiced my thoughts.

There was silence for a moment and when I looked up, Noah looked even more scary because his eyes were all black now. Oh no.

"I-I'm sorry, I didn't mean to-....." His laugh made me stop and I stared at him dumbfounded as he started to chuckle deeply and came even closer to me until our breaths were mingling together.

My heart beating faster, I let him run his nose against my jaw as he started whispering.

"Kitten, you have no idea what are you doing. You amuse me with your actions and words. Who would have thought that my mate would have the bravery to talk to her Alpha like that....mmmm, what we will do about it, huh?"

I felt myself trembling in fear but some desire was beneath that feeling.

"I'm really sorry..."

"Shhh, don't apologize, little one. Never fear me. Now come, I need to show you your new home." Opening the door to let me in, he continued to explain," My people know their place, they look at me as their great savior because that is what I am now. They are family but not that close so we have only loyalty and respect to each other. Maybe you didn't saw me greeting them but I did, using mindlink I told them that I'm back home and I have a special guest with me which is you. Are you satisfied with that answer?"

His words surprised me as we both went in the house and I saw how beautiful it is, so cozy and warm. It was big, bigger than most pack houses but it was beautiful as we stopped in the foyer.

Reminding me that Noah is still waiting for me to respond I catch him already looking at me and with a blush and understanding on my part I nod my head.

"Yeah, no need to explain, I was just curious but why they all just stood there, even before we came through the gate?" I couldn't help but ask because it was a little weird.

He smiles at that," The people here are always like that, they wait for me to come home so it is normal behavior for werewolves to be like that. They need to know if I'm safe so they are not left behind without a leader. Of course there is my Beta, second in command who obviously didn't listen to my orders and will come in any second-"

The door banging open cut his sentence off as I jumped from the sound and immediately turned around to see a guy, a couple of years younger than him with a muscular body of his own and blonde curls all over the place come in through the door, his glare on his face clear as a day.

He looks cute though, even that frown giving me dangerous vibes. The guy was tall but not taller than Noah as he came closer to us.

"You really are an asshole, Noah. You come home and don't even come to the office to tell me about your werebouts where have you been and how are you. You were shot for f**k sakes days ago and now you order me to not see you because you found your mate and think that is more important than telling your pack if you are alive?" He sounds pissed but when he looks over at me, his gaze softens a bit, " no offense sweetheart, I just need to have a talk with him."

With my mouth open in shock, I couldn't believe this younger person would talk to Noah like that. I saw how people were scared of him but this guy didn't have any fear in him as he looked back at Noah with a glare and waited for him to say something. Noah glared back and growled when he stepped in front of me, his muscular back right there before my eyes as he towered over me.

"Watch it, Mason. What about privacy you didn't understand when I told you in the mindlink that I will see you tomorrow? The people already saw me, they know I'm alive and well, do not forget I'm your Alpha so talk to me in that tone again, I will see your punishment for the whole pack to see," it was a dangerous threat, his voice getting colder and lower. His shoulders were hunched over like he will shift any second so not even thinking about it, I lightly touched his back with my hands to calm him down.

He felt shivers over his spine as my fingers carresed his back and looking back down at me, his glare was gone and there was only concerned and lovely expression on his face. Wow, talking about bipolar.

"What is it, kitten?"

I smiled with a blush on my face hearing him saying that and seeing his attention being completely on me now, forgetting that his Beta is standing five feet away from us and watching our exchange with a shocking and wondering filled gaze.

"Please don't threaten your family like that, it is rude," scrunching my nose, I felt brave somehow and Noah only chuckles.

Leaning down so we are eye to eye, he brushes his lips on my forehead before whispering, " Do not try to distract me now with that adorable pouting face, I won't be fooled like that."

"Is it working though?" Was my innocent response. Do I really have enough effect on him considering he was just angry seconds ago and now he looks over at me with possessive stare?

His hand sneaks around to the back of my head, his long fingers threading through my wild hair and I close my eyes from the contact as he brings me closer to him, his lips inches from mine. If I moved closer, we would kiss and that will be my first ever kiss.

I don't even know what is happening but I love it.

"You will be the death of me, I just know it, " it sounds like he is talking to himself as he mutters that under his breath but our moment is ruined as some clears his throat in a awkward way.

"Um...guys, I'm still here. If I would have known I will watch you two getting freaky in front of me, I would have joined too but-!"

One moment Noah is holding me and the second, I found him with his hand around Mason's neck, both at the nearest wall as they hit it with their body force. Noah growls at him, obviously angry about his comment.

"Say that again and I will cut your own d**k and I don't care that you're my Beta!"

My hands cover my mouth in surprise, not even believing his words. So much fury and hatred in those words, I started to see how dangerous Noah really is because Mason was being choked by him and he didn't even fought back. I wanted to scream, say something to him, not to kill his friend but I just stood there frozen, I couldn't even move.

"I-I wa-s was just j-joking. Calm d-down," Mason managed to say between gasps of air and I saw him bare his neck to Noah, a weird move but that did something because Noah released him so he can finally breathe. Stepping back from him, Mason stayed upright even it was hard to breathe for a second but he was fine after some moments and looked ashamed afterwards, " I'm sorry I said that, I was just being funny and tried to lighten the awkward atmosphere. I would never get between you two, you know me better than that."

Noah was trembling, his hands formed into fists as he growled," You knew the consequences to that mistake, I will not tolerate my Beta disrespecting me by joking around when there is my mate concerned. Next time I will not be so generous, understand?"

Mason nodded and bowed his head in respect.

"Now go, I will see you tomorrow," my wolf ordered him, this time gentler and with the last look at me, Mason bowed his head and exited the house, closing the door behind him until we were left alone once again.

Noah exhaled a long breath and run his fingers though his dark hair, messing them up even more as he turned towards me, giving me an apologetic stare," I'm sorry you had to see that, I lost my temper."

"No s**t," I blurted out with sarcasm and immediately regret that and covered my mouth again," sorry, I didn't mean to say that, I just...wow...you're always this intense and angry threatening your people like that? You will do the same to me too if I talk back or something?"

His amused expression calmed me down a bit as I saw his mouth quick in a small teasing smirk.

"Princess, with you there will be another ways how to punish you. If you are curious, I can show you..." letting the words hang in the air, my breath was getting heavier with every word as he got closer and closer to me. Drawing me back to his body so our bodies are completely against each other, he leaned down to my ear and I almost moaned when his lips brushed against my ear giving me sparks.

"I assure you, the punishment will not be only enjoyable but pleasurable for you too. So what do you say, love? Are you brave enough?" His whispers giving me shivers and I shouldn't be this turned on by that but I couldn't help but getting wet on the spot as I squirmed, my thighs closing shut to end this torture but it was not helping at all because Noah knew my reaction to him because I felt him smirk against my skin.
