Lana opened her eyes wide. She was now wide awake.
"Good" Lucas smiled briefly.
"Thank you" she said softly. She could remember vividly how she collapsed at his feet with James behind her.
And now that she was seated on the comfy bed, just waking up. She knew he had done something helpful for her and here he stood, smiling.
Actually, not all these bourgeoisie are bad people. It seemed he was among the good one.
She kept staring into his eyes with both of them not saying anything until it became weird.
"You are welcome" Lucas replied the moment he seemed to regain himself.
Lana looked away shyly. She had lost herself and she had to remember her place. She sprang up and got off the bed.
"I'm Lucas!" he beckoned weirdly behind her.
"I'm Lana!" she turned around. "And I'm sorry for barging into your room" she quickly apologized. "Where is that man?" she asked.
"Dealt with" he nodded. "You came at the right time" he disclosed, smiling broadly. He really loved smiling and it suited him.
Lana was confused. She wondered why he sounded like he was expecting her. She became frozen and dumbfounded.
"Come here" Lucas called to her.
"What?" she couldn't comprehend what he meant.
"Come closer" he repeated.
Lana breath grew intense as she moved slowly to him. She would have been terrified by his mystery but she felt safe with him. It seemed that was due to his unending smile.
Lucas grabbed her with both his hands and hugged her tight.
"Do you feel it now?" he asked with a soft tone.
"Feel what" Lana could only feel his muscles and his body and she was sure he was not talking about that.
"Give it some time" he pulled her back to himself as she tried to break away.
She really enjoyed being in his arms but she didn't understand why he was doing all this.
"Did he hit you?" he asked softly again.
"Who?" Lana asked.
"That loan shark!" he gasped.
"How long have I been out?" she was surprised he had learnt so much, in the little time she spent being unconscious.
"He hit your nose?" he caressed a part of her face.
"Thanks" she chuckled. She was happy to receive such care though she was still clueless why he was acting weirdly nice.
"You get it now?" he asked again.
"What?" she asked cluelessly again.
"I will wait" he snorted.
Lana went deep in thought trying to know what was really going on. She became so calm, then she got the feeling. But it was unbelievable.
She placed her nose right on his bare chest and sniffed him.
Lucas standing, hugging her right here was her mate. And he was not just anyone. He was a billionaire and probably an Alpha. As much as she wanted to find her mate, she never expected this.
"I take you get it now" he moaned as she refused to take her nose off his chest.
"I'm an Omega" she confessed, expecting him to throw her away from his body.
"Really?" he chuckled. He obviously saw nothing wrong with that.
Lana became freed of worry. She was sure he had accepted her despite her status. She drifted back and stared into his face. They both shared a smile.
"You need to shower, then we go to the House" he instructed.
"Are you an Alpha?" Lana could feel that through the way he spoke and referred to 'the House'
"No. I'm not" he turned her around and took off her dress. "But I will be" he concluded and held her.
"That's tight" she moaned from the tightness of his grip.
"What is this?" Lucas' voice had changed from the nice, sexy one he was using earlier. He was now sounding tough and fearful.
"What is that?" Lana tried to keep her cool. She felt that might be a joke. A joke to show he was a tough Alpha.
"This tattoo on your neck" he violently turned her to face him, handling her brutally.
"Just a butterfly tattoo,it doesn't bite" she replied jokingly, still managing to relax amidst the situation.
"Who sent you?" he fumed at her.
"Sent me? To who? To do what?" she asked cluelessly.
Lucas wiped a slap on a side of her face.
It was stinging. She lost composure and sunk into the bed, holding her face with one hand. She sobbed without shedding tears. It was hard to believe how Lucas had quickly changed towards her.
Her view about the elites must have been wrong. They were all cruel set of people.
"Answer me! Who sent you?" he leaned over her and yelled with his voice loud enough to blow her eardrums.
Lana shook her head in fear.
"Why would you even accept to do this kind of thing? It is suicide, for you" he continued in his aggression.
"I don't know anything" Lana cried pitifully. Her happiness had capsized and she was now more miserable than before.
"How did you even accomplish that, to make me think you are my mate?" he rescinded in disappointment and confusion.
"I didn't do anything. We are destined mates" she stressed out maybe that would appeal to him.
"Say that again and I will kill you right on the spot" he waved a finger in her face.
Lana stared at him for some moment. She summed up courage and stood up to him. There was nothing left to lose, for her
"Then do it, kill me!" she yelled at him.
"Of course, you know you are already dead. It is either I kill you or your bosses kill you. But I will let you know there are worse things than death" he threatened.
Lana was sad. She felt she had made a mistake by confronting him. She wanted to withdraw her words but it was too late. She shook her head and tears streamed down her cheeks.
"You will beg for death until you reveal to me who you work for" he terrorized her again.
He pulled her up and dragged her towards the door.
"What are you going to do to me?" she cried.
